In a city aglow with brimming light and boundless joy, lies the heir to the throne of the White Lily Kingdom, standing on the balcony of his chamber. From his elevated vantage point, he gazes out of the realm he is destined to rule. His heart stirred by a profound sense of duty and excitement for the important role he is about to embrace—tonight, a new chapter begins. An exquisite masquerade ball will take place within the palace. Royals from neighboring kingdoms will converge to celebrate a new era bestowing upon the horizon
The prince got ready for the day with the help of his personal butler. Once he was done, he exited his chamber and descended down the white marble staircase to the large gallery leading to the dining hall. The moment he arrived at his destination, a familiar cheery voice called out to him
“Brother!” Exclaimed a girl with curly blonde locks faded into a bright pink hue. She quickly stood up from her seating at the dining table and hurried towards the price who just entered the room
“Saki! Good morning” The boy replied, embracing his sister in a hug
“Happy birthday!” Chirped the younger. “Tonight is the night you’ve been waiting for! Are you excited?”
“Thank you, Saki! And of course I am! We’re going to greet so many people! I can’t wait to see their smiling faces, let’s enjoy our night to the fullest!”
The girl giggled, followed by a cheerful “Of course!” in return
Just as they were done talking, their father called them over to the dining table so they could all dine together.

It was the evening of the same day, and Tsukasa was preparing for the ball that is about to begin in an hour. He was sitting in front of a vanity table dressed in a stunning white suit adorned with pure white lilies here and there with a blue waistcoat underneath. His hair tied into a low ponytail by a white ribbon.
Once the stylists were done with his hair and makeup, comes his favorite part of the outfit he will be wearing today
A white colored mask with gold-trimmed edges rested in front of him on the table, embellished with lilies at the side of the mask. Its elegant design satisfying the prince’s refined taste. He puts it on and it compliments his attire perfectly, the white matching his suit and the gold matching his eyes.
After a while, the royal gala commenced. The soon-to-be king could already feel the lively atmosphere of people chatting with one another as he stepped down the imperial staircase descending down to the main floor of the palace.
The prince navigated through the crowd with ease admiring their guests’ attire, complimenting them and exchanging smiles within the ballroom. Meeting a few of his close friends who also attended the party. Lady Shizuku, dressed in her glittery blue gown, came to greet and congratulate Tsukasa, wishing him a happy birthday. Although a mask was covering half her face, the prince could recognize her right away due to their close friendship. They chatted for a while, exchanging tidings and insights until they eventually parted ways
He also met with lady Kanade, who is accompanied by lady Honami, the mistress of the Yosaki household, as well as Saki’s friend. He exchanged smiles with them as they strolled past each other.
Tonight will definitely be a memorable occasion for the prince.
On the balcony underneath the glowing moon stands a figure dressed in black, his clothing adorned with black lilies, his face covered by a black mask with a lily similar to his, but is obsidian in color, placed on the opposite side of his’. The mask also has a black fishnet mesh that extends below the mask, covering just slightly a bit more of the wearer’s face.
The prince was intrigued to see a lone person by the balcony all by themself when the ballroom’s atmosphere was rather pleasant, so he decided to approach the latter
“How do you find the festivities this evening, my lord?” Prince Tsukasa stepped out to the balcony, the man in black who is now aware of his presence slightly turned his head towards the voice, sounds of shoes tapping against the marble floor inching closer and closer towards him, until they stopped right in front of him. The blonde bowed, introducing himself in the process.
“Greetings, I am Prince Tsukasa Tenma. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance”
“Prince Rui Kamishiro of the Black Lily Kingdom, the pleasure is all mine”
The other also bowed, raising the shorter’s wrist to his lips and kissing the back of his hand, shocking him in the process. Causing him to stumble on his own words in the next sentence
“I- I trust that you are enjoying your time here? I have heard much about your recent accomplishments, your grace. It’s an honor to speak with you”
“The same goes to you, my lord. I’ve always admired your benevolence and courage, it is truly remarkable for someone so young. I would also like to personally wish you a happy 18th birthday, may your region be of great prosperity and success as you embark on your royal duties. I have no doubt in your abilities that your leadership will most definitely bring peace to your kingdom”
“You flatter me. Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind words”
Both princes stood there bathing under the light of the moon, leaning against the marble railing, The blonde’s gaze on the crescent ornament that shines brilliantly within the sky.
“The moon is beautiful tonight, isn’t it?” The taller asked. Eyes not one bit glancing towards the illuminating crescent in the twilight, but at the prince standing beside him. The phrasing of his words before sounded more as if it was intended to be delivered as a statement than a question to be answered
“Indee—”
Just as the shorter was about to answer, he turned to face the other prince, now aware of his watchful gaze on him all this time. Tsukasa’s eyes met with Rui’s golden orbs that seemed to sparkle and glow in the dark of the night. His long lashing gently fluttering as he blinked, reminding him of a butterfly’s wing and he felt as if the world around him stopped moving for a second or two
What was he talking about again?
“Ah-! Yes the moon” He averted his gaze back to the silver glow in the sky
“…It’s quite, uh, stunning tonight isn’t it? Very.. beautiful.. I suppose..”
A chuckle was heard from the taller as the blonde’s cheeks flushed red, a shade similar to the orange hue at the tips of his hair, while he hid his face in the palm of his hands
Rui gently opens the hands shielding the prince’s face
“Although, the moon’s radiance dims in comparison to your presence”

As the clock strikes 1 A.M. the ball came to a end, meaning all guests today have to part ways
“Thank you prince Rui, I had an amazing time chatting with you. It was a pleasure to host you”
“Thank you as well for your hospitality, I had a delightful evening. May you have a pleasant night”
