In Which The Shortest Hargreeves Brother Shows Up At The Druggie One's Door, Shaking

Work Text:

With nowhere else to go now that the universe was reset, Klaus found himself once again staying in Hotel Obsidian. He was living his best life- Parties with whatever other weirdos he could find on the weekends, bothering Chet- Normal Klaus Hargreeves stuff.

It wasn't until a few days into his stay that he got a knock on his room door. He nonchalantly walked over, expecting it to be a hotel worker there for routine cleaning, but instead, he was greeted with a shaking and disheveled Viktor Hargreeves.

"Hey, buddy" Klaus said calmly to the trembling man before him. "Everything alright?"

"Klaus, I-"

"Come in, Viktor" the taller brother said gently as he opened the door to let the shorter one in. Viktor just nodded as he walked into the room and carefully sat down on the bed. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I didn't know where else to go to" Viktor told him, voice on edge. "Everyone else is either in retirement, mad at me or preoccupied with their love lives" he explained. "I'm sorry to show up, I just..." A deep breath. "I think I'm having an anxiety attack"

"Okay" Klaus replied with a small smile as he sat next to his brother on the bed. "How can I help?"

"I don't know" Viktor replied, his breathing coming out in short, shuddering gasps as he frantically looked around the room for something grounding. Klaus frowned as he offered a hand, which Viktor gratefully took. "There's just so much to adjust to, and I don't-"

"You don't need to justify your feelings, dear short brother of mine" Klaus cut him off with the usual carefree air he always carried about with him. Viktor smiled at the sentiment as he focused on his brother's voice. "And you may stay here for a bit if you need"

"I might take you up on that offer" Viktor replied with a chuckle as he began to take deep breaths to calm himself down. It was moments like these that made him grateful that he no longer had his powers- He could have these episodes without the unfortunate side effect of becoming a human bomb and putting everyone around him in danger. "If you don't mind"

"Not at all" Klaus told him with a dismissive hand wave. "In fact, after you've calmed down, do you want to sneak into Hotel Oblivion for some of that shitty rotating sushi?" he offered. "After all, that shithole is only dangerous if we hit that pesky bell"

"Yeah" Viktor agreed, rubbing his thumb over the ex-cult leader's knuckles to soothe himself. "I'd like that"
