    Summary

At the start, she told herself that it was fine, that they were just hooking up, but Emily should've known that nothing with Effy Stonem would ever be that simple.

this author has written some of the most fire fics in some of my original favorite fandoms and i would seriously recommend checking out their work. this story is beautiful and NOT about a couple i generally read about, but it really is just too good to not recommend. y'all know by now i love a story that's angsty, long, and hits right where it hurts.

Never even considered this pairing before, but this story is just so unbelievably good!
It even somehow manages to be completely in character!

Also, and this is truly remarkable, this story does the best job I’ve seen in fanfiction to get the point across that you can be an inherently good person, full of good intentions, and still be able to hurt the ones you love terribly. Emily is honestly kind of an idiot in this, hurting other people with her oblivious choices, and sometimes you don’t get why people let it slide. But then, she also does her best when she finally does understand. Is it perfect? No. But it’s understandable and you get invested in it. It’s a bit more realistic than I’m used to seeing in fanfic (or media in general).
