Summary
It's been several days since Perihelion and PreservationAux rescued Iris and the rest of its crew from the infected colony planet, and Iris has noticed her spaceship sibling still seems extremely upset. She offers to clean out the upper portions of its engines in hopes this will help, but this just ends up bringing the trauma of the whole ordeal to the surface for the both of them.

Tano had used the pillow under her head the night before and the scent of Farai’s favorite body-wash was still on the air, so her muddled brain got a bit confused when a hand brushed the side of her cheek and she leaned into it.
A moment later she pulled away with a start. “Sorry,” she said.
“It’s fine,” it said. It pulled its hand back slowly instead of flinching like it sometimes did when someone leaned in too close. “That…” it trailed off and took a breath. “It’s not… horrible,” it concluded.
(Or stupid humans should not do stupid human things like not sleep so Murderbot doesn't have to have these conversations.)

Summary
The problem is that stupid humans take an average of 7-9 hours to go through a healthy restart cycle and during that time they are hyper-vulnerable to attack. It’s a security risk.
Murderbot is having issues managing its paranoia and perception of reality after the events on the Adamantine colony planet. Its favourite human and favourite transport bot help it feel better and it complains the whole time.
