It's why he could sit in the middle of a camp of Mounties, eating a bowl of God-is-this-polar-bear-stew and say, hey, buddy, got an idea. Let's go get that Hand of Franklin. I cannot think of anything more unlikely, so I'm pretty sure we'll find it.

The fic that was so good i had to read it twice! Definitely one of the better DS fics around.

Perfect meld of honest lightheartedness, heartaching potential, snarkiness that barely obscures the mountains of feelings...and *lovely* intimacy.

    What's in the box:
IC dialogue and characterization! Good wilderness scenes & mood setting! Intimacies! Survival skills! Delicious awkwardness! Sexually assertive/Dominant!Fraser (yes, gawd) Dief does his thing!

Oh dear, a sparkling, fun jaunt --and no sex in sight. What has become of me?

And who'd-a-thunk that it was the first (i think?) and only (i THINK?!) Ds omegaverse story which led me here?! --you should read that one too!

Years after the fact, this fandom continues to bring me great joy.

    “You do like dog sledding.”

“Yeah, I like it fine, but I will be honest with you here. I did not emigrate to Canada for the dogsledding, Fraser. It was a nice bonus, I grant you, but I’m here for - ” Ray paused, gaze firmly in front of him. “I’m here ‘cause a you, y’know. Which I did not in so many words tell my parents, no.”

Some fics are so lovely that they leave you with a warm n' fuzzy glow.

    Bookmarker's Notes

It's like living a season in the life (struggles, hopes, efforts, awakenings) of this ragtag bunch.

I got the same sense of unfairness, evil triumphing over good, and rolling doom i got when watching Dancer in the Dark!--and that movie exhausted me...that's why it's strange that i found it...Simply charming.

A Prairie AU turned fever dream nightmare. Heartbreaking, yes. But, utterly charming.

    What's here?
Gothic levels of brooding! sleigh rides! winter storms! bed sharing! blistering summer heat! toil! tension! gunshots! emotional coupling! birth! death! disintegrating family! JMW Turner! John Donne! Love!

    Really, what's not here?
