    Summary

    “You know how this ends.”

The bard swallows and summons up the mask of confidence better suited to wooing crowds. “One can only hope it includes an end to stupid questions.”

They jerk the chair he’s chained to backwards and tilt it until the only thing keeping it upright are their hands. Behind him, another drags the tub into place. He pants, struggling through the panic and the petty need to keep them from knowing that they’re getting to him. He knows it’s a losing battle.

“Last chance, bard,” the hated voice whispers into his ear.

He fills his lungs with the fetid smelling air of the prison and tries to find the resolve that had been enough to make him face Nilfgaard alone.

A sigh. “Have it your way.”

The water closes over his head.

    Summary

The malodour was almost unbearable as he opened the door with one hand and held his breath behind his other hand. His facial features were scrunched—and so it took him longer than he should have to see the horrifying, scaly, massive corpse blocking his front door.
With slitted eyes, he glimpsed row upon row of iridescent scales splattered with drying blood. Long, thin spikes on a humped back. Sharp, conical teeth in gaping jaws. Very sharp, deadly
    teeth
He screamed at the top of his voice. Slammed the door shut and staggered away.
      He shrieked, "Monster!"

His solitary existence is uneventful, until he wakes up one day to find a dead wyvern on his doorstep, left there by an even more menacing creature. But when the creature later returns to his cottage, he discovers that it isn't so menacing after all--and befriends it.

    Summary

Witchers don’t have soulmates. That’s been true for as long as Geralt’s been alive, a necessary sacrifice for a life spent on the Path. There’s no place for the attachments that humans define themselves by.

It may not be worth it to Geralt, but love has always been the single most motivating force in the world for Jaskier. Unrequited or not, he’s a bard, and there’s a story to be told. He’ll be the one to tell it.

(Who’s the more tragic figure here? The loved or the unloving?)

Jaskier and Geralt are soulmates, bound by the Red String of Fate. But just because it's written in the stars doesn't mean it's an easy path to tread, and it takes more than a nudge from fate to make a soul-bond work. Between the way Geralt feels about destiny, and the trials and tribulations of the path they have to trudge, it's going to be one hell of an adventure.

    Summary

“I need you to be my husband.”

Geralt’s thoughts came to a screeching halt and his mouth went dry. He couldn’t have heard correctly. All of those stupid wishes and hopeless dreams must have made him mishear.

“Not really, of course,” Jaskier added hastily and rubbed his fingers together. “I… please don’t be mad at me, Geralt.”

Geralt’s brows knitted together and his heart sank. “What did you do?”
“I – I might have said that we were married.”

Or: When some bigoted man insists that Geralt can’t feel love, Jaskier blurts out that they are married - which they very much aren’t. So naturally, Geralt and Jaskier have to pretend to be husbands to convince people that Geralt is lovable, though no one doubts that more than Geralt himself.

    Summary

Being thrown back in time one hundred and fifty years? Not the weirdest thing to happen to Tony. Going so far back he needs a message from future-Thor and the help of Asgard to try and get him back? Still weird, but really useful.

Only, despite meeting the never-before-heard-of talented and magical brother Loki, it doesn't look like he'll be getting back in a hurry. This wouldn't be a problem except, he not only has a life and a girlfriend back in the future, but he and Loki are getting along better than anyone he's ever met. They're connecting in ways that are dangerous.

And, if those weren't big enough problems, there is also the ever present worry: what if I can't get back home?
