witchful thinking

Work Text:

Yoongi, in hindsight, should have known better.

He should have known better than to leave the potion out and he should have known better than to put it in a plastic cup. There was no other option, of course. Somehow, he ran out of his vials, which normally wouldn't be an issue if not for the fact that the certain love potion he was working on needed to be removed from its original container immediately so Yoongi could avoid blowing his damn shop up.

In hindsight though, Namjoon should have known better too.

Yoongi doesn't blame Namjoon though, not really. Namjoon is a genius but a fool and nothing proved that more than Namjoon pettily drinking "Yoongi's drink" in front of him only to drink a mysterious potion instead despite how much Yoongi had just stressed to him to Not Drink It.

And while Yoongi used to think nothing was particularly worse than pretending everything was okay when Namjoon or Taehyung came into his shop, he had to redact that statement.

Because in reality, nothing was worse than Namjoon being in his shop and staring at him like a lovesick puppy because of some stupid love potion. Especially since Yoongi couldn't help but wish that Namjoon would stare at him like that without the potion.

Two and a half years ago, Min Yoongi "met" Kim Taehyung on the opening day of his potions shop, Brewed and Bottled. Taehyung wasn't the only one who came, but he's the only one Yoongi remembers.

Taehyung had come alone, a young witch adorning the classic witch's black hat and multicolored robes, and he had said nothing as he perused the aisles with a determined look. Yoongi hadn't gotten the chance to ask him if he needed anything, to ask if there was something particular he was looking for because all of the other customers were taking up his time.

Taehyung stayed for a long while but with a sudden smile directed Yoongi's way, he left and didn't return.

Until two weeks later.

The shop had started to slow down by then, but Yoongi was busily working away, scheduling the few workers he does have for the week, when Taehyung walked in again.

Yoongi had looked up and when he saw it was the witch, he couldn't help but smile. Taehyung had gone without the witch's hat today and unlike last time, his robes were a deep red. Also unlike last time, his hair was bright blue.

"Hi," Yoongi says a bit breathlessly. He pursed his lips. "Are you looking for something particular?"

Taehyung smiles and nods. "Yes. I wanted to see if you allow custom orders?"

"We do, yes. What will you be needing?"

"Do you… do you make it personally?"

Yoongi blinks at the odd question but he nods anyway. "Yes, I do. This is my shop and everything is made by me. I handpick some of the rarer ingredients but most of my ingredients are ordered. I do make all of the potions though."

Taehyung grins. "That's really cool. I'm glad. I've been looking for a local potions master. It's always a hassle dealing with things online or trying to find it in the bigger retail stores. The last potions master I tried buying from apparently… wasn't cruelty-free."

Yoongi grimaces. "I understand. I can assure you that all of my potions are plant-based."

"Really?" Taehyung asks, brightening. "How is that possible? I know some very basic potions might require otherwise."

Yoongi shakes his head. "I don't follow the normal procedures for most potions. All ingredients except a few have possible substitutes. It's easier for me to deal with plants anyway."

Taehyung had stared at him for a long time after that and Yoongi remembers how wide his boxy smile was. Yoongi had felt so shy.

"I'm Kim Taehyung," Taehyung had finally said though, walking up so he was right in front of Yoongi and bowing politely. When he straightened back up, Yoongi couldn't help but return his smile. "I run the healing center down the street."

"You're the owner of Healing Good?"

Taehyung smiles wider. "Yeah, I run it with my husband actually."

Something had churned low and deep in Yoongi's stomach when he had heard that. He remembers thinking, Ah, husband, of course. Of course he has a husband. Why wouldn't he? And he remembers immediately scolding himself for it.

"Oh, that's great. What's his name so I know to give him a discount?"

Taehyung laughs brightly at the horrible joke. "His name is Kim Namjoon. I'm sure you'll love him."

And so that's how it all began.

Min Yoongi first meets Kim Namjoon just two months after meeting Kim Taehyung. Taehyung, who had already become a regular customer of his, couldn't make it for the weekly pick-up so his husband came instead.

When he first walked in, Yoongi remembers thinking that Namjoon was handsome. He had his own witch's hat on and Yoongi figures he should have realized he was Taehyung's husband since it was the same one that Taehyung was wearing when Yoongi first saw him.

"Hello!" Yoongi had said much more cheerily than he felt. "Is there anything I can do to help you today?"

Namjoon had given him a wide-eyed look but he walked over to him nonetheless and smiled. "I'm here to pick up Kim Taehyung's supplies?"

Yoongi blushed without meaning to. "Oh! Could he… not make it today?"

Namjoon was giving him a curious look. "No, not today."

Something about his tone made Yoongi feel a bit awkward but he ignored it as he walked over to the side and pulled out the potions for Taehyung, most of them simple healing and calming potions. Namjoon watched him silently the entire time and Yoongi had tried his best to ignore him until he was facing him directly again, handing the box of potions to him.

"Here you go," Yoongi says.

Namjoon had nodded. "Do I… how much is it?"

Yoongi frowned. "Oh, it's already paid for. Taehyung pays for the entire month at once."

That makes Namjoon smile. "Of course he does. Thank you, Yoongi."

"You know my name?"

"Oh, yes, sorry. Tae told me. I'm Namjoon. I'm Taehyung's husband. And I also run Healing Good."

Oh, Yoongi remembers thinking. Oh, this makes sense, yeah.

"It's nice to meet you then, Namjoon." He swallows, suddenly feeling awkward. "I hope you have a good day."

"You too, Yoongi."

Yoongi smiled thinly back.

Over the course of the next few months, Yoongi fell particularly hard for Kim Taehyung. Taehyung was so bright, so good, and so unique. He always had something to say that made Yoongi smile, whether it be a compliment or a random fact. After the first four months, Taehyung started to wander in on the lunch breaks he couldn't spend with Namjoon or he'd stay a bit longer than necessary when picking up potions.

Yoongi wanted to know everything there was to know about Kim Taehyung.

And he felt so so horrible for it.

Over those same months, Yoongi saw Namjoon only a few more times. Not as many times as Taehyung of course, but enough times that Yoongi would jump when he'd hear Namjoon's low voice asking something of him.

Yoongi felt like Namjoon just knew. He felt that, somehow, Namjoon could see deep within him and see all those emotions Yoongi had for Taehyung brewing like one of the potions Yoongi makes. Yoongi didn't know how to go about it, too terrified and defensive around Namjoon to even make a good impression on him, and after a while, Namjoon stopped coming around completely, Taehyung coming in more often because of it. It was easy for Namjoon to stop coming completely as Taehyung did most of the potions runs anyway since at Healing Good, Namjoon ran most of the classes while Taehyung worked mainly behind-the-scenes.

Yoongi hadn't minded. In fact, he had been a bit grateful to stop having to feel so on edge around Namjoon, but then Taehyung mentions it.

"Do you not like my husband?"

Yoongi looks up from checking the itinerary of potions for Taehyung and stills when he sees the expression on Taehyung's face. He's smiling, but it's tight. Forced.

"Your husband?" is all Yoongi can dumbly say back. That makes Taehyung's smile fall. Now he just looks sad. Yoongi immediately feels bad. "I—"

"You don't like him, do you?" Taehyung says sulkily. His shoulders have come down and he's not even looking at Yoongi anymore, his gaze fixed on Yoongi's wooden floor. "Why don't you like him, Yoongi?"

"I thought…." Yoongi starts, swallowing thickly, "I thought he didn't like me. I don't know. We haven't really talked much. And he stopped coming around a while ago so I thought he didn't want to interact with me anymore."

Taehyung looks back up at him when he hears that, eyes pretty and bright as they usually are once again. Yoongi swallows again. "Oh," he says, smiling widely. "Oh, that's funny, then. He thinks the same of you. I suppose it's just a misunderstanding."

Yoongi ignores his guilt and can only nod. Taehyung keeps talking.

"Ah, well, I was asking because I'm having a birthday party soon and I wanted to know if you wanted to come? It won't be too big or anything, I promise, but to be honest… if you didn't like Namjoon for some reason, I wouldn't have invited you. We're definitely a package deal."

Yoongi nods, feeling worse by the second, but he smiles back at Taehyung.

"Okay, okay, yeah. When's your birthday?"

"It's today! But the party is this Saturday and it starts at six. It's at Healing Good. It's kind of like a New Year's party as well. "

"It's your birthday today?"

Taehyung nods happily, a knowing glint in his eyes, and Yoongi sighs through his smile.

"Well that means I have to give you these potions at a discount. Happy birthday, Taehyung. I'm honored you would even want to see me on your birthday. And I would love to come to your party."

Taehyung grins wider. "Yay," he exclaims. "And I'll definitely take the birthday discount. It can be a super late birthday present for Namjoon too. I'll let him know you don't, like, hate him by the way. Hopefully, you two can talk more at my party." He grabs the box of potions and turns to leave, but before he exits the door, he pauses and looks back at Yoongi, winking at him. "And dress nicely. I think you'd look really cute in something dark. Bye now."

Yoongi thinks he stares at the door for a long time after that.

Yoongi dresses in a dark purple dress shirt and dark blue slacks. He styles his hair. He's wearing his fanciest shoes. He makes sure he looks nice.

The person to open the door is Kim Namjoon.

"Oh," Namjoon says into the air, staring at Yoongi with wide eyes for a few seconds before his entire face transforms into an awkward smile, "Hey! You're here. Taehyung will be so happy. Oh, you brought a present?"

Yoongi smiles awkwardly back at him and holds it up, nodding a bit. "Yeah, I, uh—"

Namjoon laughs. "I understand, don't explain, it's okay. Here, come in. Not everyone is here yet but you aren't the first either. I'll tell Taehyung you're here. He's probably entertaining everyone."

"Okay," Yoongi replies, standing there uncomfortably as Namjoon rushes off. Yoongi sighs. Maybe he shouldn't have—

"Yoongi-hyung! You're here! And you brought me a present."

Yoongi blinks, staring at Taehyung as he bounds over to him, Namjoon trailing behind him, and Yoongi can't help but admire just how pretty he looks today in his black witch's hat that has a large pink flower perched on it. His robes are pink as well. Yoongi swallows.

"Of course I did," he replies easily. "It's your birthday party after all."

Taehyung smiles. "But you already got me a present. You gave me a discount, remember?" Nonetheless, he still reaches over and takes the present gently from Yoongi's hands, holding it close to his chest like he wants to open it then and there. Namjoon laughs and Yoongi can't help that his gaze flickers back to him momentarily.

Namjoon is… handsome when he laughs.

"Here, come in," Taehyung says, reaching out and grabbing ahold of Yoongi's hand to pull him further into the building. Yoongi tries his best to control his blushing by focusing, instead, on the building around him.

This is the place that Taehyung and Namjoon own. Together. Because they're married.

Yoongi swallows again.

"Everyone isn't here yet," Taehyung starts to explain, "But I'll introduce you to who is. This is Jimin, say 'Hi,' Jimin."

"Hi, Jimin."

"This is Hoseok. He's dating Jimin."

"I am."

"This is Jeongguk. He's our baby."

"I am not."

"You are," Namjoon laughs and Jeongguk blushes and rolls his eyes, pointedly looking away. It makes Yoongi smile.

"Nice to meet you all. I'm Min Yoongi."

Jimin's eyes glint. "Oh, we know."

Yoongi blinks. "Has Taehyung told you about me?"

At that, Taehyung coughs loudly, very obviously hiding a laugh, which only makes him frown in response. Jimin's smile has grown wider and much more devilish.

"Nope. I've heard about you from Namjoon."

Namjoon clears his throat. "Jimin."

"Same here," Hoseok adds, nodding solemnly.

"I've heard about you from both of them," Jeongguk finally adds, shrugging when he does. None of the comments fill Yoongi with any sense of calm.

Namjoon has… talked about him?

Yoongi glances at him but Namjoon isn't looking at him, instead shyly smiling at Taehyung who's smiling right back at him, the two of them lost in their own world.

Fuck, Yoongi thinks as his heart skips a beat, They really love each other. I don't know why I'm kidding myself.

Taehyung breaks eye contact first and looks at Yoongi. "Namjoon thinks you're mysterious," Taehyung finally says, expression closing off in a way that makes Yoongi's nerves dance. "I think the same. It makes us want to get to know you better."

Yoongi inhales. "Oh."

"See?" Taehyung grins, hooking his hand into Namjoon's. "Yoongi is great. Now… let's celebrate my birthday, please."

What Yoongi feels the rest of that night, Yoongi can't quite place.

In the two years that followed, Yoongi only grew closer to the married couple. He became fast friends with their friends and even became friends with another local witch that frequented his shop.

"Yoongi~ is my order here yet?"

Yoongi looks up from the counter and rolls his eyes fondly. "Seokjin-hyung, I told you, it's not getting here until next week."

Seokjin nods. "I see."

"That’s what you said yesterday too."

"Well, maybe I just want to visit you. You can seem so lonely, Yoongi. So here I am."

Yoongi laughs and holds up the little vial of the healing potion he just made. "I'm not lonely, I'm just busy. But thank you and yes we can eat lunch together."

Seokjin beams at him. "Oh, great, I was—"

The door opens and Yoongi's shocked to see Namjoon walking in.

His relationship with Namjoon is… complicated.

It's complicated because 1. Yoongi is pretty sure Namjoon knows that Yoongi is attracted to Taehyung.

When Taehyung says something that makes Yoongi blush a particular shade of red, he always casts his gaze away, and somehow, somehow, he always meets Namjoon's.

Yes, Yoongi is certain that Namjoon suspects his feelings, but Namjoon also doesn't do much about it. He supposes there would be no reason to. It's not like Yoongi is going to say anything or do anything. Yoongi may have intense feelings, but he isn't an asshole.

"Namjoon," Yoongi greets politely, nodding just briefly at him, Namjoon staring at him with hooded eyes. "Are you here for the monthly shipment? Taehyung picked it up a couple of days ago."

Namjoon blinks and shakes his head. "No, I'm here to request something personally."

Namjoon nods, as if he's inspiring determination within himself and walks forward, ending up in front of the counter, right beside a watchful Seokjin.

"Yes, I need a good sleeping potion. I've been having some nightmares recently and just… would like them to stop."

Yoongi's stomach drops. "You've been having nightmares? For how long? Why didn't you come to me sooner?"

Namjoon looks surprised by his concern but he swallows and answers anyway. "Yeah, for a few months now, I guess. And I don't know… I didn't think it was so serious, but I suppose it is. Taehyung said he'd divorce me if I didn't come."

"Oh," Yoongi says. He swallows. "Yes, I can make you a sleeping potion. I'll need to know more details though so would you be able to fill out this form?" He ducks and pulls out the form for customized potions and hands it to Namjoon when he straightens. Briefly, he makes eye contact with Seokjin who's raising an eyebrow at him, but he ignores him to give more instructions to Namjoon, giving him a pen and directing him to sit down to fill it out.

When Namjoon is sitting down, Seokjin leans forward on his arms and raises his eyebrows.

Seokjin hums. "You're blushing," he then quietly comments.

Yoongi frowns. "I'm not" he tries, looking around his shop aimlessly when he realizes how bad the lie was. "Guess I'm feeling a bit hot in here. Maybe I need to open a window."

"Or maybe you're hot and bothered."

"He's very cute. Butttttttttt I thought you hated Taehyung's husband?"

Yoongi fearfully glances at Namjoon. Namjoon isn't paying any attention to them though, frowning cutely down at the paper.

Yoongi sighs. "It's not that," he mumbles. "I don't hate him."

"Yes, I can see that."

Yoongi sighs again. Because, well, Seokjin is right, is the thing.

His relationship is complicated with Namjoon not only because Yoongi has a crush on Taehyung, aka his husband of what sometimes seems like 300 years, but also because 2. Yoongi has a tiny, tiny, massive crush on Namjoon too.

Yoongi clears his throat. "Whatever, hyung. It's not like—"

"I finished the paperwork."

Seokjin, as smooth as a potion of luck, slips away back into his original position. Yoongi holds back a glare and instead directs a pretty smile at Namjoon.

"That's great." He takes the piece of paper from Namjoon. "Let me see what I can do."

Scanning over Namjoon's messy yet neat scrawl, Yoongi's frown only grows more prominent. These nightmares have been going on even longer Namjoon said. But as he reads, Yoongi also knows what's causing them.

"So," he says when he finishes reading, meeting Namjoon's gaze again, "You're stressed?"

And just like that, Namjoon deflates.

"Yeah. How'd you know?"

"Hate to break it to you, but all your symptoms are signs of stress. It makes sense, Namjoon. You do run an entire healing center basically by yourself."

"I'm not by myself though."

"Namjoon. I know Taehyung helps you, but I also know Taehyung is more of the behind-the-scenes man. You teach classes every single day. You don't have a single day of the week where you aren't working." Yoongi sighs, gnawing at his lip as he points at a particular section Namjoon filled out. "You said here most of your nightmares are about losing Taehyung, your friends, your business. You're afraid of losing what you have now so you work harder and harder, but that only stresses you out, and so you start losing sleep because of your nightmares, and in return, you have to work even harder to compensate. It's just a painful cycle. I understand. And luckily," he smiles, "I can help."

"You can?" The look of relief warms Yoongi to his bones.

"Of course I can," he replies. "I can have the potions made by tomorrow."

"That seems really soon, you don't have to—"

"Tomorrow. I promise. See you then, Namjoon."

Namjoon sighs but thankfully, gives into Yoongi's persistence. With a final smile and a soft, "Thank you" he leaves the shop.

Seokjin is on Yoongi immediately.

"So you do have a crush on him. You're crushing on a married couple. Really, Yoongi? When I'm right here?"

"Shut up."

"Poor guy though. He seemed pretty stressed just being here. What potion are you going to make him?"

Yoongi shuts his eyes. He opens them again. "It's a pretty simple one. I've only made it a few times before though. Not many people come in for such a specific sleeping potion, but I'm glad Namjoon is asking for a customized one. I can even flavor it so it tastes really sweet."

Seokjin grins. "He likes sweet things huh?"

"Hyung, please stop."

"You know, Yoongi, I think you can be quite sweet."

"I'm not going to have lunch with you today if you don't stop."

"That's a lie and you know it."

Despite himself, Yoongi laughs and rolls his eyes.

Yoongi spends most of the night making a few batches of the sleeping potion for Namjoon. Tomorrow, he has to make a love potion for another customer and he knows that'll take all day and he didn't want to break his promise to Namjoon.

When he arrives at his shop early the next morning, he starts to brew the love potion, humming along to a song that was stuck in his head as he wondered what time Namjoon would be coming in.

Namjoon came into the shop a little after four in the afternoon and just after Yoongi had finally finished brewing the love potion. Unfortunately, he had to put the potion in a plastic cup because apparently, he ran out of vials last night and didn’t realize. He should have known better to do it, but it was just a one-time thing, never to happen again. That's how it was supposed to go.

"Hi, Yoongi," Namjoon greets with a smile. He looks tired. Yoongi feels guilty about not realizing earlier.

Silently, he admonishes himself for thinking that. It's not like it's his business. He's just a random friend. Yoongi sighs.

"Hey, Namjoon. I made you a few batches. Should last you two weeks if you use it every day. I'll make you a larger batch later on too." Yoongi pauses and then adds, "Also, I wasn't sure if you're interested, but you could try taking a calming potion to help your stress. Treat the cause rather than just the effects, right?"

Namjoon stares at him for a minute but nods. "That sounds fine. Thank you, Yoongi." He smiles softly at Yoongi. "How much do I owe you?"

Yoongi shakes his head. "It's free, don’t worry about it."

"Yoongi, no. Let me pay you. You look about as tired as I am. This means a lot, thank you."

Yoongi rolls his eyes. "I'm not letting you pay. This is a favor as a friend."

"Just because you're my friend does not mean you don't deserve to be paid for your services."

Yoongi knows he's right, of course he does, but a part of Yoongi apparently wishes to be close enough to Namjoon where this would be okay, where Yoongi could just make a remedy for his friend and that would be the end of it.

"Fine," Yoongi says, trying to think of a price in his head. Namjoon smiles at him again though and suddenly Yoongi speaks without considering what he's saying. "You owe me a nice dinner then."

Namjoon blinks, flushing instantly. "What?"

Yoongi stares at him. "Just kidding. You ow—"

"I owe you a nice dinner? I can do that. Can Taehyung come along too?"

Namjoon grins. "Then, it's a deal. He's been wanting to do this for a while anyway. We both have."

"I still want to pay you though."

"Namjoon, don't worry about it, really. Just… just be okay, okay?"

Namjoon sighs, glancing around at his counter. He points at the cup filled with a love potion. "I'll drink your coffee if you don't let me pay you and then I'll pay you even more to refund your coffee I just drunk."

Yoongi laughs. "That's not even coffee. You can't drink it." Yoongi doesn't say it's a love potion, too embarrassed that he had to put it in a cup. The shipment of new vials should be getting here before his customer comes to pick up the potion tonight anyway. It's not like his customer would know, but there's no way in hell is he letting Namjoon know.

Apparently, Namjoon doesn't believe him. "Okay, then your water then."

Yoongi rolls his eyes. "It's not water either. You still aren't allowed to drink it."

"Because I'd have to pay you, right?"

"No, that's not why," Yoongi says. Maybe he should just tell Namjoon. He sighs. "It's a potion."

Namjoon laughs. "Sure."

"It is!"

"Then why is it in a plastic cup? Yoongi, I know you're too much of a professional to do that."

That embarrasses Yoongi even more. Now, he definitely can't admit to it. He stays quiet.

"Just don't drink it."

Namjoon's eyes glint and Yoongi sees it happen before it does, but he's too slow to stop it. Pettily, Namjoon picks up the cup and swigs the entire potion down just a second before Yoongi's hand comes up to swat it away.

He's too late though.

With horror, Yoongi watches as Namjoon stares at him without focus before it settles into a dreamy look.

Yoongi should have known better.

"Yoongi," Namjoon sighs, smiling softly at him. "It's you."

"Fuck," is all Yoongi says.

"You look so hot today, Yoongi. You look hot every day. You're so cute."

"This is definitely not good."

"You're so cool, Yoongi. So talented and nice. And funny. I think we should get married."

Yoongi has to shut his eyes. Fuck, he thinks. He opens his eyes. I need to tell Taehyung.

"Here," Yoongi says, putting Namjoon's potions into a box and handing it to him. "You hold this. We're going to go see your husband."

"My husband?"

Yoongi nods. "Yes, remember your husband? The love of your life? You are both disgustingly cute together, it's actually very sweet."

"And you," Namjoon says dreamily. "You're sweet."

Somewhere, Yoongi thinks miserably, Seokjin is laughing right now.

With more effort than Yoongi usually exerts on a day-to-day basis, he manages to drag Namjoon out the front door of his shop, turning over the "OPEN" sign to "CLOSED" as he locks it, Namjoon sighing lovingly at everything Yoongi does behind him.

Logically, Yoongi shouldn't be panicking as much as he is. By law, legal love potions only last up to thirty minutes and can only heighten emotions rather than create entirely new ones. Legal love potions are usually just party tricks, bought to prank a friend or two, but Yoongi thinks something has gone wrong with the one he gave Namjoon because it appears it has created new ones. Nothing can explain why Namjoon is acting the way he is if it isn't a faulty potion. Yoongi feels stressed. He'll have to cancel the order with his customer too. That won't be good for business.

Yoongi focuses on leading Namjoon to Healing Good, letting Namjoon reach out and grab his hand to hold if it meant Namjoon would actually walk with him rather than try to hang off of him.

Before they go inside, Yoongi checks the time, hoping that Taehyung isn't in the middle of a class. He doubts it since he's pretty certain that Taehyung only teaches two classes and neither of them are today, but he hopes nonetheless.

When they get inside, Taehyung is in the main lobby. He looks surprised to see both of them but as soon as he sees the state Namjoon is in and Yoongi's worried face, he rushes over.

"What's wrong? You look worried, Yoongi."

"Yoongi~" Namjoon giggles. "I like your name, Yoongi. It's pretty like you."

Mortification spreads through Yoongi's entire body and he's about to try and explain to Taehyung what's wrong, but then Taehyung laughs.

"Is he drunk?"

Yoongi blinks. That's Taehyung's first thought?

"No," Yoongi coughs, blushing when Namjoon rests his head on Yoongi's shoulder and sighs again. "No, he… drank a love potion on accident. That's why he's like this. I'm so sorry."

Looking at Taehyung, Namjoon smiles again. "It's you. I love you, baby."

Taehyung giggles. "Are you sure he isn't drunk?"

"Yoongi, I really love you too."

Yoongi thinks he might die if this keeps happening. Taehyung only laughs again.

"I'm pretty sure he's drunk."

"He isn't drunk. I saw him take the love potion. What else would explain him being all over me? It makes sense with you obviously, but me? It's the love potion. It… I'm worried. Usually, they only heighten emotions and last half an hour, but… this is different. It may last longer than that. I don't know."

Suddenly, Taehyung is hugging Yoongi, Namjoon huffing out a protest but managing to wrap himself around them both anyway.

"Yoongi, it's okay, really. If it is a love potion, it'll wear off soon. Thirty minutes, right?"

Yoongi shakes his head. "Or longer. Obviously, I fucked up the potion somehow. Maybe putting it in the cup did it."

"You put a love potion in a cup?"

"Take this secret with you to your grave, Kim Taehyung."

Taehyung nods solemnly and Namjoon presses his face against Yoongi's neck and inhales. Yoongi shivers.

"But why do you think you fucked up the potion?"

Yoongi stares at Taehyung like he's grown a second head. "What do you mean why?"

"The love potion just heightens emotions, right? So, it makes sense why Namjoon is acting like this."

"No, it doesn't," Yoongi replies automatically. "It absolutely does not make sense."

Suddenly, Taehyung comes to an understanding. "Oh. You really don't know. I thought Namjoon was just kidding when he said that."

"Know what?"

Taehyung shakes his head. "Not telling."

"Don't worry about it. More importantly, did Namjoon get his sleeping potions?"

Yoongi wants to ask more but he doesn't, nodding instead as he goes and sits down, Namjoon trailing after him, reaching for Yoongi's hand again and squeezing tightly. Taehyung sits on the other side of Yoongi and Yoongi grabs the box of potions from Namjoon, handing it to Taehyung.

"They're here. I added a few calming potions too. To help with his stress."

"Thank you, Yoongi-hyung," Taehyung says softly. "This means a lot. I'm sure it'll help a lot."

Yoongi blushes. "Of course, Taehyung. I want to help."

Taehyung nods, looking fondly at Namjoon again. Namjoon has wrapped his arms around Yoongi completely now, leaning against him as he stares up at him with love in his eyes.

"How did he end up drinking the potion anyway?"

"He thought it was my coffee or something and tried to pettily drink it in front of me."

"What made him do it?"

Yoongi bites his lower lip. "Well, I didn't let him pay for the potions basically. He was insistent on paying though. He said he'd drink my coffee if I didn't and when I told him it was a potion, he didn't believe me."

"Well, I mean, then he was just asking for it if he drank it anyway."

"Exactly, thank you."

"Don't think we're not going to manage to pay you though. Somehow, we'll do it. Anyway, on an unrelated note, would you like a year's worth of free classes from us?"

"No, I'm okay," Yoongi laughs. "Besides…" he flushes, "Namjoon said he'd take us out on a nice dinner to make up for it."

"He asked you out on a date?"

"I wouldn't call it a date."

Taehyung is quiet for only two seconds and then, "Well, I would. I am. It's a date, Yoongi. All three of us."

Taehyung seems nervous, pressing his hands together tightly and Yoongi feels suddenly so lost.

"Would you be okay with it being a date, hyung? The three of us? Would that… would you…?"

Is Taehyung—

"I want to date you, Yoongi," Namjoon suddenly mumbles into Yoongi's shoulder. "For a long time now."

"Haha okay, let me know what you think when you haven't just downed a love potion not meant for you."

Namjoon stays quiet though, pulling himself off of Yoongi's shoulder and laughing softly to himself. Yoongi frowns. Namjoon is… he's…

"Yes, well, I'm no longer feeling the effects of the potion if that's what you're curious about. I honestly think I'm worse when I'm drunk."

"See," Taehyung grins. "That's what I thought too."

Yoongi doesn't know how to react. He swallows. "So, you meant it, then? You meant what you said?"

Namjoon doesn't miss a beat. "I did."

"And you meant it too, Tae?"

"Yeah, hyung."

Yoongi doesn't know what to say. Namjoon, apparently, thinks he does.

"No potion can create this kind of chemistry after all." He laughs after he says it. Yoongi and Taehyung both groan.

Yoongi feels happy though. He feels happy. He laughs.

"I didn't think you both liked me back. I thought I was setting myself up for misery falling for a married couple, but… but you want me back."

Taehyung rests his head on Yoongi's shoulder and hums. "It seems your witchful thinking ended up working out in your favor." At the joke, Yoongi immediately shrugs him off and Taehyung pouts handsomely at him because of it.

"That was even worse than mine, baby" Namjoon laughs.

"That's a bold statement for you to say considering yours," Yoongi mutters.

"Thank you for defending me," Taehyung says seriously. "So, where are we going for our date?" He grabs Yoongi's other hand. Yoongi ducks his head, flushed.

"I don't know," he says, swallowing thickly and letting himself give in, "But don't worry about paying me back. Because… everything I brew, I brew for you."

Namjoon and Taehyung both burst into laughter at Yoongi's joke.

Yoongi smiles, pleased with their reaction.

He's happy.

In hindsight, Yoongi is glad everything happened the way it did.

In the years that followed, after months of easily learning how to navigate a relationship together, Taehyung, Namjoon, and Yoongi were In Love. Not the kind of love that comes from a bottle, but real, true love that had the three of them feeling happier than ever.

Namjoon's nightmares went away in the first year of their newfound relationship, mainly because his stress lessened immensely when Taehyung and Yoongi finally managed to convince him to hire some more workers to help out.

After two and a half years of being together, they finally moved in together.

After three and a half years, Yoongi merged his shop with Healing Good and also started teaching a class on how to safely brew at-home healing and calming potions.

Yoongi finally introduced Seokjin to the rest of the group and now, much to Seokjin's horror, Yoongi gets to finally tease Seokjin on his love life and relationship with Jeongguk.

It was good. It was nice. Yoongi was happy.

Namjoon and Taehyung love me, he'd sometimes think, sometimes not able to comprehend how any of this happened, sometimes not able to understand how everything worked out in the way that it did after years of pining. They love each other. And they love me.

And he'd watch them with a smile on his face. Namjoon, with his calming voice and gentle soul that constantly helped bring comfort to those that sought it, not excluding Yoongi himself. Taehyung, with his beautiful boxy smile and kind heart greeting anyone that came to heal some part of themselves. Namjoon and Taehyung together, with their soothing and powerful presence that made Yoongi sometimes feel so overwhelmed with love he didn't know what to do with himself.

After four years, the three of them get married in the spring, and Yoongi is so so so glad he lost that customer all those years ago because one of his husbands accidentally downed a love potion.

Namjoon and Taehyung love me, he thinks while beaming at their wedding.

They love each other, he thinks as they squeeze his hands.

And I love them too, he thinks as they start this new chapter in their life.
