The one who loves you the most Extended

Chapter Text

A/N: So, I don’t want the fic to be a million chapters long, so I’m going to go one year each chapter. (Which would be over 20 chapters (And I hate posting small chapters, so they’ll be a decent size)

(The first chapter isn't great, but it will get better)

Andy was sitting on her couch, with her newborn baby in her arms. She was waiting for Emily and her daughter. Alexis. The two women became friends, short after the Paris incident. And they were very close.

She heard a knock on the door, and she opened the door to Emily and Alexis.

“Hello, Auntie Andy,” The girl beamed.

“Well, hello.” She said, and looked at Emily, who looked tired, and sick. “Are you alright, Em?”

“Yeah, I just haven’t been getting a lot of sleep.”

“Is it the baby?” Emily nodded, she was pregnant with another child, and she was completely alone. Her Husband left her, when they found out she was pregnant again. He wasn’t happy with one child, let alone two. So he left her.

But Emily didn’t mind too much. He was a horrible husband, and father. He was neglectful, and abusive.

“Well, do you want to sit down?” Andy asked

Andy, Emily, and Alexis sat down in the living room. Emily sat in the armchair next to the couch. And Alexis sat next to Andy.

Alexis looked at the sleeping baby in Andy’s arms, she was making sleepy baby noises. Alexis looked at her mother, and back at the baby.

“Would you like to hold her?” Andy asked. Alexis smiled, and Andy had her cradle her arms, and put her baby in the little girl’s arms.

“What did you guys name her?” Emily asked. Andy and Miranda refused to tell anyone, until they got out of the hospital. Alexis looked up at her, and her beautiful brown and blue eyes had a twinkle in them.

“We named her Ember.” Andy replied, Alexis smiled again.

Alexis was playing with Patricia, and the dog went to grab her rope. Miranda stepped into the house, and smiled. Patricia ran up to her, and so did Alexis. “Hello, you two” Miranda said, and they continued whatever they were doing. Miranda went over Andy, and massaged her shoulders. “Are you alright, Emily?” She asked

“Yeah, I’m tired.”

“Do you want us to watch her?” Andy offered

“No, you have enough on your plate.”

“It’s not much of a deal, you are tired, and you don’t look well. You should rest.”

“Only if you’re sure you can handle her.”

“It's fine,"

“Okay, fine, Thank you,”

“Of course, Em”

Emily had Alexis stay with them, but only after it took constant nagging. Alexis stayed with Andy, and Ember slept peacefully.

“Hey Andy,” The child started.

“Why did daddy leave?” Andy suddenly felt stuck.

“I don’t know,”

“He made mummy cry,”

“I know, honey.” Andy knew she had to change the subject, or the child would ask Emily about it. “Do you want to watch a movie?”

“Sure,” The girl said excitedly. Andy looked on Netflix for something that would be appropriate for a three year old.

Two months later

Alexis gave Ember her toy, and Ember cooed. Andy walked in, and smiled.

“Lunch is ready, if you would like some Alex” Andy said, and still kept an eye on them. Alexis nodded, and Andy picked Ember up, who was sitting against the couch. Ember babbled, while Alexis ate. “Is everything alright?”

“Yeah,” Alexis replied, but Andy could tell something was wrong.

The next day

Alexis sat with Andy outside the hospital room, Andy was with her, and she was worried about her mother. She went into labor the night before, Andy dropped Alexis off, and found Emily.

Alexis’s grandmother was there, but she was with her mother. She was giving birth at the moment, and everything that happened the night before, and that morning stressed Alexis out.

The next few weeks

Alexis was curled up in a ball, and on her bed. Her brother’s constant crying was annoying her. And she was sad that Emily barely paid a second of attention to her.

She had been going over to Andy and Miranda's almost everyday. She had played with Ember. Unlike her brother, Ember was quiet.

Alexis shut her door, and groaned when it just seemed to get louder. She decided that she was done, and walked out to the back yard, and sat in the grass.

Then she saw the very expensive car that Roy drove for Miranda. She walked out through the gate, today was one of those days where she would stay at their house, while Emily tried not to go insane.

Miranda raised her eyebrow, and picked the little girl up.

“What's going on?" Miranda asked, and they sat down on the front porch.

“He won't shut up!” Alexis exclaimed.

Alexis sat next to Miranda on the way to the town house. And Miranda looked concerned. But she didn't say anything.

Alexis smiled, and played with Ember, while Miranda went over to Andy, who was working on an article. She started rubbing Andy's shoulders.

Emily walked back to the living room, but stopped when she saw Alexis’s door closed. She sighed, she knew that she had basically abandoned Alexis, and she hated herself for it, she tried not to, but sometimes it was out of her control.

She knocked on the door, “Alexis, honey, are you alright.”

“I’m fine” She heard her daughter say.

“Can I come in?”

“Yeah,” Emily opened the door, she saw her daughter laying on her bed, and facing the opposite direction.

She sat down on her daughter’s bed, “Honey, please look at me,” Emily started, and Alexis turned around. She was visibly upset. “I’m so so sorry,” She said, and cuddled Alexis. “I love you so much.”

“I love you too, Mummy.” Emily and Alexis fell asleep.

Emily woke up, and kissed her daughter’s head, and stayed with her, until she could
