For Inktober 2017 I decided to draw a picture for each of the first 30 chapters of Owlet's The Long Road Begins at Home.

I'll post these in batches over the next few days.

“Hey,” he tries, “hey darlin’, can you pass me the milk?”

“Oh sure,” Sam responds after a long pause. “Here you go. Sweetie.”

“Thanks, hon, you’re a real doll,” Bucky drawls, and pours himself another bowl of cereal, tops up his coffee, takes a mouthful of milk straight from the carton just for good measure. Sam narrows his eyes.

“That’s disgusting,” he sighs, and Bucky makes deliberate eye contact, swallows another mouthful. Sam holds his gaze. “Cupcake, come on, I gotta drink that shit, stop putting your mouth all over it.”

“I’ll put my mouth all over wherever I want,” Bucky tells him. “Sweetheart.”

“Will you just,” Sam mutters, and sips his black coffee like he’s totally unruffled, and Bucky is startled to discover that he’s the one who’s blushing. Shit. Maybe this was a tactical error.

After New York—after he’s signed back up, now he’s back in the fight, now that he’s an Avenger—they take his phone back, swap it for something new. Not secure enough, apparently, not a phone for an active agent. The replacement is a Starkphone, sleek and glossy, more locked down. There are security protocols he has to follow. No public wi-fi. Two-point thumbprint and ID code to unlock the screen. Phone on the table for every meeting, and face-down at all times.

He doesn’t bother getting a personal phone. Who would he call?

...Because apparently I need to write analyses of important Avpol-related things, and because ao3 apparently allows us to post meta. I'll add new "chapters" whenever I write fannish things that aren't fanfics.

    Included so far:
1.) David Pro is pro-Avpol: An illustrated guide
2.) Araki's inspiration for Avdol & Polnareff? "Coming to America" & "Streets of Fire"
3.) "Who is Mohammed Avdol?" What we know from canon
4.) Avdol *was* Van Helsing—but then Araki got distracted (and that's awesome)
5.) The March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake & Araki Hirohiko's art: 8 years later
6.) The duality of Polnareff: A man whose broken heart keeps on beating

    Summary

It’s almost worse, Jotaro thinks, that Kakyoin actually means it. Kakyoin really literally actually wants to go on a roadtrip vacation to tour and sightsee with the guy he tried to assassinate and who then proceeded to beat him unconscious.

What the fuck is wrong with this guy.

Jotaro Kujo’s no good, very bad road trip to hell Dio’s mansion with Evil Kakyoin.

Or, the one where Kakyoin arrives to kill Jotaro before Joseph and Avdol can arrive to explain things, confusion ensues, and Kakyoin and Jotaro make their merry way to Egypt before anyone can figure out what’s happening at all.
