Summary
“'Sejanus, at least you have a life. So these next four years have you stuck under the thumb of Dr. Gaul? Use that time to come up with a plan for what happens in that fifth year. So your father is disappointed in you? Use that as an opportunity to do what you want without fear of his judgment. View this as a key, not a shackle.'
The words are spoken matter-of-factly, as if this is the most obvious solution in the world. And perhaps to Coryo, ever the pragmatist, it is. Sejanus can feel the tension dissipate from within him as a chuckle, the first in weeks, leaves his lips unbidden.
'You make it sound so easy.'
'Maybe it’s not,' Coryo agrees. 'But when has something like that ever stopped you?'"
OR
Rather than allowing his son to be sent to the districts as a Peacekeeper, Strabo Plinth convinces Dr. Gaul that his son can be better monitored in the Capitol. This changes everything and also changes absolutely nothing at all.

Summary
One night, Robin spots a kid with an overnight bag on a rooftop, and he jumps to the obvious conclusion: the kid's trying to run away. The kid is doing a really bad job of it, though, and that's the sort of thing Robin just has to correct.
Except the kid is Tim Drake, and Tim isn't actually trying to run away. But "running away" does sound a little better than "stalking bat-themed vigilantes through the crime-infested streets of Gotham every night." So he lets Robin have this one.
Besides, that's the end of it, right? Robin might have found Tim once, but no one ever looks for Tim a second time. Robin can think whatever he wants. They'll never see each other again.
(They see each other again.)

Summary
Tim never knows when his parents will be there for him, can’t control when he gets a hug from his mom, or an encouraging word from his dad, but he can control this. He can make himself so full that there’s no room for the emptiness—so warm that he can’t possibly feel cold.
---
Tim uses food to cope with his feelings. It’s not a problem. It’s just a thing.

Summary
He has never argued with a punishment, not since he was a toddler, if then. Surely she’ll listen, surely she’ll see this is too harsh, that he wouldn’t be disrespecting her like this if he was simply sulking over not getting his way. He needs that food, needs to be able to eat enough if he wants to be Robin.
He’s been hungry before, but back then, it never mattered if he was a little weak or dizzy. It never risked his life or the life of his partner when he was a kid.
She turns, sighing softly and pursing her lips. She reaches out to pat his cheek, and for a moment his heart soars hopefully, and he barely restrains himself from leaning into the rare bit of contact and soaking up his mother’s touch. “Oh, Timothy,” she tuts. “This is for the best. And honestly, I think it’s wise for you to cut down a bit on the snacks. I’d hate to have to listen to anyone tittering at the next gala that you’re getting chubby.”
And without another backwards glance, she turns and heads upstairs, leaving Tim alone and frozen at the bottom of the steps.

“Anyway, as fun as it’s been crying like a baby twice a week, I cancelled the rest of my sessions after the next one. I don’t have insurance and I’m basically over the hump, I think.”
“You’re.” Lawrence looks around desperately as if the furniture might agree with him. “It’s been two months, Adam. You’re not ‘over the hump’ in two months.”
Adam and Lawrence both lived. Here's how they get their shit together afterwards.

Bookmarker's Notes
This fic was on my mind constantly the first time I read it all the way through. It has such good characterization and progression within it. I love seeing the development of Adam and Lawrence’s relationship and seeing Adam and Amanda form a friendship was also so so sweet. This fic is popular in the fandom for good reason. I highly recommend any Saw/chainshipping fan read it.

Bookmarker's Notes
Adam dies in the bathroom… and then he wakes up. Aka Adam goes through a time loop, finding himself waking up in the same dingy bathroom with Lawrence shackled to the same pipe across the room. He’s not sure what exactly the conditions of the loop are, but after a while he does know that he’s not allowing it to end until he and Lawrence leave together.
This fic is exactly what I wanted after coming out of the first few movies and it is really everything I ever wanted and more. Canon typical violence but also… it’s a canon divergent Saw AU, what were you expecting?

Summary
Jason didn’t know when it started. If he thought about it, he remembered the bright light that surrounded his mom in her last days. After that, he noticed the way some people lit up, outlined in a growing brightness that emitted from the edges of their beings. The brighter the individual, the closer they were to death.
At the parties that Bruce insisted on dragging him to, he expected the dim light from the tired old businessmen who drank too much and were limping closer to their ends, glowing a little more every time Jason saw them.
What he did not expect was for the 12-year-old neighbor kid to light up like a damn Christmas tree the second Jason laid his eyes on him.

Bookmarker's Notes
Jason can see when people are near death, and the newest person on his radar is the neighbor kid Tim Drake. The problem is, he just can’t figure out what exactly it is that he needs to save Tim from.
Full of brotherly bonding and good hurt/comfort. I really enjoyed reading this one and seeing a “Tim joins the Batfam early” fic told more from Jason’s point of view. Also I really like this idea of Jason having a meta power that’s a danger sense

Summary
Tim is an independent, clever, and super mature eleven-year-old. Unfortunately, his dopey neighbor, Bruce, can’t seem to understand that.
When he decides to disappear on a “solo camping trip” and run away to Canada, he figures it’s the perfect plan that will make everybody happy. He didn’t expect the Waynes would tag along with him and ruin everything.
A six-chaptered tale filled with identity shenanigans, s’mores, soon-to-be-brothers, and a kid who is in desperate need of a new family.

Bookmarker's Notes
In a universe where Tim doesn’t know that the Waynes are Gotham’s vigilantes, he still finds a way into their family.
This story is insanely funny (the emails included at the end of each chapter never failed to make me crack up) but also is very very touching. Tim thinks he’s a master planner (and to be fair, he does briefly manage to pull one over on the Waynes) but in actuality, he’s just a child whose schemes only worked this long because no one cared to look at them very hard. Also seeing Tim have to interact with Brucie Wayne without knowing he’s Batman was a very fun angle to see

Summary
“Please,” Coriolanus whispers. “Trust me.”
Sejanus seems a moment away from agreeing. Coriolanus can see the fight that’s bled out of his bones, can see the sorrow and numbness that’s taken it’s place.
His eyes find Coriolanus’s, and the moment they do, Coriolanus is filled with a feeling he can’t quite place.
He reaches out, taking Sejanus’s face in his hands. And then he’s closing the gap between them, his eyes squeezing shut as he crushes their lips together.
Or: How the scene in the arena could’ve gone, if the writers gave in to Coriolanus’s obvious desire to kiss Sejanus (and the aftermath that would follow)

Bookmarker's Notes
The arena scene from the movie except Coriolanus and Sejanus kiss during it. Afterwards, Sejanus invites Coriolanus back to his place to patch him up, an offer he’s unable to refuse.
The author does a really good job with Coriolanus’ internal dialogue. Honestly, if this had happened in the book I wouldn’t have even questioned it, it works so seamlessly.
