Summary
A dark force moves on the woods and villages of Camelot and the surrounding lands, swallowing people and places of magic, disrupting the balance. Uneasy, the Druids seek Merlin's help.
Under the nose of King Uther, the Round Table seeks to investigate this series of mysterious disturbances. Eager to keep the commoner knights away during Samhain celebrations, Uther grants Sirs Lancelot, Elyan, and Gwaine permission to travel— but on their journey to rendezvous with the Druids, Gwaine is taken. Battered and bruised, Lancelot and Elyan race back to Camelot to inform the others, and, worried for their comrade, the Round Table set out after Gwaine. Meanwhile, Gwaine finds himself unexpectedly reunited with an old friend.
Can the prisoners thwart the machinations of their jailkeepers? Can the Round Table rescue them before the Druids' secrets are revealed? Who moves in the shadows of Camelot, and what will they will they sacrifice to their quest for power?
Through it all, will Merlin, Morgana and the Round Table avoid Uther Pendragon's suspicion, and his wrath?

Summary
The church smells of beeswax and old wood polish, a serene defiance against the London season clattering somewhere beyond its doors. It is not, strictly speaking, the house of worship in which Kate might have chosen to stage this confrontation- if such a choice had existed. But a church will have to do. And perhaps it is fitting- if she is to accuse and defend and, inevitably, blaspheme, she may as well do it in a place where every wall is already steeped in judgment.
