Work Text:
The moment Sayo exited the student council room, she was suddenly and tightly squeezed.
“Sayo-senpai, I missed you!” Kasumi exclaimed.
“I ate lunch with you today, Kasumi-san. And there’s no need to yell, I’m right here,” Sayo replied.
“But that’s still hours I spent away from you. Maybe I should have joined the student council like Arisa.”
“It doesn’t strike me as work you’d be interested in. From what Ichigaya-san tells me, you wouldn’t be able to focus on it.”
“Yeah, but I could give you moral support or something. Like… ooh, maybe I can do that thing I saw in Arisa’s manga where I sit under your desk and lick you –
Kasumi was cut off by Sayo putting a hand over her mouth. She licked it. Not to annoy Sayo, but because she was shameless and overly affectionate.
Sayo couldn’t believe that Yukina saw Kasumi as cat-like. She was 100% a puppy.
“I will ignore Ichigaya-san’s questionable choices in reading material if you stop talking about it. For now, are you ready to come to my house for guitar practice, or do you need to stop at your own house first?” Sayo asked.
“I’m ready to visit right away! And to sleep over, too,” Kasumi replied.
“I’ve told you before, Kasumi-san, not on school nights.”
“Anyway, we should play a duet.”
“Please don’t ignore my concerns. But I suppose that playing together wouldn’t be bad.”
Kasumi’s bothering of Sayo had started as an effort to improve her guitar skills. As such, even when their relationship had evolved past that, their guitar practices tended to focus on Kasumi getting better at her own music. Once upon a time, Sayo was sure she’d have scolded Kasumi for her suggestion and told her not to get distracted.
Sayo was glad she’d grown past that.
“What if we got really good at our duet and played it live,” Kasumi dreamed out loud.
“Roselia and Popipa do a lot of joint performances, so I think that it should be possible to work something out. But only if you’re willing to fully devote yourself and play this perfectly,” Sayo replied.
“Of course, Sayo-senpai! What song should we do?”
“Roselia’s music isn’t made for two guitars, so I think one of Popipa’s songs would be better.”
“Hmm… none of those are made for two people to sing the whole thing, though.”
“You… want me to sing?”
“Of course!”
“I’m not a vocalist, though, Kasumi-san.”
“But you sing in some Roselia songs and your voice is really pretty! And I want to try singing a sing with the girl I love. Just like Otae and Rei did.”
“You really have a penchant for embarrassing ideas, don’t you. In any case, if you insist on something like that, we’d best write our own song.”
“That makes sense. Help me write a song, Sayo-senpai!”
“I don’t have much experience with it, but I can help you proofread at least.”
“Not like that. To, uh, make my songwriting process go smoothly, you need to cuddle with me under a starry sky.”
“While I am well familiar with Minato-san’s very strange songwriting process, I am also familiar with yours, and that it is no where near as eccentric. A stargazing date does sound nice, but let’s leave it to celebrate our successful performance.”
“Okay, Sayo-senpai.”
The couple arrived at Sayo’s house. Right after they entered, Kasumi gave her girlfriend a deep kiss. Sayo didn’t scold her; she knew that Kasumi obeying her request not to kiss her in public was already a lot for her.
“Let’s go to your bedroom, Sayo-senpai,” Kasumi said.
“Eager to start practice right away?” Sayo asked.
“Eager to start songwriting. Since this is a love song, I bet giving you lots of lovin’ will help me make some great lyrics! And then our guitars will be right there so we can make a melody.”
“You’re so needy, Kasumi-san. Just be ready to be interrupted for dinner.”
Sayo didn’t resist as her girlfriend pulled her by the hand. Kasumi was very good at dragging her into some sort of chaos or the other, even better than Hina was. But Kasumi somehow made sure Sayo always enjoyed it, too.
