My Dream Girl

Chapter Text

How do I start? UGH! Know what I’ll take you back to when it all started… It was a warm Summer day, I was seven maybe eight, and I was playing alone outside with no one else around when out of nowhere this redhead appeared in front of me. I didn’t know who she was or how she got there, but I knew she was scared.

“Daddy…” She was crying. She looked to be ten and she was crying! I didn’t know what to do so I sat next to her.

“Why are you crying?” I asked startling the poor redhead.

“W-who are you? Where am I?”

“You’re at my house in my backyard. My name is Beca. Who are you?”

“Well, Chloe why are you crying?”

“M-my daddy is leaving my family and not coming back. So I have to choose between my daddy or my mom, Beca.” Chloe started crying again and I didn’t know what to do so I said something any kid would say when something hurts…

“I could kiss it to make it feel better.” That made her laugh which made me feel happy. She had the best laugh I ever heard. We talked for a long while. She told me where she was from and how she got here. She ran away. She told me the she had two brothers (Chase and Connor) and she was the youngest, how old she was (ten and a half), what she plans to do in the future, and how she had to get back home as soon as she can. She was tired and didn’t want to go alone so I told her I’ll go with her to her house. When we got to her house she turned and hugged me. I just stood there frozen.

“Why did you freeze?” She asked as she pulled away.

“I don’t like hugs, sorry.” I said shyly.

We met up the next day and she told me she’s staying with her mom but can always go see her dad anytime.

“My mom’s new house is right next to yours, so we’ll be neighbors!” Chloe was acting all bubbly today and it made me laugh how she is easily excited over the craziest things.

Years passed and we grew closer than ever. We shared everything, even clothes, with each other! Chloe remained bubbly and carefree and she told me how she had a boyfriend now. It hurt when she said that her boyfriend Chicago was everything she ever wanted and that’s when I realized I was jealous. But of what? Weeks flew by and Chloe would mention how much Chicago was so sweet and how much she loved him…

Until one day as I was walking home I found Chloe in tears on my parents front steps.

“Chloe? You okay?” I could tell she wasn’t, but I still wanted to ask.

“Huh? Oh. H-hey, Becs. Yeah, I-I’m fine.” Sniffle. If Chloe was told to tell a lie god would she fail.

“Chloe…” I gave her one of my faces that she knew as my “mommy face”. “C’mon tell Beca all about it.” I sat down next to her and laid her head on my chest stroking her hair. I don’t know why but this helped calm me just a little.

Sniffle, sniffle.

“Fine. It’s Chicago…” She was acting so delict I felt like if I stopped stroking her she’d break. “I-I found him kissing some other girl! Beca he’s cheating on me.”

I didn’t know what made me say this, but I said, “Then cheat on him.” This was enough to make her sit up and glared over at me. “I mean it. Cheat. On. Him.” Chloe got furious.

“With whom, Beca Mitchell? With whom? He was the only one who loved me!” She was shouting at me now. She stood up and was shouting at me. “No one else in this bloody place loves me, not him, not my parents, not my brothers! I am not worthy of love!”

Now I was getting furious at her. I stood up nice and calmly, but what I did wasn’t so calm. I slapped her right across her face.

“Don’t you ever say you’re not worthy of love and that no one loves you! For shit’s sake Beale! Open your eyes and see that I love you! I loved you for years and I was there when you needed me! Would I do that if I didn’t love you? No! I’ve been waiting many bloody years for you! I tried hinting you on it too! Look, I cried myself to sleep night after night beating myself up for not telling you! And I know that it’s not right for an almost high school senior to be in love with a collage sophomore, but dammit Chloe I don’t give a bloody hell what others say! So cheat on Chicago! With me! Because I loved you longer than him and I don’t want to see you hurt! I would often sit down and think to myself, ‘Chloe I love you’ and then dream of a world where you and I are married, have four beautiful children, and grow old together! But I now know that I’m just being ridiculous! Because you had him and you thought you were happy, which was slowly killing me! So I’m just gonna say it loud and proud! Chloe Beale, I love you.” I was now in tears at this point and when I looked up at Chloe she was in shock.

“Y-you love me?” A smile was slowly creeping across her face. “You really love me?”

Her beaming eyes was enough to make me blush, so I just stared down at my feet. Did I really say all that to her? Does she feel the same? How will she feel? All these thoughts were flooding in my head, so I turned around and opened the door to go inside when from behind me I felt her arms around my waist.

“Beca, I-I love you too. Thank you for making me realize it. Now can you turn around so I can say it to your face?”

Blushing I slowly turned around to find my lips crashing into Chloe’s. Chloe slowly put her arms back around my waist and I put mine around her neck pulling her closer. We stayed like that until we were both out of breath.

“So… cheat with me?” I asked staring into her gorgeous ice-blue eyes.

“Hmm… I don’t know you seem a little young…” I made a pouty face and she just laughed. “Oh, Becs. Of course! Also, your little face is so cute. I am totes taking a picture.” Before I could change my face and say no, click!

“I am so posting this!” I went to grab her phone away from her, but she just held it high and ran into my house. I chased her closing the door behind me. I chased her all the way up the stairs into my room laughing trying to grab her phone to delete the photo until…
Thud! We both fell on my bed in the position of that one scene from Lion King laughing, me still trying to grab the phone. Chloe just rolled over with me on top making me fall to the side and posted the photo on her Instagram.

“There posted. Now everyone can see just how cute my new girlfriend is.” She said looking over to wink at me.

“New girlfriend, huh?” I smirked, trying not to blush at those words.

“Of course!” She kissed me again just like earlier. “Mm. And I am totes not sharing.”

I didn’t want her to see me blush, so I just cuddled close to her. I heard a chuckle rise from her throat as I buried my head into her neck.

“Someone likes the sound of that, huh?”

“Sh-shut up…” I could swear my face was probably as red as a tomato. We fell asleep for a while until I heard the front door open.

“Beca! We’re home!” It was my parents! Oh no! I thought. How will I tell them about Chloe staying here and about us?!

“Chloe, Chloe wake up!” I whispered as I shook Chloe to get her up.

“Ugh, mm. What is it, Mitchell?”

“My parents!”

“Oh crap!” She shot up like a rocket out of bed.

“Shhh. I have a plan. Act like you were helping me study!”

“Got it!”

“Yo, Beca? You home?” Dad poked his head in my room and saw Chloe. “Aw, Miss Beale. Fancy seeing you here.”

“Hello, Mr. Mitchell. I’m just helping Beca study for her next test.” Chloe acted as if that’s what we were really doing. My dad bought it.

“Well, then why don’t you stay for dinner? Sheila! Chloe’s staying for dinner!”

“Dad, can she stay the night too?” I was hoping for as much time with Chloe as possible.

“If it’s alright with Chloe’s mom.” I wasn’t expecting that. He usually says not on a school night, so you can imagine my surprised look when he said that.

“Oh, my mom’s out of town, sir. I’ll have to ask my brother Chase.” I just sat there staring at them with my mouth in a perfect circle. Was this for real or was I still dreaming?

Chloe must have heard my mind because she then pinched my arm.

“OUCH!” I yelp. I turned my head to deadpan her.

“Oh good. You’re still with me. I said I texted Chase and he said it’s fine.”

“Oh, great! More us time!”

“No, more time for us to plan how we’re gonna do this.”

“Ugh. What a buzzkill!” I muttered as I rolled my eyes.

“Hey, eyes front. Thank you.” Chloe was snapping her fingers in my face. I just stuck my tongue out playfully. “I’ll bite that tongue of yours.” She was smirking so I stuck it out again.

Sure enough she caught it with her teeth. She bit it just enough to make it hurt a little, but she then kissed me. I never kissed anyone like this or at all for that matter, so I just let her take the lead. Wasn’t long before she pulled away. I wasn’t ready for her to as I almost fell forward.

“Hey, I wasn’t ready to stop yet.” I whined.

“Well, too bad.” She said as she walked over to my bed and sat down pat next to her for me to sit. “Now, come here. We need to talk of a way to keep this a secret from your parents and still make it noticeable to everyone else, Mitchell.”

“Easy,” I say as I sat right next to her without an inch between us, “I’m graduating early so we can try sneaking around my parents that way.”

Chloe was in deep shock. “You’re graduating early? But how?”

I laughed and said, “My dad’s the dean of your collage, remember? I just have to finish a semester or two and boom! I’m a young college student.” I turned to see Chloe’s jaw drop. “What?”

“You got it all planned out there, Beca.”

“Beca! Chloe! Dinner’s ready, sweethearts!” Sheila was calling from downstairs.

I got up and offered Chloe my hand in a romantic gesture. “Shall we, milady?” I asked smirking at her.

“How romantic.” She laughed taking my hand with hers and got up. “Hmm. I could get used to this.” She rested her head on my shoulder as we walked down to the stairs.

I heard Sheila mutter something to herself with a sweet tone, but I didn’t bother to know what because I was focused on making Chloe laugh at some of our inside jokes. Like that time she dared me to say that I wanted to be a ghost story. I was ten don’t judge me.

After last night it felt different. Like it was all a dream. I woke up to find myself being the only one in bed, so I figured it must have been. When I got downstair to the kitchen to make myself some coffee I found Chloe making breakfast.

“I can feel you staring, Becs.” She said as she perfectly flipped a pancake into the pan.

“Hm. Just enjoying the view.” I said smugly. I walked over and put my arms around Chloe’s waist, resting my head on her shoulder. “You can really cook there, Beale.” I grabbed a piece of bacon and ate it. “Mm!”

“Hey! This food isn’t for you!” Chloe laughed. “It’s a thank you for your parents.” I reached for another bacon strip and Chloe just smacked my hand. “That over there is yours, Mitchell.” She pointed the spatula at the table to two plates on with eggs and bacon, the other with three pancakes.

“If this is what I have to get used to, sign me up!” I said excitedly as I sat down to eat. I took my first bite of eggs and wow! It was really, really good. “Holy sweet baby Jesus, Beale! This is amazing!”

Chloe just laughed at me, shook her head, and said, “It’s nothing.”

“Nothing?! I never tasted such great eggs! And these pancakes! My god, can the redhead cook!” Within a flash my food was halfway gone.

“Slow down there, tiger. Or you’ll get sick. I’m going to take this to your parents.” Chloe had found our old food tray and put the food on it. “I’ll be right back.”

I finished my plate and got ready for school. I told Chloe I’ll drive myself, but she thought it’d be safer if I didn’t take my motorbike.

“No.” Chloe said after I pleaded with her. “Now get in the car. I’ll drive you.”

As Chloe and I got in the car I reached over to play some of my playlist.

“Uh-uh.” Chloe shook her head while shooing my hand away. “Driver gets to pick.”

“Great. Thirty minutes of non-stop torture.” I rolled my eyes playfully. I honestly didn’t mind because it meant I could watch my favorite redhead sing along to Taylor Swift for thirty minutes.

When we got to my school I looked over at Chloe who was looking at her phone furious. She was looking at a picture of Chicago and he’s new girl. I took her hand in mine and she look up at me. I knew it still was painful for her.

“Hey, hey. Forget him okay? Now I got to go. I’ll see you later.” I got out the car and was maybe a good seven feet when Chloe called back at me.

“Hey, Mitchell! Forgetting something?” I didn’t know what I forgot so I turned around to find Chloe outside the car. “Or rather someone?” She crossed her arms and smiled at me.

I just smirked, walked over, and kissed the bubbly redhead. I was hoping for someone to see us as I pulled Chloe deeper into the kiss. Chloe was the first to pull away, but she quickly came back. A few moments later we heard cheering from three people. I was the one to pull away this time.

“I’m afraid I must take my leave, until we meet again.” I said bowing. “Parting is such sweet sorrow.”

“You goofball. I’ll pick you up after school.” Chloe laughed.

“I shall await your arrival milady.” I smirked. Chloe just laughed harder, shook her head, got in the car, and drove off. After watching her leave, I turned around to find the three cheerers. My good friends Emily, Skylar, and Luca. They were just smiling at me.

“What?” was all I could say.

“So you finally did it. How will Jesse feel about this?” Luca said raising her eyebrow.

“Yeah, Jesse won’t be so happy that you move on.” Skylar laughed. Must she mention that? I thought.

“Come on, guys that was years ago.” I said deadpanning the two girls.

“Geesh, Beca. Calm down. They were only teasing.” Emily said, lightly patting my back. “Girls, you know that still hurts her.”

“Sorry, B.” Luca said.

“Yeah, sorry, Shawshank.” Skylar apologized. “So who’s the lucky redhead?”

“Chloe Beatrice Beale. College sophomore.” I stated with my head held high. “Also an A Cappella Barden Bella.” I look back at them and they were clearly surprised.

“You’re dating a Barden Bella? A college Barden Bella?” Emily asked.

“Yes, Legacy.” Emily’s mom was a former Barden Bella and the leader at that, so for me to be dating a Bella was her prize ticket number two into the Bellas.

“Ladies, we are in the presence of pure embarrassment.” Luca said.

I stopped and turned to face her. “How you mean?”

“Have you seen the video? The Bellas new co-leader, Aubrey, completely cookie tossed the front few rows during their last performance.” Skylar said.

“Guys, that was like half a year ago.” Emily rolled her eyes and kept walking. The first bell rang for a warning the school is about to start. We ran to our classes and I sat down next to another one of my friends, Fat Amy, and took out my things.

“Hey there, shortstack.” Amy was a senior so yeah fun…

“Hey, Amy.”

“I heard someone’s dating a redhead. Is she a red hot?” Amy joked.

“Ha ha, very funny. You remember Chloe right?”

“No way! Chloe Beale?!”

“Beca, you could get expelled!”

“Yeah, yeah. Only if they catch me.” I said proudly. “Besides, I have dirt on the principle so hardly ever gonna happen.”

“Ooh, do tell.” Amy has always been one for dirty secrets.

I looked around to make sure no one else was listening. “Okay, come here.” Amy leaned her ear over, and I cupped my hands around it. “Principle Pride is sleeping with a student.”

“What? Who?” Amy just had to take one look at me, and she knew. “My God! Beca! Her! For real!”

“Yep.” I said popping my lips. “Looks like Conrad’s sister is more of a slut than her.” I laughed.

“What about my sister, Mitchell?” Stacie asked from behind us.

“Look Stac, I know about your sister’s dirty secret but don’t worry okay? I’ll take it to the grave.”

Stacie just blushed. “Thanks, Mitchell. Others would make fun of her and me.”

“You’re welcome Stacie. I would never wish your family bad fortune. Come here.” Stacie and I did are little handshake we had since we were in middle school. “Besides, I can’t tell because I too have a little forbidden love.” I muttered under my breath.

Class ended faster than I thought, and the bell rang. Just as I was about to walk out Mr. Howler stopped me.

“Beca Mitchell, can I speak with you?” I didn’t do anything this time! I thought.

“Yeah, sure.”

“I saw you making out with my daughter, Chloe.” Aw, great! He saw! Quick think of a lie!

“Look, sir. I am so sorry.”

“I have never seen Chloe-bear so happy.”

“W-what?” I was so surprised I didn’t know how to respond.

“Chloe was never that happy with Chicago. In fact, they would rarely even date because he’d have some lame excuse. He better change up is act and what not.”

“Sir, Chicago cheated on Chloe.”

“HE DID WHAT?!?” Mr. Howler was so loud you could’ve heard him on the other side of school.

“Don’t worry. I told Chloe to forget him and fake cheat with me. She already posted a photo of me that says hastage new love on Instagram.”

“Beca…” Mr. Howler was almost crying now… “I want you to promise you’ll take better care of my daughter than he did.”

“Mr. Howler, I love your daughter with every fiber of my being. I promise no matter what happens I will always protect her and her heart.”

“Beca, why don’t come over to my house tonight to have dinner with me, my husband and Chloe? I’m sure she would love that.”

“I’d love to, but we’re trying to keep it a secret from my homophobic father. I’m pretty sure my step-mother knows, heh.”

“Well then, so be it. Now off you go.”

“Thank you.”

“No, Beca. Thank you.”

School today was over in a flash. I sat on the steps to the school waiting for Chloe to show up when out of nowhere Jesse came over.

“Mitchell!” He was acting all tough.

“Jesse.” I said in a cold tone. It took about two seconds before he burst out laughing.

“So you finally did it, eh?”

“Heh heh. Yeah, I finally did.” Jesse may have made the mistake to try and kiss me in eighth grade, and I let him down easy, but he was still my best friend. “You must have seen the kiss, huh?”

“Are you kidding?! It’s even posted on TikTok, dude!” He playfully punched my arm. “Someone’s got a forbidden love story, Juliet.” He laughed at he’s reference.

“Umm… More like Romeo…” I was blushing at my words. I rubbed the back of my neck nervously.

“Oh? Well then, Romeo, your Juliet has just arrived at the ball.” He whispered.

“What’s this about Romeo and Juliet, and some forbidden love?” Chloe said.

“Oh, we were just saying how Beca here is your Ro-’’ I glared at him with daggers in my eyes.

“My what?” Chloe asked sweetly.

“Jesse, don’t you dare!” I mouthed.

Jesse just took a deep breath, winked at me, and shouted… “YOUR ROMEO!”

“Prepare to die.” I muttered to him.

“You wouldn’t kill me.” He stuck his tongue out at me.

“What makes you so sure?” I countered.

“Because you don’t want Chloe to see you murdered someone.” He laughed.

“Oh yeah?” Jesse took off in a high-speed sprint, but I soon caught him and tickled him. “ Ha ha ha. You just got killed.”

“Ha! I think we both are.” He flipped me over and tickled me!

“Stop! Haha! Stop it! Jesse!” I laughed. He got off me laughing. “Not fair. I killed you first.”

“Should I be worried?” Chloe asked with a laughed.

“Chloe this is my childhood best friend Jesse. Jesse this is Chloe.”

“Aka ‘the spawn of Aphrodite herself’, right?” Jesse asked smugly shaking Chloe’s hand.

“Oh, God! Jesse!” I was so embarrassed right then and there.

“Who says that?”

“Beca did for the longest time. Also ‘Dream Girl’ because she’d dream about you.”

“Beca, I’m flattered.”

“…let’s just go home…” If only my crop top had a hood. Good thing I had my hat. I pulled it down closer over my face, but Chloe just took it and handed me my biker’s helmet.

“I rode your bike here.”

“Oh, really? Who drove? Because last time I checked you said it was too dangerous.” I said mildly cocky.

“I might’ve had to ask for help from a few old friends named risk and adrenaline. Oh, and love.” Chloe listed.

“You crazy redhead.” I said before I kissed her.

“But you love me.”

“Heck, yeah.” I went to kiss her again when Jesse grabbed my arm.

“Hey, Beca? Can we speak for a sec?” Jesse said while pulling me away.

“Guess I don’t have a choice, heh.”

Once we were out of hearing range. Jesse looked at me with a serious look.

“So, you gonna tell her?”

“’Bout what?”

“You know, Alfa.”

“What? That my mother is a werewolf and my father is really a mortal and that I’m a demi-werewolf? Hopefully never, J.”

“What if you’re putting her at risk there, Wolfy?”

I sighed. Jesse was right. I am putting Chloe at risk of hunting werewolves and me. She was bound to get hurt if she stayed with me. But there was something there. Some kind of force that pulled me to her. I looked over at Chloe who was laughing at something on her phone. She’s so precious to me. Enemies will use her against me. I sighed again knowing what might happen to my bubbly redhead.

“Hey, Becs! We gotta go!” Chloe called over at me.

“Coming!” I shouted back at Chloe. “Just keep your type at bay, Captain. We don’t want another war.” I nodded to Jesse.

“You got it, Princess.” Must he remind me that I’m next in line to be Alfa?

I walked over to Chloe and gave her back my helmet. “You might need it more than I.” I chuckled and got on my motorbike. Chloe didn’t argue and got on.

We were halfway through our drive to Chloe’s fathers’ when all of the sudden a wolf jumped out in front of us. I quickly swerved to the right. Maybe a little too sharp because Chloe, who was barely holding on flew straight off. I spun my bike in a circle until I was able to kill power. The wolf that jumped in front of us was a member of my mother’s pack. I didn’t have time to see who it was because as soon as I calmed down I saw Chloe laying there… not moving… The pack member did too because they were sniffing at her. They quickly returned to their human form and it was my cousin Mike. I ran over to both of them not knowing how to feel.

“B-Beca? Is that you?” Mike asked.

“Timothy Michell Roberts! What the hell?!?” I shouted at him after checking on Chloe who laid there lifeless but was breathing. “You could’ve killed us! Or worse, just her! What were you thinking?!”

“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It’s just… I could smell her sweet scent and it made me hungry. Speaking of which, why haven’t you, you know? Your instincts would have kicked in and you would have killed her already.”

“Yeah, well, I haven’t.”

I looked back down at Chloe and removed the helmet. Thank God she wasn’t bleeding, or I would have. “I-I don’t know, Mikey. I-I feel this need to be with her and protect her. To be her only love, her strong rock, her knight, her—”

“OH EM GEE!” Mike was super happy and excited now.

“…what?” I had no clue what was going on.

“Beca, prepare yourself because this is some stunning news and I’m not sure you’re ready but… YOU IMPRINTED!!! Ta-da!”

“WHAT?! No, no, no, no, no. I’m too young to imprint on Chloe. I’m seventeen!” This was all really stunning news. “Besides I’m only half werewolf…”

“Mmmmm.” Chloe groaned. I quickly went back to her. She was slowly coming back. “Beca?”

I rushed back to Chloe to hold her head up for her. “I’m here, Beale. I’m right here.”

Chloe slowly opened her eyes and winced in pain. “Beca, it hurts…”

“What does?” I was serious now.

“My wrist, my arm, my head, and my waist…” Chloe was still so weak, so I picked her up.

“Mikey, I need you to… uh… turn around. Please.”

“Why?” Mike was sweetly asking, but it made me more nervous.

Gulp. “…Because I’m going to inspect her waist…” Both Mike and Chloe were in shock, but Chloe just winced again. Mike gave me a look. “…not like that, Mikey…” I turned back to Chloe. “But first we need to get out of mortal range…”

“…Mortal range?” Chloe asked weakly.

“I’ll tell you later.” As soon as we got far enough away from the road, I laid Chloe down in the grass and Mike turned around. I looked at Chloe blushing. I never seen Chloe’s waist, no matter how long we’ve been friends. And the fact that I’m gonna have to undo her pants and pull them down past her… It’s all really embarrassing. Chloe must have known what I felt.

“…Beca, relax. You’re just looking at my waist to see the damage, not having sex with me.” Chloe weakly laughed but was also blushing at what I had to do.

“No, but she wants to!” Mike joked behind me.

“Shut up, Mikey!”

Still blushing I did what I needed to do so I had a better look at Chloe’s waist. I couldn’t see any blood or bruises, so I started feeling around.

“…Beca…it hurts…” Chloe winced.

“Well nothing seems to be broken here.” I helped Chloe up and with her pants. “Let me see your wrist.”

“Can I turn back around now?” Mike asked.

“Beca, who is this?” Chloe asked.

“Timothy Michell Roberts, at your service.”

“Mikey, back off.”

“Oh right. Wouldn’t want to steal your girl.” He said with a laugh.

“Her girl, huh?”

“Oh, yeah. Beca imprinted on you. So now you’re her mate.”

“But only animals imprint and have mates…”

“She didn’t tell you?”

“Mikey, not now.” I was still inspecting Chloe’s wrist when she pulled away.

“No. Now seems like a perfect time. Tell me what, Mitchell?” Chloe was getting pissed. I could tell by the tone in her voice.

“Chloe, please.”

“REBECA EFFIN’ MITCHELL! Tell me right now or I swear to God—”

“I’m half werewolf! There, you happy?” Chloe just stared at me in fear and that’s when I realized I was shaking. I took a deep breath. “Chlo… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—” She was in tears scared. Sigh. “Chloe this is who I am and I want to show you. But I need to get really, very mad. M-Mikey, I need you to pull her away if it get bad. Okay?”

“Got it, Beccy.”

“Chloe, uh, m-make me mad.”

“But Beca…”

“Chicago wants me dead…” Chloe was trying so hard. Mike just stepped in.

“Beca, she can’t do it!”

“Then do it, Mikey!” Mike nodded. Mike transformed and fake attacked Chloe. That was enough to push me over the edge. I transformed and tackled him right off.

“Beca, don’t! Beca look at me!” I looked of at Chloe. “I’m fine. See?” Chloe started walking calmly over to me. Once she was close enough, she pet my head. “Is my Becs still in there?” I was so glad I was in my wolf form or she would’ve seen me blushing and enjoying what she was doing. I couldn't control myself and I licked her face.

“Ew, Beca! We need to talk about your puppy breath.” Chloe laughed. “Now, is my Beca in there?”

I went back to my human form. “Hey, Beale.”

“What happened to your shirt? It’s like it vanished.” Chloe was staring at my abs. “By the way…I think a just won the jackpot…”

“Take a picture, it will last longer.” I laughed. “My shirt is torn to shreds over there, heh.”

“Oh my god. Get a room you two. Gross.” Mike groaned. I rolled my eyes at him.

“Mikey you got spare clothes?”

“Yeah, come to my house and I’ll lend you some of my sister Rebel’s.”

“Dude, her shirts are like a size too tight.”

“It will make your abs stand out.” Chloe whispered.

“Whatever. Just make it quick.”

Mike took five minutes before he came back with a shirt. I slipped it on and it just barely fit. We said our goodbyes and went back to my bike to get back on the road.

When we got back on the road there were no breaks or interruptions. We got to Chloe’s dads’ house just fine.

“You know you forgot your hat.” Chloe said as I pulled up in her driveway.

“Eh, I’ll grab it later. I have to go back there anyways.” I replied as I cut the engine of my motorbike.

“Chloe Beatrice Beale! You know the rules against riding on motorbikes!” Said a man coming over to me and Chloe. “You could’ve been hurt in an accident or worse! Oh, hi Beca.”

“Hello Mr. Howler.”

“Dad, I’m fine.” Chloe was right she is fine not a single scratch on her that could’ve given away that we DID have an accident.

“Who was on a motorbike?!” Uh-oh, I thought. I know that voice.

“James, Chloe was on a bike!”

“WHAT?!?” Sure enough here comes James Howler. Chloe’s father.

“It was my fault, James. I thought it would be okay. I’m sorry.” I was telling the truth. It was mostly my fault. I’m the one with the bike after all.

“Oh, why, Beca. How lovely to see you. You doing any better after you-know-what?”

“The whole werewolf thing? Yeah, I’m fine. Just not ready to become the alfa yet.”

“Ah, so you told her, huh?”

“Daddy, Beca and I are dating now. So, no secrets.” Chloe said as she took my hand.

“I thought this was OUR secret.” I whispered in her ear.

“What happened between you and—”

“James, Chicago is a dirty cheater.”

“THE HELL?! Oh I’m gonna kill him!” Holy son of a bidamatthew. I’d hate to get on his bad side. Damn. “Beca I trust this will be a true relationship?”

“Yes sir. In fact may we talk, alone?” I wanted to tell the only other person I trust about the whole imprint thing.

“Of course. Chloe, go with Dad.”

“Yes, sir. Come Dad.”

“So what’s up?” James said when we were alone.

“Well, you see, I sorta, kinda, might’ve… imprinted on your daughter…?” My voice was small and quiet but loud enough for him to hear what I said.

“WHAT?! Does she know?!” James was really excited, it made me suspicious.

“Wait, you’re not mad?”

“Hell nah, she seems happy with you.”

“I thought you’d be pissed because of the age difference.”

“Eh, maybe a little but who cares.”

“Sweet mother of cyclops!” My attention was pulled away when I saw Chloe in a different outfit standing on the porch. She was wearing her Bellas rehearsal outfit now and Lord take my soul.

“I can feel you staring again, Becs.”

Gulp. Aw, sweet baby Jesus. Was the lord testing me? Heh, kill me. “Is it too hard to notice?”

Chloe started walking towards me.

“I’ll just go.” Said James.

“Was it really so noticeable how I was staring?” I turned to Chloe.

“Let’s just say you might wanna hide that toner better, ha ha.”

“Shit, you caught me. Heh heh heh.”

“Will you take me to rehearsal?”

“Don’t you think about getting on that bike again, Chloe!” Called James.

“Daddy! I’m a grown woman! I’m not a little girl anymore!”

“True that.” I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut. Instead I say, “I’ll be careful James!”

“Fine, I trust you Beca.” Said James.

“Bye Dad, bye Daddy.” Chloe said waving goodbye. “Let’s go before Daddy changes his mind.” I like how she’s so bossy when she’s in a rush.

“Hold on tight this time.” I say as I jump start my bike. Chloe listens and wraps her arms around me tightly. I didn’t mind, I mean why would I?

When we got to Chloe’s rehearsal Chloe asked if I wanted to watch.

“Hell, yeah!” I said without thinking. We went inside and Aubrey told Chloe to get in position. They started singing and it was the same song the Bellas sang for years.

“Stop, stop, stop.” I blurted out when I had enough. “You guys aren’t gonna win that way by singing the same song and doing the same thing every time.”

“And what do you suggest we do, smart ass?” Aubrey ask rudely. Geesh chill, girl.

“Bree, don’t be an ass.” Chloe says. “What do you suggest, Becs?”

“Well, for starters you need a new dance routine.” I say stepping off the stairs I was sitting on.

“Fine, whatever.” Aubrey shrugs coldly.

“And you need a new mix.”

“Oh?” Says one of the other Bellas.

“Show us, please.” Chloe ask. “Beca’s a DJ, Bree.”

“Cool, show us!” A Bella shouts.

“Sure, yeah.” I grab my laptop from my bag and open my mix I was working on. “Here.” I clicked play and to my amazement everyone, except Aubrey, loved it.

“Wow! This is a great mix! Aubrey, we should have her join.” Said the Bella patting my back.

“Can you sing?” Asked Aubrey.

“I don’t sing.” I say.

“Oh, so you can’t.”

“I never said I can’t. I said I don’t. Not since what happened to my mum.”

“Hm. See Jessica, we need someone who will sing.” Aubrey said to the Bella.

“Aw, man. Can we at least use her for her mix?” Jessica says.

“We could try something new Bree.” States Chloe winking at me.

“Fine, we will try. But! One wrong move and you’re out.” Aubrey says threatening me.

“Deal.” I say. “First I need some requests.” After I got all the request I went to work. It wasn’t half bad for the little time I had to work on it. “Okay, try this.” The mix started out with one of Taylor Swift’s songs, the one about an end game, then merged with Firework, then stop and start again with Crush by Selena something, and so on and so forth.

“This is great! We just need to work out the dance.” Says Chloe.

“Thanks, Chlo.”

“That is a good mix… Alright you’re in.” Aubrey says.

“Whoa, really? Great.”

“Rehearsal’s over girls, go home.” I started to walk away when… “Not you baby Bella. You need to do something first.” Great. I turn around and face the grumpy woman. “We have a riff-off pool party tomorrow. You need to prove yourself a Bella then. Once you prove yourself, you will gain my trust.”

“Sure thing, boss.” I say as I walk away.

“Six pm sharp!” She shouts.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. C’mon, Chlo.”

The next day was great… Kinda. The girls hit me with the twenty questions, Fat Amy kept riding my ass about how much trouble I could get in if I keep showing up late (not my fault there’s like seven thousand students and the halls are always crowded), and Emily freaking out about me becoming and dating a Bella. Usual stuff. Well, now it is. I also got some time to make a mix just for me and Chloe. A mix of Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, and Echosmith with a little bit of Chloe’s singing voice. It wasn’t a bad mix, but still needed something… When I found out my heart dropped. It needed the song my mom used to sing to me every time before bed. Here’s the problem, my mom is dead. She died when I was twelve.

“Just great.” I grumbled once I knew what I had to do to place the song in.

“What’s wrong, Beca?” Asked Emily.

“I’m working on a mix for me and Chloe, Legacy. But it needs this one song my mom used to sing.” I said taking off my headphones.

“Oh. Isn’t your mom, um…?”

“Dead? Yeah.”

“Oh, Beca. So, what will you do?”

Sigh. “I’ll have to sing it in order to put it in the mix.”

“But you haven’t sang since you were twelve.”

“I know. But if it’s for Chloe then I’ll do whatever needs to be.”

“Aw. That was such a sweet and romantic sentence.” Emily swooned.

“Well, it’s a true one. Her happiness comes first to me.”

“The words to a lasting and true relationship.” Said Stacie who was also sitting with me. “If only my relationships lasted as long as this one will.”

“Come on, Stace. You’ll find someone someday.” Emily said comfortingly to Stacie.

“Yeah, Conrad. You just gotta keep looking.” I say slipping my headphones on Emily. “Here, Legacy, listen to this.” I played the mix as it was and waited for a response.

“It’s good for what you have so far…” She started.

“But it needs a little Selena Gomez or maybe some Demi Lovato, you know.”

“Maybe you’re right. Oh, and maybe Fly on the Wall!” Exclaims Stacie when she heard it.

“Okay, noted.” I say. I start planning out how I was going to put my mom’s song in without Chloe hearing me just yet.

“Beca! Let’s go! We got to go if we wanna make it on time!” Shouted Chloe from downstairs.

“Are you sure that this will impress Aubrey?” I say as I came down the stairs.

Chloe turned around and her jaw dropped. “It can impress anyone, Becs.” I was changed into ripped jeans with rips almost everywhere and crop-top that says “This girl isn’t your bad bitch” with a leather jacket over my shoulders. I decided to let my hair down with a beanie.

“Thanks, Chlo.” I kissed her. “Now we can go.”

“We’re taking the bike.”

“I’ll have to get used to this Chloe. Okay hop on.”

When we got there, there was people drinking and a few smoking. I wasn’t complaining but I wasn’t comfortable about the people smoking.

“Oh, I forgot to mention we have to get just a little tipsy. Are you okay with that, baby Bella?” Aubrey said getting in my face.

“I came here to bring it, so hell yeah.” I challenge. “Is there whiskey?”

“That’s the spirit.” Says a familiar voice. I spin around to see my favorite Senior boy handing me a shot of whiskey. “Figured you’d want this.” Jesse says.

“Thanks Jesse.” I say grabbing the drink. “So, you’re with the Trembles.”

“Heh heh, yeah. We taking you down, though.”

“Sorry, Jesse but Beca and the Bellas are gonna be the ones whooping asses.” Chloe says after returning from getting her “jiggle juice” which is just a fruity ale. Pretty sure it’s mostly a Smirnoff.

“Hey, babe. Jesse was just teasing challengingly.” I say kissing Chloe cheek so everyone else knows to back off. I feel like I need to make her a shirt that says “Beca Mitchell’s girl” and I could have one that says “I’m Beca Mitchell”.

“Damn, that’s some fiery redhead you got there, Alfa.” Jesse laughed.

“Yeah, and she’s perfect.” I said looking in Chloe’s eyes.

“Well, that makes two of us.” Chloe winks after she said that.

“Ugh, gross. Too much sweetness. You guys are gonna give me a toothache just being here talking to you.” Jesse joked.

“Oh, ha ha.” I said rolling my eyes looking back at him.

“Chloe!” Aubrey called from the bottom of stairs.

“Bree wants me.” Chloe kissed my face very close to my lips. “I’ll be back soon.” She whispered in my ear causing a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. Somehow it made me want to take her back home and take her into my room and— I shake the idea out of my head, but I still could help watching her walk away. She knew it too because she started swaying her hips as she walked away.

“Damn that girl!” I said once I broke free from my trance. “What did she just do to me?!” I asked Jesse.

“Whatcha mean?” He asked cocking his head.

“She whispered in my ear and all the sudden I wanted to take to my room and slowly undress her, kissing every—”

“Okay, TMI. It just sounds like she just turned you on. It happens.”

“How do I turn off ‘cause I can’t focus.”

“Go to her, duh.”

“Okay. See ya, Jesse.”

I walked over to where Chloe was trying to calm myself down. Once I was behind her I cleared my throat causing her to turn around.

“Hey, Becs. Bree was just talking to me about—” I didn’t give a chance to finish her sentence because I got bumped into her knocking her off her feet. “Oof! You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. But maybe we should get up. People are staring.” I said getting up and held my hand out for Chloe to take.

“Thanks. Anyways, whatcha need?”

“I need to calm down because you did something to me.”

“I want to, um, God this is so embarrassing… I want…”

“Beca, I understand. I do to, but not here. So please keep it in your pants, for now at least. And get your hands outta mine.” I got so lost in Chloe’s eyes and the conversation that I didn’t notice my hands traveled down her back and into the back pockets of her pants, grabbing her butt. I quickly pulled my hands out, stepped back, and looked around to make sure no one saw what just happened.

“Oh, God.” I said covering my face with my hands. “So embarrassing. I’m so sorry.”

Giggle. “It’s okay, Beca.” Chloe said moving my hands away from my face. “It was hot, and you know what?” Chloe face came closer to mine until we were a whisper away. “I like it.”

“I really want to kiss you right now, Red.” I whispered.

Chloe pulled away with a smug look on her face. “Not now. And ‘Red’? Really?”

“Yeah. You know, like Red Riding Hood.”

“Guess that makes you the big bad wolf.”

“Well, I am bad. Badass.” I said cocky.

“Mm. Don’t I know it.” Chloe pulled me closer to her and ran her free hand along my collarbone teasing me.

“All right! Aca-bitches get with your group because it’s time to vocal.” Said the announcer. Me and Chloe raced to join the rest of the Bellas. “Welcome to the Riff-Off!” Everyone cheered. “Let’s see our first category…” The randomizer wheel span and landed on one of my least favorite. “Ladies of the eighties!”

Just as Aubrey was about to step in to start it off, the Trembles’ leader, Bumper, started stomping and clapping the rhythm to “Hey Mickey.” Aubrey just scoff, said whatever, and walked back to us as the next group cut in on beat with “Like a virgin.” Aubrey started talking to the group but didn’t say anything. Suddenly she was singing “Hit me with your best shot” until some rando cut in with some random song I know no one ever heard. She was “cut off”.

The next category was songs about sex, and I looked over at Chloe who had a blank face. CR cut in first though with a song before I could jump in. She was dancing as well in a way that was perfect for the category. Once again, however, the Trembles cut in with “Let’s talk about sex.” The sluttiest Bella of the group, aka Stacie (still don’t know how she got in), cut him off with “I’ll make love to you” and Jesse, being his usual self, started singing “It feels like the first time.” As it get closer and closer to the word I wanted I gave Chloe one last look. She was still drawing a blank, so I jumped in.

“It’s going down!” I started rapping. I turned around mid-rap to see the rest of the Bellas awe-struck. “I think about the girl all the time.” I sang winking at Chloe who blushed. The other Bellas joined in after I did my rap. When the song was done, Chloe pulled me aside and hugged me. “Chloe,” I struggled to get out of her grip, “still not a fan of hugs.”

“Get used to it.”

“Sorry, ladies… the word you needed to match was ‘it’.” I looked at the announcer who was walking over to us. “And you…” he said pointing at me, “sang ‘it’s’. Therefore the Trembles have won!”

“I’m sorry you lost, Rebby.” Jesse said walking over.

“I never heard that rule!” Aubrey shouted at the same time. Scoff. “Whatever. Let’s just go, girls.”

“Bye, J.” I said waving to Jesse.

“Bye, Beca.” He waved back.

“I thought you said you don’t sing!” Growled Aubrey when we got away from the pool area.

“You’re right. I said I don’t sing, I never said I don’t rap.” I countered. “Rapping is how I express my current emotion.”

“Well, I think that was aca-awesome. How come you never rapped in front of me?” Chloe asked.

“One, you never asked. And two, I was always sad.”

“That was crazy, Mitchell.” Stacie commented.

“Thanks, Conrad.”

Just as I was going to get another drink I spotted Chicago....

Chapter Text

I went to grab another drink when I spotted Chicago...

"Chloe, we're leaving. Now." I growled as I dragged Chloe away from her conversion with Aubrey.

"Beca, what's going on?" Chloe asked innocently.

"Chicago." was all I could manage through my gritted teeth.

"That's why you're shaking? Becs, it's okay. He got his girl, and I got mine..." She said stroking my cheek.

"It's just... I'm afraid of him hurting you, again. You deserve happiness and I know seeing him with his new girl will hurt you. You deserve the moon and the stars, and all he gave you was pain and suffering. You deserve being kissed in the rain or under the stars. You deserve--"

"I deserve you, Becs... Didn't see you as that much of a romantic though." She laughs.

"It's true, Chloe. Te amo... Para mi significas el mundo. *I love you... You mean the world to me.* Mi amor. *My love.*"

"Aw. Te quiero mucho, Becs. *I love you so much, Becs.*"

"Well! If it isn't my favorite ex and her sorry little rebound!" A drunk voice shouted next to us. It was Chicago.

"I am not her rebound!" I growled, shaking furiously.

"Becs, calmate. *calm down.* Hello, Chicago. You're not suppose to be here, as you are not a collage or high school student." Chloe said boldly.

"Any party with booze has me there!"

"Chicago, I will politely ask you to leave before I call the security."

"Make me!"

I could hold it in me anymore and I pounced at him transforming in mid air, which was my biggest mistake...

Chapter Text

"Beca!" Shout Chloe behind me. When I noticed what happened I was scared. I had Chicago pinned to the ground with my paw. "Beca, let him go!"

I lifted my paw and lowered my head as I walked back to Chloe's side. She stroked my back as Chicago got up growled and stormed off.

"Chloe, get away from her!" Aubrey screamed. Aubrey started to pull Chloe away from me and a grabbed Chloe's jacket with my mouth pulling her back my way, when Stacie jumped in.

"She won't hurt her, Bree. I know Beca. She could never hurt Chloe even if she was forced or wanted to. She has to big a soft side for Chloe."

I nudged Stacie's hand with my nose as a thank you for I didn't want to turn back in front of everyone exposing my body.

"A werewolf would be handy... Fine."

"I guess now would be a great time to mention I'm a vampire..." Stacie said.

"That was really risky, Becs."

"I know, I know. But I'd rather risk everything and save you than see you hurt by him."

"I know you would and I love you for that. Now let's go get what's left of your clothes. How do you still own clothing?" I just shrugged.

"Rebby!" Jesse shouted. I turned around and he picked me up spinning around hugging me. "I'm so glad you're safe. Could you imagine if you got hurt. I'd be so sad. I mean I am like your older brother."

"I was just worried about Chlo."

"You mean Ocean Eyes over there?"

"Hey, back off, Jesse." I teased. "Thanks for caring about me though."

"Of course, Rebby. How's Pops?"

"Still bitching about the whole imprinting thing. What a homophob."

"Well, if you ever need a place to stay for a little my door is always open."

"Thanks, J. How's Vida?" Vida was Jesse's younger sister who got attacked by a violent pack of wolves for trespassing on their territory. She just turned four and she was three when it happened.

"She's still hurt and terrorified to go outside, but she still loves you Reb. You're her hero, literally." I did attack the wolves who hurt my little princess. Vida is just the sweetest.

"I'll come by tomorrow to see her."

"She'd love that."

"Where are we going tomorrow?" Chloe asked.

"I'm going to Jesse's to see little Vida."

"Okay. Hey, we need to go. Amy got a little too drunk..."

"Bye, Jesse."

The next day we arrived at Jesse's. I had a bag of toys and a tiara in my hands, ready to spoil my favorite little girl.

"Jesse! We're here!" I said opening the door.

"Beca!" Vida screamed and came running towards me.

"There she is!" I picked her up while spinning around. "Hey, little princess."

"Did you bring presents?"

"I always do, but first I want you to meet someone. Vida, this is Chloe."

"Are you Beca's girlfriend?"

"Yes, I am. It's nice to meet you, your highness." Chloe said bowing. Vida giggled and reached for the crown in my bag.

"Here, princess." I place the crown on her head and handed her the bag of gifts.

"Rebeca, what a lovely surprise." Mrs. Swanson said walking in hold her back.

"Hello, Mother. How's the baby?" I asked.

"Due any minute." She said.

"Mother, this is Chloe. Chloe this is Jesse's mom."

"It's nice to meet you, dear." Mother said shaking Chloe's hand.

"Nice to meet you, too..."

"Call me Mother, dear. Rebeca can you help Jesse in the kitchen, please."

"Sure, Mother."

Once the food was made, I went to play with Vida.

"Hey, Vida? You want a ride on my bike?"

"Yeah! Can I mom?"

"Just be safe."

"I will!"

We got back with no problem, but when we got inside it was a different story... Mother was going into labor!
