“Yuuuuuta-kun,” Rinne slurs, and Yuuta rolls his eyes because even with the drawn-out syllable he can tell Rinne isn’t saying his name right.

“Shut up,” he says, wiggling around under Rinne’s weight. He jerks his shoulders so that Rinne shifts around them into a… not more comfortable position, but at least it’s more manageable. “I don’t want to talk to you when you’re drunk.”

“Awww, don’t say that.” Rinne nuzzles his head into Yuuta’s neck, and from this proximity he can smell the booze on Rinne’s breath. Disgusting.

Yuuta huffs. “I thought honesty was a virtue.”

“When’d you start caring about virtue?”

Yuuta grits his teeth. Shut up shut up shut up, he wants to scream—whose fault does he think that is? But he holds his tongue and instead jostles Rinne as roughly as he can while they make their way through Starmony Hall. It’s a small victory when Rinne grunts and lurches, his legs jelly-like under him as they wobble toward his dorm.

“Yuuuuta.”

Ugh, not again.

“Yuta,” Rinne tries once more, turning his head into Yuuta’s neck so he can—so he can pepper sloppy, wet kisses across it?!

Yuuta shoves Rinne away—and there he goes, staggering back into the wall to their side. “What the hell are you doing, Rinne-senpai?”

His glower doesn’t seem to faze Rinne even a little bit, and Rinne curls his fingers against the wall as if it’s the only thing keeping him upright. “What, you gonna pretend you don’t like it?”

Yuuta’s hand flies to his neck, his skin hot and moist where Rinne had just been. “Wh–what’s that supposed to mean?”

“Aw, he’s shy.” A little giggle turns into a little burp, and then that turns into a little snort as he descends into a fit of laughter once again. “It’s okay Yuta, your secret’s safe with me.”

“I don’t have any secrets,” Yuuta insists, but even then he turns his head so his hair can half-cover his face. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Rinne smirks, lopsided and barely put-together. His cheeks are flushed and rosy, but there’s a sharp twinkle in his eyes, as if he were fully sober. “I was right—You don’t give a shit about virtue.”

“I care more than you do, clearly.” It takes all he has to not stomp his foot. No, acting like a child won’t get him anywhere with this guy. He knows that already. So instead he stands there, carefully still, as Rinne scrutinizes him with sparkling eyes and that damn condescending look.

Then Rinne lets out a breath and throws his head back against the wall with a loud thump. “Fine then. You wanna play this game, I’m down. I love me a good gamble.”

Yuuta dares to brush his hair out of his face, and as they stand eye to eye and toe to toe in the hall, he can’t help but feel this is a losing battle. Still, he’s not much of a quitter. “What’s the wager?”

Rinne’s smirk grows into a full-on manic grin, his teeth bright and menacing under the fluorescent lights—like a wolf ready to feast on his prey. “You got your secrets, I got mine. You’ll find out when the time comes.”

Yuuta sucks in a sharp breath. “Fine, whatever. I’ll happily take whatever you’ve got on the table when I win.”

Rinne snorts again and sticks out his hand. “Yeah, I’m sure you will.”

It all gives him a sick sense of déjà vu, but he takes it anyway, making sure to keep steady eye contact with Rinne despite the roiling in his stomach. And so Rinne gets a perfect view of the grimace Yuuta pulls when he realizes just how perfectly his hand fits in Rinne’s.

Disgusting.
