I wrote this a while ago when I was having Feelings About Motherhood and took it out on my OC Birdie. She's a ghost and I wanted to explore her memories of life and in this case being a mother and a daughter. The first pregnancy she had after the loss of her daughter resulting in a stillbirth felt like a significant one.

Lyla pulls her arms back and crosses them across her chest. "Fine, then. But that's not a good reason." Lyla drops her voice down to a whisper. "Do you really want to tell him tonight?"
Eve doesn't hesitate before speaking. "Yes. I want him to know I feel like a girl. I- I am a girl. I just hope it makes sense to him like it makes sense to you."
