Post Ultimate Enemy with no time reversal, Danny takes up a role as Clockwork and the Observants' hand in the time stream, nudging it in the right direction. Clearly he's bad at his job, because he ends up ditching it to take this random kid to find his dad when he finds him in a League base. This has consequences of the adoption variety.

When Asty woke up, he knew he had two options: leave or stay.

Or: when a transmasc awakens in the world of a video game, over a decade before the story begins, in the body of a cannon fodder only there to die, he knows he has to survive. With a baby that was only born to be a monster strapped to his back, he knows choosing to let it live means one thing: taking responsibility to the end. If that means a modern person has to resolve to kill and torture and cross every line he never needed to cross, he'll do it.
After all, isn't that what being a dad is?
Asty isn't in Kansas anymore. It's kill or be killed now. If he wants to survive, wants his son to thrive, he needs to do whatever he can to ensure that future.

If one could describe Aine's life, it would be: indescribable. Dead. Not Dead. In Another World (Forgot He Was Dead.) Back home, regressed, for some insane reason. Kidnapped by his.... uncle?? Suddenly royalty? Except, he's not royalty, he sort of just lives in some guy's house, and royalty here means 'magic battery pack and said magic battery pack's favored people who are not actually royalty'.
Whatever. His life is frankly too chaotic to care about things like 'revenge against the people that killed me because I was a doormat'. He'd rather just open a store and sell some candles.
Unfortunately, as much as he wants to avoid things like 'revenge', they will not stop jumping in front of his face. Time to roll up his sleeves and beat the hell out of some jackasses that don't know when to quit, he guesses. His mother is a madwoman, and he might as well prove she gave birth to him once and for all.
