It was during one of their miscellaneous bunk talks—ones where Goh inevitably ends up hanging off the edge of his bed (and Ash’s words) in a manner reminiscent of a wild Mankey or ones (his favorites, might he add) where Ash occasionally journeys to the top bunk and the two converse well into the murky hours of twilight—when Goh finally mustered up the courage to probe deeper into the topic of Ash’s previous travel companions.
