Yoongi wasn’t sure when it started. It just began one day, subtle touches at first until it became blatantly noticeable and Yoongi couldn’t remember a day without it.
Maybe it was the day that the three of them – Hoseok, Jimin and himself – had taken a trip to the supermarket and he had been trying to push the trolley around the shop quickly and get everything on their (very long) shopping list before the store shut. It was pushing nine, he had been in the studio all day with Namjoon and he’d only remembered he had told his roommates that he’d go shopping with them when the clock struck eight.
It was normally a nightmare when the three of them went shopping together. Yoongi took charge of the trolley (or the basket if it was a quick stop off, but that was rarely the case, with three people living in the same apartment they went through food quickly) and held the list in his hand as he led them around. Jimin and Hoseok tended to linger behind him, Hoseok picking up every other item and waving it in front of Yoongi's face. Jimin tended to be a little more reserved, but it didn’t stop him from joining in with Hoseok when he was in the mood too. It was on those days that Yoongi felt like a father carting his kids around the shop, shooting them glares and telling them to cut it out whenever another shopper looked at them because they were making too much noise.
It was late in the day though, and Hoseok and Jimin both tired after practicing for their upcoming dance showcase. Yoongi was halfway through the shopping list and the pair were padding along behind him, quietly talking between themselves. He paid them no mind, happy to shop in silence. It just meant he was ten times more efficient, moving from aisle to aisle and placing everything they needed in the trolley. Beef because Seokjin was planning on coming over and they needed to make it look like they didn't just live off of ramen and takeout, fresh fruit because Jimin had it with everything - blending it into smoothies, eating it for breakfast, lunch or as an afternoon snack.
“Hyung are we nearly done?” Jimin asked, moving up besides Yoongi and linking their arms together.
Yoongi blinked in surprise, looking down at Jimin who paid him no attention and rested his head on Yoongi’s arm as he clung on tight. The pair must have been more tired than Yoongi thought – Jimin tended to cling to Hoseok when he was feeling affectionate or tired, so whenever Jimin made the decision to come to him it always surprised him a little. He felt his cheeks heat up as he looked down at the way Jimin was resting on his arm, eyes half closed and lips pressed into a pout. It was cute.
“Nearly done,” Yoongi told him, pushing the trolley forward and looking at the types of tea on the shelf in front of him. Both Hoseok and Jimin were tea addicts - they said there was nothing better to drink after a long practice to rejuvenate them and help them destress.
It was then that Hoseok moved in on his other side, resting his chin on Yoongi’s shoulder with a sigh. “Just grab the green tea,” Hoseok said. “I think we still have lavender in the house.”
“Mm, I think he’s right,” Jimin said, lifting his head to look at the tea on the shelf. “Maybe honey and lemon too? I know Tae’s got a drama rehearsal coming up soon, his throat’s going to be rough.”
“Since when did we start catering to the masses?” Yoongi muttered and Hoseok snorted next to his ear.
“Since always hyung,” He said. “Get that too then.”
Yoongi reached forward with a sigh, picking up the green tea and the honey and lemon from the shelf and moving to put them into the trolley. It was then that he noticed a woman standing a little further down the aisle giving them a funny look. They made eye contact and she sniffed before turning away.
“What’s her problem?” He muttered under his breath as he dropped the tea on top of the beef, pushing the trolley past her and into the next aisle.
Jimin was still clinging to his arm and Hoseok’s head had slipped off of his shoulder when he started moving, so instead he had decided on resting an arm around Yoongi’s shoulder instead.
“She probably thinks there’s something funky going down between the three of us,” Hoseok wiggled his eyebrows. “Hey lady-!”
Yoongi elbowed him in the stomach. “Shut the fuck up we don’t need to get into an argument with a stranger.”
“Yeah,” Jimin piped up, lifting his head, “Especially not after what happened last time.”
Hoseok shrugged his shoulders. “Hey, that guy was downright rude, I wasn’t going to let him get away with talking to Jiminie like that.”
“My kind prince,” Jimin said, raising a hand to his forehead and pretending to swoon.
Hoseok winked at him and Jimin laughed. Yoongi couldn’t help but smile, shaking his head as he pushed the trolley down the final aisle and finally to the till. The pair moved away from him, helping put the items onto the conveyer belt and proceeding to go and start packing the bags.
Yoongi spotted the woman out of the corner of his eye, glancing in their direction a final time before she left the shop. He was comfortable with the way Jimin and Hoseok threw their arms around him – they were naturally affectionate people and it was something that he had grown used to, something which sent a warm feeling to his heart. It didn't particularly faze him that the woman had given them a funny look, it had just made him more aware of the pair who were pressed close against his body and that sent a tingling feeling to his stomach. Yoongi pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind, he'd deal with them later (read: possibly never) as he paid for their things before saying goodbye to the cashier, grabbing the bags that he had been left to carry and following Jimin and Hoseok out to his car.
“I can’t wait to go home,” Jimin groaned as he handed Yoongi the bags to put in the boot, slowly walking around the backdoor of the car and climbing inside. “I’m going straight to bed.”
“You need to eat,” Hoseok told him, passing Yoongi the last of the bags and walking around to the passenger seat.
“I will,” Jimin said with a yawn.
Yoongi climbed into the driver’s seat and started up the car. The journey back was quiet, the radio filling the silence. Yoongi glanced in the rear view mirror to see Jimin asleep in the backseat and he nudged Hoseok who looked back and smiled.
“He danced non-stop today,” Hoseok said quietly, tapping the beat of the song out on his thigh with his palms. “I was half surprised he didn't pass out when we were walking around the shop.”
“I think he nearly did," Yoongi said, looking over to Hoseok as they came to a red light. "The two of you need more rest."
“Soon, soon,” Hoseok told him. “After the showcase this weekend. Then we can kick back and relax for a few weeks.”
They fell into silence again as Yoongi drove down the final few streets until they reached their apartment. Hoseok shook Jimin awake, the latter stumbling out of the car and taking hold of the two carrier bags Yoongi held in his direction. Hoseok and Yoongi split the rest between them, Yoongi keeping his fingers crossed that the lift hadn't broken down like it seemed to be doing every other week at the moment. They were in luck though, it was working just fine, and he bundled everyone inside before pressing the button for the fourth floor.
As they exited the lift and reached their front door, Yoongi put the shopping bags down at his feet as he searched his pockets for his keys. He heard Jimin groan behind him and then felt Jimin rest his forehead on his back.
“Hyung just use mine,” Hoseok said, pulling his keys out of his pocket and reaching over the two of them so that he could put the key into the lock.
Yoongi rolled his eyes as Hoseok pushed his shoulder and hurried them into the apartment. Jimin went straight to the kitchen, ditching the bags on the counter and then waved at Yoongi and Hoseok, disappearing into his room and shutting the door lightly behind him.
“He just left us to do all the unpacking,” Yoongi murmured at the same time Hoseok frowned and said, “I told him to eat.”
They exchanged a look and then Yoongi sighed, moving to empty the carrier bags as fast as he could. Jimin had the right idea – the sooner he got into bed and slept the better. When Yoongi finished, Hoseok threw his arms over Yoongi’s shoulders, clinging onto Yoongi’s back.
“Get off me you asshole,” Yoongi said, trying to shake him off as he started to walk, Hoseok clinging on behind him.
“Nope,” Hoseok laughed and he jumped, wrapping his legs around Yoongi’s waist and sending Yoongi stumbling forward. "Carry me."
Yoongi could feel his cheeks heating up, had no doubt the tips of his ears were red. “Seriously Hoseok?”
“What?” Hoseok asked, resting his chin on Yoongi’s shoulder and wrapping his arms tighter around Yoongi’s neck in order to make sure that he didn’t fall off. Yoongi didn’t have to turn his head to know that he was grinning. "Don't you love me?"
Yoongi sighed and shook his head as he began to plod along, out of the kitchen and towards Hoseok’s room, kicking open the door and walking inside. Yoongi dropped Hoseok onto the bed and he landed with a yelp, glaring up at Yoongi.
“You’re evil,” He said, kicking out in Yoongi’s direction, but he missed as Yoongi jumped back to avoid his feet.
Yoongi grinned at him and waved over his shoulder as he left. “Night Hoseok.”
He heard Hoseok mumble, “Night jerk,” as he closed the door behind him.
It seemed to pick up after that, the excessive amounts of touching. A hand placed on the base of his back when they were out in a crowd, fingers dancing across his bare arm in the evening when he was sprawled on the sofa with Jimin after a long day at work and Hoseok’s light grip on the back of his neck, pulling him close so that their foreheads were touching as Hoseok thanked him for coming to the dance showcase. Each time it happened Yoongi would freeze up in surprise, his face would become heated and red and his palms clammy. He knew why he was reacting like that; he just wasn’t quite ready to admit it to himself just yet. Especially not when this was just them, Hoseok and Jimin were always like this – with him, with others, with each other, they were always touching somebody. How did he know that they were feeling the same way he was, that this wasn't just them touching him because they needed affection and he was, well, there?
He was having another internal debate with himself when Jimin came into the kitchen, barefooted and barelegged, padding across the wooden floor and put his empty glass in the sink.
It was a Sunday – the dance showcases were over, Jimin’s college workload had been light this weekend and even Yoongi hadn’t spent as much time pouring over his laptop and altering his compositions as he normally would. All in all, the past two days had been rather quiet and tranquil.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Jimin asked, resting his elbows on the breakfast bar opposite where Yoongi was sat and placing his chin in his hands.
Yoongi waved his hand. “Just the usual,” He said.
Jimin shrugged and made his way around the counter to stand at Yoongi’s side, picking an apple out of the fruit bowl next to Yoongi and tossing it into the air once.
“Maybe you should take some time off of work,” Jimin suggested. “You never use your holiday days.”
Yoongi shook his head. “I’ve got deadlines coming up, I can’t take a break now. Besides, I enjoy my work. Sometimes it just gets a little-“
“Overwhelming?” Jimin threw an arm around Yoongi’s shoulders, hand curving down to rest on Yoongi’s collarbones, exposed by his baggy white t-shirt. Jimin had to stand on his tip toes in order to reach Yoongi’s height on the bar stool. “We should all go away in the summer. Road trip.”
“I think being trapped in a small space with all of you would only be more overwhelming,” Yoongi told him and Jimin laughed.
“That’s probably true.” He pulled his arm back, fingers brushing against the back of Yoongi’s neck as he did so and making Yoongi shiver, something he hoped Jimin hadn’t picked up on.
Jimin took a bite of his apple. “Tae and Jungkookie are coming over in an hour or so,” He said. “Just a heads up.”
“Great,” Yoongi said, hopping off of the stool so that he was in front of Jimin. “Time to retreat to my room now then."
Jimin grinned at Yoongi, reaching forward to punch his arm lightly. It was cute, the way he found even the smallest things amusing. Yoongi ignored the way that his oversized t-shirt hung low on his chest, ending halfway down his distracting thighs and the way that his kissable lips were pressed into the faintest of pouts in favour of picking up the lukewarm cup of coffee that he had been drinking before Jimin had come into the kitchen and turning to walk out of the room.
“Have fun!” He said over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of Jimin’s bright smile once again before Yoongi reached his room.
Yoongi had fallen asleep not long after he had reached his room, the apartment quiet and calm, only to wake up to loud clapping and laughing coming from the living room. He rolled onto his front, buried his face into his pillow and groaned.
He took a minute to compose himself before sighing and getting out of bed, checking his refection in the mirror on his desk and rubbing at his eyes before leaving the room.
Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook were spread across the floor, playing a game that Yoongi vaguely recognised on the games console. Taehyung was lying on a bunch of pillows, Jungkook sat between the gap in-between his legs and Jimin sat at Taehyung’s side. Hoseok was sat on the sofa furthest away from the TV, phone in hand and looking up over it at them to laugh whenever one of them lost part of their life or died.
Yoongi walked over and Hoseok looked up, shooting him a smile and shifting so that Yoongi could sit down next to him. Yoongi fell down onto the sofa with a sigh and curled his legs up underneath him.
Jimin, sat closest to their sofa, turned his head then and smiled at Yoongi apologetically. “Did we wake you up?”
Taehyung and Jungkook looked over then (only briefly, they didn’t want to risk an enemy creeping up on them and causing them to lose more of their lives) and greeted him.
“No,” Yoongi said, and the slight crease in Jimin’s eyebrows evened out.
“Jimin told me about his plan for all of us to go on a road trip,” Hoseok said to Yoongi, shuffling closer and wrapping his arm around Yoongi so that he could pull Yoongi’s head down and rest it on his shoulder. “I’m down.”
“Road trip?” Taehyung asked, eyes fixed on the screen.
Yoongi bit his lip. Hoseok didn’t even realise what he was doing. It was something he would have normally been doing to Jimin if he had been in Yoongi’s place – sleepy following an afternoon nap - but not this time. This time it was Yoongi, and he was confused because he liked it, he liked it so much. Hoseok and Jimin’s warm embrace was comforting and he felt at home. He sighed, shutting his eyes and shuffling into a more comfortable position.
“Yeah,” Jimin said. “Us five, Namjoon hyung and Seokjin hyung.”
“When would we go?” Jungkook asked. “Where would we go?”
“Sometime in the summer when the term’s up,” Jimin said. “As for where, I have no idea? Any suggestions? We should message Seokjin hyung and Namjoon hyung too, see if they have any good ideas.”
“Seokjin hyung will want to go to the beach,” Hoseok said, and Yoongi wondered if Hoseok had realised he had started drawing faint circles on Yoongi’s skin with his fingertips. It was soothing – Yoongi could feel himself being pulled towards sleep again.
“The beach sounds good!” Taehyung exclaimed, before proceeding to swear. “I swear this guy is out to get me.”
“It’s been years since I went to the beach,” Jungkook said. “I think the last time I went I wasn’t even in high school yet. Didn’t we go together, Jimin hyung?”
Jimin hummed. “Yeah, Jihyun came along too. Wow, that was a long time ago. We should go to the beach.”
“Someone should probably message the hyungs,” Jungkook pointed out.
“I’ll do it,” Hoseok said. “What do you think Yoongi hyung?”
“Hm?” Yoongi sat up a bit, opening his eyes to see everyone in the room looking at him. The game on the TV was paused and although Jimin was looking at him normally, Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to be staring at him with unreadable expressions on their face. “I’m not fussed, wherever.”
“Beach it is then,” Hoseok said, waving his phone in the air. “Seokjin hyung said he thinks it’s a good idea.”
Jimin clasped his hands together. “Great! I’ll start looking stuff up tomorrow, see what there is.”
They turned back to their game then and Hoseok patted Yoongi’s shoulder, rising to stand from the sofa. As soon as he was gone, Yoongi missed his warmth.
It had been a long time since the seven of them had got together to relax. Too long if Seokjin’s lengthy hugs upon their arrival at the restaurant were anything to go buy. Yoongi was squashed in between Hoseok and Jimin - just his luck - with Namjoon directly across from him. Seokjin began quizzing Yoongi about whether he was getting to bed earlier instead working until the early hours of the morning (he was and Seokjin was glad to hear it. Yoongi had to roll his eyes - was only a few months younger than Seokjin but he still mothered him like he did the maknaes sometimes), asking Hoseok whether he was planning on teaching any new dance classes in the upcoming weeks and asking how things were going at university for Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook.
Yoongi took charge of grilling the meet, glaring at Namjoon over the table whenever his hand movements got a little too erratic. There had been too many close calls featuring Namjoon and fire and Yoongi wasn’t risking the chance of an accident happening, not tonight. He was drinking in moderation, too focused on making sure that the meat was cooked to perfection and chatting with the others at the table. Yoongi was able to handle his liquor better than Jimin, who was already starting to giggle at everything, bringing his hand up to his mouth and leaning his head on Yoongi’s shoulder whenever he laughed. At least in the dim lights of the room Yoongi could pass off his warm cheeks as a result of the hot grill in front of him. Hoseok too was starting to seem more tipsy than not, his loud laughter seeming even more raucous than normal. Yoongi shook his head, laughing when Jungkook recounted a story from earlier in the week and watching fondly as both Hoseok and Jimin began to clap their hands, unable to contain their laughter.
As the meal progressed Yoongi could feel himself get lighter (not literally, the amount of meat he had eaten would suggest anything but that), his inhibitions fading away as he took a swig from the (third? Fourth? Fifth?) drink in his hand. He laughed along with the others and leant into the touch of Hoseok who had a hand on Yoongi’s thigh, his fingers drumming rhythms upon it. Yoongi’s mind was screaming at him, yelling that Hoseok’s hand was on his thigh, but he pushed the thoughts away, knowing that in this state he was liable to bring it up in conversation if he wasn’t careful and he really wasn't ready for that to happen just yet. Jimin was pressed against his other side, head resting on Yoongi’s shoulder as he conversed with Jungkook, the satoori in their accents stronger than ever. Taehyung reached over the table to take Jimin’s half-finished bottle of beer, taking a sip for himself before replacing it as Jimin sat up straight and whined at him.
“Get your own!” Jimin said, scowling at him across the table for all of two seconds before he reverted back into the bundle of sunshine he was and was smiling again, his bottle in hand as he settled back down to rest against Yoongi.
Taehyung’s eyes flickered to him, an eyebrow raised as he glanced at the way the three of them were pressed together.
Yoongi froze. Taehyung knew, he had to. What exactly it was he knew, Yoongi wasn't entirely sure, but he had to know something, what with the way he looked at the three of them.
“I have to go pee,” Yoongi said suddenly, causing the table to pause in conversation for a moment and turn to him as he remained seated.
“Well go on then,” Hoseok said, patting at his thigh. “No-one’s stopping you.”
Yoongi stood, pulling a face at Hoseok who grinned back at him, and made his escape to the bathroom. The bathroom was a lot cooler than the restaurant and he took a moment to calm himself. A glance in the mirror told him his cheeks were pink and he groaned as he walked into a toilet stall.
Yoongi wanted affection – specifically affection from Hoseok and Jimin. The sudden increase in it was sending his heart racing, making his stomach flutter and he couldn’t deny how nice it felt. But how on earth was he going to go about bringing it up to them? "Hey, fancy holding my hand and snuggling with me permanently?" or “Hey would you mind if I kissed you because I really really want to”. What if they weren't interested in him that way at all? He exhaled, washing his hands and sticking them under the dryer. He needed to take a deep breath, get out there and enjoy the rest of the night. He would deal with his internal conflict at a time more appropriate, like when he was decidedly more sober.
As he made his way back to the table, Hoseok caught his eye and smiled brightly at him. Yoongi smiled back and the fluttering started all over again.
"So how is everything on your end?" Seokjin asked.
Yoongi was sat at Seokjin’s kitchen table, cup of coffee placed in front of him after Namjoon decided that they deserved an early finish in celebration of the two tracks they had finished up. Yoongi had followed him back to his and Seokjin’s place, knowing that at his own apartment, Hoseok and Jimin would probably be relaxing after a day of classes and lectures and that he would much rather be home, wrapped up in either of their arms, warm and happy and able to push away his problems, even if it was just for a short while.
"Yeah, how are the husbands?" Namjoon pipped up, and Yoongi almost choked on his drink.
"The what?" He asked, placing his mug back down on the table.
Namjoon looked up from his book then, glancing at Seokjin before looking over his glasses at Yoongi. "The husbands. Jimin and Hoseok."
"I mean, I figured that's who you meant," Yoongi said, scrunching up his nose. "But husbands? Seriously?"
Namjoon shrugged. "Taehyung started it. Something to do with the fact he rarely sees the three of you anymore and if he does, it’s when you're all together. Close together, might I add, the three of you were practically lying on top of each other when we went out for barbecue the other night."
Yoongi stared at Namjoon, grip tightening on the mug in-between his fingers.
"Namjoon's right, I was going to mention it myself but I forgot to bring it up," Seokjin said from where he was stood at the stove. "The three of you seem super close lately."
Yoongi looked down at his drink and shrugged. "I don't know. They're just more comfortable with me I guess. Happens when you live with someone."
"Very comfortable by the looks of it," Namjoon muttered, cursing when Yoongi aimed a kick at his shin under the table.
"Is there something going on between the three of you?" Seokjin asked, straightforward and to the point as per usual.
"No," Yoongi said, taking a sip from his drink in order to keep his face neutral. If Namjoon or Seokjin were any closer to him, he would have been sure they could hear how fast his heart was racing in his chest.
"Would you like there to be something going on between the three of you?" Seokjin rephrased the question, looking at Yoongi and seeing straight through his facade.
Yoongi pursed his lips together and didn't answer.
Seokjin turned back to the stove and started stirring. "It's perfectly fine if you do. You should talk to them about it though, if you don't it's only going to cause you more confusion."
"I'm confused enough as it is," Yoongi murmured after a moment, looking down at the dark coffee in his cup. "Don't think it'll make much of a difference."
"Talk to them," Seokjin repeated. "It'll do you a world of good. Won't it Namjoon?"
"Yup," Namjoon said, putting his book down and resting his chin on a palm. "Sooner the better. Longer you leave it will only mean more heartache for everyone involved."
Yoongi pulled a face. "Alright Love Doctor," He said and Seokjin snorted behind him.
“I’m serious though Yoongi,” Seokjin said. “Ask them, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Yoongi asked, keeping his eyes trained on his drink.
“What he means is that you’re not the only one who’s a little unsure on his feet,” Namjoon answered, tapping his nose. “Inside knowledge.”
Seokjin crossed the room to hit Namjoon’s shoulder. “You weren’t even there!”
“Hyung that hurt what the fuck,” Namjoon said, pressing his hand to his arm. “When did you get that strong?”
Yoongi blocked them out, frowning to himself. As far as he could tell neither Hoseok or Jimin had shown any signs of reciprocating what Yoongi was feeling, although he supposed he hadn’t made it obvious either, so he couldn’t make any assumptions as to who had given Seokjin and Namjoon the “inside knowledge”. He sighed, drawing the attention of the bickering Seokjin and Namjoon, and rubbed at his forehead with his hand. “I’m screwed.”
Seokjin walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. “You’re not, trust me.”
When Yoongi returned to the apartment, he was so lost in his thoughts that he walked straight past Hoseok, who was sat on the sofa, watching TV. His body was on autopilot, he was too busy thinking about everything that Seokjin and Namjoon had said earlier, too busy trying to arrange what he was feeling into words that he didn’t notice when Hoseok looked after him either, frowning as Yoongi plodded towards his room.
“Hyung? You’re back early,” He said and it was then that Yoongi brought himself back to reality, shaking his head clear and spinning round to face him.
“Oh, hey Hoseok, didn’t see you there.” Yoongi shuffled on the spot for a moment before adding, “Namjoon and I finished up what we were working on, he decided that we should just finish up for the day.”
“Ah,” Hoseok nodded his head. “At least this means you’ll be able to eat dinner with us tonight, I was thinking that we could have-“
“Is Jimin back?” Yoongi interrupted and Hoseok nodded his head, pointing towards Jimin’s half open bedroom door. “Could I talk to you both in the living room in like, twenty minutes?”
“Is something wrong?” Hoseok asked with another frown, rising to his feet and Yoongi shook his head.
“No, no, I just…” He sighed. “I’ll tell you in a bit, ok? And then we can talk about dinner afterwards?”
Hoseok slowly nodded his head and Yoongi took that as his que to scamper into his room and shut the door behind him, sliding down it and landing on the floor with a sigh. This was it, he couldn’t back out now. Well he could, he could just tell them something completely different instead but that would be an asshole move and he already felt bad enough for interrupting Hoseok when he was talking about dinner. He put his head in his hands and closed his eyes tight. This was it. He was doing it.
Jimin and Hoseok both looked nervous when Yoongi stepped out of his room fifteen minutes later. He’d spent the time trying to rehearse what he was going to say and getting frustrated at himself when he couldn’t find the exact words. In the end, he’d just used the time to tidy up the mess on his floor, something he’d been meaning to do for at least a week, and unpacked his workbag, setting his laptop down on his desk. Yoongi had hoped to be the first one in the living room so that he could be there to smile in reassurance at the other two when they joined him, but they had beaten him to it, he had underestimated their nerves. He took a seat on the sofa that they weren’t occupying and folded his hands in his lap.
“Are you moving out?” Was the first thing out of Jimin’s mouth, after a few seconds of them all sitting in silence.
“What, no?” Yoongi said, frowning and Jimin’s shoulders fell slightly as he relaxed. “Why would I be moving out?”
Jimin shrugged. “I don’t know. We’ve never had an apartment meeting before, my mind automatically just started thing of the worst possible reasons for why you could have called us here.”
“Huh,” Yoongi said, shaking his head. “Well, no I’m not moving out. I just wanted to talk about something.”
“Something bad?” Jimin asked and Yoongi shook his head.
“Nothing bad.” He cleared his throat. Hoseok had been silent the whole time, studying him across the room. Yoongi was finding his expression hard to read and it was making him nervous. Was this a good idea? “So, I don’t know if you two had noticed but lately the pair of you have been really affectionate towards me. I was just wondering if-“
“Do you want us to stop?” Jimin was sitting up again in his seat, a frown on his face.
“Let him finish talking,” Hoseok said quietly, touching Jimin’s arm with his hand.
Jimin sat back in his seat again, looking over at Yoongi apologetically. “Sorry hyung.”
“It’s fine,” Yoongi said. “As I was saying, I just wondered if maybe you were interested in making this a permanent thing.” Yoongi was face palming himself inside – what kind of wording was that? He sighed and tried again, looking down at the floor. “I guess what I’m trying to say is do you think you would be interested in actually dating me because I really like it when the both of you are affectionate with me and I kinda wanna kiss you both and be close to you all the time.”
He breathed in and looked up. Jimin was looking at him in what Yoongi could only describe as shock and he began to panic, wondering if he’d made the right choice. Maybe if he had taken more time to think of a coherent speech-
Then Hoseok was standing, making his way across the room and sitting on the sofa next to Yoongi, pulling him into a tight hug.
“I – what?” Yoongi was so confused.
“Jimin and I have talked before,” Hoseok said, gesturing over at Jimin to come and join them on the sofa. Jimin clambered off of the other sofa, making his way over and sitting down on the other side of Yoongi, curling up near his side. “About possibilities. Because when you’re talking to someone and you realise that they like the person you like-“
“Wait what?” Yoongi interrupted, sitting up in Hoseok’s grasp and looking back and forth between the two of them.
“What hyung is trying to say is that we both like you and we’d very much like it if the three of us could date.” Jimin said, looking between the two of them.
Yoongi froze in place, not quite able to believe what he was hearing. “Alright,” Yoongi said, almost sinking into Hoseok’s grip as all the weight left his shoulders. “Ok. Good, that’s great.”
Jimin laughed at him, leaning forward to press his lips gently to Yoongi’s (something Yoongi had been wondering about for goodness knows how long – Jimin’s lips were just as soft, even more so if possible, than he had imagined) pulling away with a smile on his face, before he lifted his head to do the same to Hoseok. Jimin laughed as he noticed the expression on Yoongi’s face when he moved back to sit down and Hoseok used the arms he had wrapped around Yoongi to squeeze his waist lightly, before reaching his hands out to pull Jimin closer too so that they were all cuddled up close together. Yoongi exhaled and closed his eyes, settling back into Hoseok's arms and letting Jimin rest his head on his chest. He felt the warmth radiate all the way through his body and he smiled, finally happy, finally content.
