Jimin has come to realize that he has more of a chance of getting struck by lightning in a car, than there is of him ever attending a fan sign. When he was nineteen, he attempted the life-consuming feat and spent god knows how much money on the BTS album out at the time. His mother scolded him, but Jimin persisted and unfortunately, he did not win.
Once was enough because fan signs required a shit load of money and Jimin prioritized paying for his first semester of college instead of spending money on albums. He sulked for a few weeks after and brooded over cute photos of Jungkook in various styles of headbands before moving on.
Five years later, Jimin will once again try to get into a fan sign.
Taehyung come with me to buy the new BTS album so I can get into a fan sign
Ask ur boyfriend
Y would I do tht???
Oh idk…mayb BC HE’S IN THE FREAKING GROUP
And bc he’s “in the freaking group” I can’t ask him…it’ll b awkward
Idk bc I want to earn the entrance ticket
Wht I’m hearing is tht u want to waste money
I mean…if I was dating a bts member I would just ask
He loves u and he loves to spoil u
Spoiled. Jimin will admit that Jeongguk has spoiled him ever since they officially started dating two months ago. Jeongguk has:
- Sent Jimin baskets of flowers and cokes and jellies
- Texted Jimin “you’re beautiful” in the morning
- Made their time in bed A++ phenomenal
- Taken care of Jimin when he’s stressed because of college
- ALL WHILE BEING BUSY
Jimin + Jeongguk + Jeongguk’s kind heart = spoiled.
Which is y I cant’t ask
Thts too much and out of his control
I don’t wanna push my “fanboy-agenda” onto him
Looks like I’ll just have to ask him….
How will u do tht?
How do u think???
He gave me his number
Bitch ur lying
BITCH I think the fuck not
Like…a few weeks after he came over tht day
He said he hopes we can be good friends and tht I’m rly handsome
Which was obviously code for: wow ur super hot n I wonder if u and jimin were ever anything in the past
; ) txting loverboy now~
I’ll call him….
Knew u would~~~~
Jimin rolls his eyes as he dials Jeongguk’s number. It’s a Tuesday evening and last time they talked, he’s pretty sure Jeongguk said something about being free in the afternoon. Jimin hopes he’s not calling at a bad time. The line clicks.
“Jimin?” Jeongguk’s voice sounds rough when he answers.
Jimin’s anxiety is quickly replaced by concern. “You okay?”
Jeongguk clears his throat. “Yeah, just a little exhausted.” After a brief pause, Jeongguk adds. “But I feel much better now that you called.”
Jimin rolls his eyes as he settles on the edge of his bed. “You always say that.”
“Because it’s always the truth.” Jeongguk hums and despite the huskiness of his voice, his tone remains soft and gentle. It’s the tone he always uses with Jimin. “To what do I owe this sudden call? I thought you were busy studying.”
“I was—am. I am busy studying.”
“Uh-huh.” Jeongguk replies, sensing there’s something Jimin is holding back, but he won’t push Jimin to confess. Eventually he’ll say what’s on his mind. “How’s the studio?”
“Oh, it’s going well. Our memberships have increased, and the public is showing interest because of the performance I put on two months ago.” Jimin explains; he placed second in the contest. Not what he was hoping for but better than he thought he deserved.
“That’s awesome…one day I’ll come to see you in action.”
“Ooor…I could put on a private show for you.” Jimin teasingly offers.
Jeongguk chuckles lowly into the phone, “Don’t tempt me, angel.”
Jimin smiles. “What about you?”
“Same old, same old; we have a fan signing in about two hours.” Jeongguk says. “And we just finished recording for Music Bank.”
“I’ll be sure to watch.”
They both smile. Despite the obvious distance, it feels like they’re sitting side by side. What’s missing is Jimin’s warmth and the woodsy scent of his cologne.
“I miss you.” Jeongguk blurts. “I want to rest my head on your shoulder and play with the pads of your fingers.”
“Baby, I miss you too.”
Due to the comeback, Jimin and Jeongguk have only met in person maybe once or twice. They kept their distance because of a paparazzi scare claiming Jeongguk was seeing someone. BigHit published an article denying such claims, but Jeongguk was advised to be more cautious.
Jeongguk snaps his fingers. “I have an idea.”
“The fan sign. What if you come to the fan sign?”
Jimin blinks. “Huh?”
“It’s the perfect cover and besides…weren’t you going to ask me about it anyways?”
Jimin nearly chokes. “Wh-wh-what do you mean?”
Jeongguk laughs. “I may have heard from a certain someone that you’ve been trying to get into one.”
Jimin glares, “Taehyung told you?”
“I didn’t say that.” Jeongguk hums. “I said someone.”
Jimin will worry about Taehyung later, right now he’ll just focus on clarifying his thoughts to Jeongguk. “I do want to go to one, but I planned on purchasing the new album…”
Jeongguk’s confused now. “Buying an album?”
“Yeah…to support you and the group.”
“Jimin you know you can ask me, right?”
Jimin shifts on his bed. “I know that, but I don’t want to.”
Jeongguk’s eyebrows furrow. “Why?”
“It just—I don’t feel comfortable asking you—it feels like I’m taking advantage of you or something and I don’t like that. At all.”
“Taking advantage?” Jeongguk tries to keep the hurt out of his voice but fails miserably. “You could never take advantage of me.”
“Listen to me, Jimin.” Jeongguk softly requests. “You aren’t taking advantage of me; you’re supporting me, and I want you to.”
“It just doesn’t seem fair.”
“It isn’t fair. It isn’t fair to others that I fell in love with you, but I fell in love with you.” Jeongguk explains. “I fell for you and I want to give you anything and everything I can give to you.”
Jimin bites his bottom lip.
Jeongguk sighs. “I’ll respect your wishes, but I want you to know that you can come to me.”
After a moment, Jimin replies. “Okay.”
Jimin runs a hand through his hair. “I’ll agree to it, but.”
Jeongguk listens eagerly.
“On one condition.”
“This is the last time you help me out on anything BTS related.”
“And…stop sending me stuff when I haven’t sent you anything yet.” Jimin pouts.
Jeongguk’s eyes light up and he laughs. “Maybe if you weren’t so precious and cute.”
“All that comes out of your mouth are praises and compliments. Don’t you get tired?”
“Never. I’ll have you know; I was born to praise you.”
Jimin laughs loudly. “You’re so dramatic.”
It’s on the tip of his tongue, what Jeongguk so badly wants to say, but he’s unsure whether now is a good time. So, he’ll wait to say those special words to Jimin. “I’ll tell management and staff about you; all you have to do is get in line.”
“Suddenly I’m nervous.”
Jeongguk tilts his head. “Why?”
“I’ve never been to a fan sign.” Jimin clutches his phone tightly. “And I’ll be seeing the other members. It’s like I’ll be meeting your parents for the first time.”
“Luckily I won’t have to introduce myself as your boyfriend yet, but I feel like I should be on my best behavior.”
“Jimin you’re thinking about it too much.”
“Do they like me? Have they seen my edits?”
Jimin gasps. “Jeongguk what if they think I’m weird or something?”
“They love you.” He assures. “And they love that I’m with you.”
Jimin licks his lips. “Really?”
“Yep, Jin doesn’t know how I got so lucky.”
Jimin smiles and Jeongguk’s words ease his heart.
Men and women young and old line up outside of the wedding hall BTS will be using for the first fan sign of their comeback. Jimin waits anxiously at the back of the line. He spent almost an hour fussing over what to wear and how to style his hair before opting to wear something casual—black slacks and a denim shirt. Jimin’s been waiting in line for twenty minutes and his heart is racing with excitement.
I’m going to see BTS.
In Jimin’s brain, Jeongguk and Jungkook are two different people.
Jungkook is silly, professional, an amazing singer, performer and young man who knows how to make his members laugh.
Jeongguk on the other hand is sarcastic, a tad timid, but confident in his own respects. He’s kind, attentive and patient.
Somehow these two Jeongguk’s blend together to create Jimin’s Jeongguk—a treasure solely for Jimin.
“Aren’t you…Jeonsthetic?” a voice asks behind Jimin.
He turns around and is met with a young woman who has pretty eyes and red hair. She gasps, “You are!”
Jimin immediately blushes. “Hi.”
“Oh my god, hi! I’ve been following you since 2015.”
Jimin smiles. “Thank you.”
“I love your editing style. You always catch Jeongguk’s many quirks.” She gushes. “And oh my god you’re so pretty in person.”
Jimin continues smiling unsure of what to say.
“I mean you’re handsome and pretty.” Her round eyes flick about his face. “Woah. Jeongguk would probably like you a lot if he met you.”
Now Jimin’s intrigued. “Really?”
Jimin struggles to suppress a smirk.
“A few of your fans have started to ship you with him.”
“Well I guess it’s my lucky day since I’ll be meeting him in a few moments.”
At the mention of this, she swats Jimin with a loud laugh. “He’s not gay though.”
Jimin’s smile falls away.
“There’s no way he could be gay.”
“What if he is?” Jimin challenges.
She shrugs. “I mean—I don’t think he’s gay, but hey, I’ll still love him.” She looks around before stepping forward to whisper something to Jimin. “Now, I’m a rarity amongst fans, so if he just so happens to be gay, fans like you and me.” She gestures between them. “We’ll have to stick close.”
Jimin’s slightly thrown off by her shift in attitude but decides to humor her by shaking her hand. Ten minutes pass before the doors are opened. The line moves swiftly since there’s only a hundred fans (plus Jimin) waiting. Not to be dramatic, but Jimin swears he’s just walked into heaven. The wedding hall is bright and white save for the foldable black chairs.
Fans are giggling and talking amongst themselves, while fan site masters set up their cameras and other fans double check the packaging of their gifts. Jimin stands amidst them clueless and in awe. And gift less.
“Shit.” He curses, but he doesn’t have time to dwell on the thought because a staff comes up to him and gestures for him to take a seat. He sits in the second row and clutches his hands in his lap. The stage is so close. He swallows.
The chatter immediately stops when the first member walks onto the stage. It’s Suga, then Jin appears followed closely by J-hope. RM and Jeongguk walk out together; they each take a mic to greet the fans.
“Two, three,” Namjoon leads and the others follow in a slight bow.
Jimin stares in awe. My boyfriend is up there. As if hearing his thoughts, Jeongguk’s eyes scan the crowd and locks onto Jimin.
He smiles one of the most charming smiles Jimin has ever seen and Jimin melts.
Jeongguk wants so badly to wave but fights the urge to do so. He follows the other members and sits down. The first row of fans are escorted up and the fan signing officially begins. Jeongguk signs album after album and holds hands with countless fans. Their rules have changed over the years; fans can no longer touch their hair or touch their face. Jeongguk doesn’t mind the rules and he’s glad his fans respect them, but he wonders if maybe Jimin will be allowed to break a rule or two.
When the second row is called up, Jeongguk takes a deep breath.
The first member Jimin greets is Suga. “Hello.” He says awkwardly.
A knowing grin falls onto Suga’s face as he takes the album from Jimin. “Hello to you too.”
Jimin swallows. “I’m hella nervous right now.” he admits.
Suga looks up and his almond-shaped eyes land on Jimin. “Don’t be.” He says simply.
“I really like your new hair color.” Jimin bumbles. “And I’ve danced to First Love.”
Suga stops signing to fully focus his attention on Jimin. “Are you trying to get me killed?”
Jimin blinks. “Huh?”
Suga laughs softly. “Your boyfriend doesn’t realize it yet, but he tends to get jealous easily.”
Jimin relaxes, “Is that so?”
“Oh yeah, watch.” Suga reaches for Jimin’s hand and interlaces their fingers. He cocks his head in Jeongguk’s direction and Jimin turns to look at him.
Jeongguk is watching them, a funny look on his face. His gaze focuses in on Suga and Jimin’s hands and Jeongguk pokes the inside of his mouth with his tongue before looking away.
Suga snickers. “It was nice meeting you, Jimin.” he releases his hold on Jimin’s hand and Jimin steps to the next member.
“Look who we have here!” Jin exclaims, happily taking Jimin’s album and signing a random page. “I can see why Jeongguk likes you so much.”
Jin looks up with a smile. “I’m saying you’re handsome.” He shoots Jimin a wink.
“Let’s meet up sometime for lunch or something, my treat.”
“Totaaaaally okay,” Jin drawls. “you’re like family now.”
Jimin’s stomach fills with butterflies and he flashes Jin a meek smile. He’s even more handsome in person.
“Why thank you.” Jin says.
“I said that…I said that out loud, didn’t I?”
Jin grins. “Ya sure did.” He hands Jimin his album back and Jimin’s eyes widen upon seeing what Jin signed:
To: JK’s boyfriend
Call me if that kid gives you a hard time : ) 685-1xx-xxxx
Jimin smiles to himself. He’s so caught up in reading the note, that he forgets RM is next and Jimin nearly stops breathing when he looks up.
There he is. Kim Namjoon. The one and only.
“Y-you’re amazing.” Jimin blurts.
Jeongguk’s head snaps around so fast, causing a few fans to worriedly coo about his neck and the hat on his head.
“Thank you?” RM chuckles and Jimin can physically feel himself getting bias wrecked.
“I was so happy when you dropped Mono, it was an absolute work of ar—”
“I was in the studio when he was working on it.” Jeongguk interjects.
Jimin and the fan across from Jeongguk are left puzzled at this sudden burst of information.
Jeongguk seems to notice this and quickly collects himself. “S-sorry.”
An awkward silence passes and Jimin laughs to himself upon noticing Jeongguk’s reddening ears.
RM chuckles. “Favorite track off the playlist?”
Jimin reaches for the album, but RM takes his hand instead. Jimin’s eyes widen.
“Glad you could make it today.” RM holds his hand tightly.
“A-anytime, I’m lucky to be here, RM.”
“Call me, Namjoon.”
Jimin presses his lips together, “Namjoon.”
Jeongguk’s had enough of them fawning over each other, so he reaches over and lightly taps Jimin’s wrist. “Time’s up.” He says.
Jimin’s gaze flicks to Jeongguk and he glares, but quickly slips on a smile to part ways with Namjoon.
Jeongguk is silent as he signs Jimin’s album.
Jimin sighs, dropping his voice to a whisper. “Are you jealous?”
“Maybe.” Jeongguk mutters without looking up.
Jimin covers his mouth as he laughs. “You are!”
Jeongguk finally looks up. “Are you happy to have met your bias wrecker?”
“Oh my god, you’re so childish.”
“At least I’m faithful.”
“Stop being dramatic, bab…” Jimin catches himself. “Stop being dramatic, Jungkook.”
Jeongguk reaches for Jimin’s hands and takes them both. “Only if you stop being so whipped for Rapmon-hyung.”
“You still call him Rapmon?” Jimin giggles. “Cute.” And then he gets an idea. “Try calling me hyung.”
Jeongguk tilts his head, “Jimin-ssi?”
“Hyung, call me hyung.”
“You mean Jimin-ssi.” Jeongguk reiterates.
Realizing that Jeongguk will not back down, Jimin shakes his head with a fond smile. He begins to pull his hands back, but Jeongguk holds onto him. “Read what I wrote.” He whispers.
Jimin nods. “I will.”
They stare at each other for a few seconds more before Jimin is ushered towards J-hope.
J-hope suggestively wiggles his eyebrows as he takes Jimin’s album. “Hellooo~!” he greets in a bubbly tone.
Jimin feels like he’s just walked into a bed of sunflowers. “Hi.”
“Sorry to have stolen you from your…” he looks around before whispering, “boyfriend.”
Jimin laughs—he’s been doing a lot of laughing since the fan signing started, it’s a pleasant change. “He’ll get over it.” Jimin assures.
J-hope smiles and asks Jimin about his day and what he ate for lunch, simple conversation, until J-hope (who Jimin now has the pleasure of addressing as “Hobi” or Hoseok) invites him out for dinner.
“Dinner. Once our schedules are finished, we can grab something to eat.” Hoseok smiles. “All seven of us.”
Jimin mentally counts them off in his head but comes up with six instead. “You mean…six of us?”
“No, I mean seven.” Hoseok leans across the table to whisper, “Can you invite your friend?”
Jimin gasps. “Taehyung!?”
Hoseok nods, “I wrote my number in the album.” He winks just as Jimin is ushered to leave the stage.
Jimin’s left speechless as he returns to his seat. There’re numerous thoughts running through his head about how charming the men of BTS truly are. I now understand why Jeongguk is the way he is. The fan sign continues accordingly with the members making jokes and singing snippets of songs from the new album. It last for about an hour before their whisked off to their next schedule.
By the time BTS is finished with their entire schedule, it’s around eight in the evening; the sun has begun to set, and the temperature has dropped. Jeongguk, Hoseok and Seokjin are piled into the backseat of the black van. Namjoon sits up front while Yoongi is seated beside one of their other managers. As they’re driving to an unknown destination for dinner, Jeongguk slides out his phone to text Jimin.
He calls me baby
Idk I just thought tht would be a good conversation starter
He calls me baby
Nooooo ;;; I’m so bored
He calls me baby
He calls me baby
Tae and I r going out
He calls me baby
Lol yes but I’m not driving now

He calls me baby

Everything is hot when u do it
He calls me baby
Did I say moaning? I meant screaming too
He calls me baby
Lol I’ll stop
But where r u two going?
He calls me baby
“Texting Jimin I see.” Seokjin comments as he reads over Jeongguk’s shoulder. “He’s going to dinner?”
“With his bestfriend.” Jeongguk says quickly.
Seokjin smirks. “Still dinner, still a date.”
Jeongguk glares and then he smirks. “You’re just upset because you’re single.”
Seokjin gasps as he brings a hand to his chest.
From the passenger seat, Namjoon clears his throat signaling an end to the conversation.
Can u tell jimin I have a weak heart
This is jimin
Yes I like muscular guys
No I’m not as kinky as tae claims
Ur reading our previous mssgs…
Yes, I sometimes talk in my sleep
Let me go hide
Jeongguk and Taehyung befriended each other relatively quick and Jeongguk ultimately confided in Taehyung about his sexual preferences and curiosities, and if Jimin would be open to such. Jeongguk also remembers asking about the little details of Jimin’s life and for Taehyung to take photos of Jimin when he’s sleeping. Most of his questions were domestic and sweet, whereas others...
ur into THAT, Jeongguk?
Nice to know, nice to know
bc I’m kinda into it too….
It’s safe to say Jeongguk is distracted throughout the entire dinner thanks to Jimin’s message. He’s so distracted, he begins to hallucinate Jimin walking towards their table. And what’s really funny is that the hallucination can speak and surprisingly touch people.
“Jeongguk.” the hallucination says.
“Baby.” It repeats.
The hallucination, which is not a hallucination, but Jimin in the flesh, bends over in laughter.
“How’re you here…?”
Hoseok scoots over to make room for Jimin and Taehyung, “I invited them.”
Jeongguk shoots Hoseok a puzzled look. “Invited…them?”
“Yep, at the fan sign—stop looking over your shoulder, it’s fine.” Hoseok says the latter part to Jimin.
Jimin laughs nervously as he runs a hand through his hair.
Taehyung reaches over and places a reassuring hand to Jimin’s thigh.
Jeongguk’s gaze follows the movement.
“If Hoseok says it’s okay, it’s okay.” Taehyung hums.
Hoseok nods. “Management booked the entire place to treat our hardworking staff.” He leans in as if to divulge a secret. “They’re good people; what they see here stays here.”
“Thanks…” Jimin relaxes, he turns his attention to Jeongguk. “What’d you order?”
Jeongguk’s gaze snaps up to meet Jimin’s eyes. “Pork belly and cold noodles.”
“Sounds yummy.” Jimin smiles and his eyes widen when Jeongguk suddenly leans forward to connect their lips.
Hoseok gasps and Yoongi mumbles something pertaining to “common decency.”
Jeongguk pulls back with an arrogant grin. “Been wanting to do that since this morning.” he confesses lowly.
Jimin touches his lips, scandalized by the sudden show of affection.
Jeongguk laughs. “I’ll order for you, what do you want?”
“If he says you, I swear to god.” Seokjin grumbles.
Jeongguk rolls his eyes. “He’s not like you, hyung.”
After a few minutes of friendly banter, Jeongguk orders for Jimin and Hoseok and Taehyung share a plate of beef. The atmosphere is tinged with excitement and laughter. A few beers are passed around; Namjoon randomly makes a toast to which Yoongi raises his glass.
Jimin feels like he fits in—he truly feels like family and is no longer burdened by appearing a certain way in front of them. I can be myself and they’ll like me just the same.
Jeongguk’s gaze drifts towards Jimin and he stares at him. He soaks in every second of Jimin’s presence; the bashful way he cups his hands around his face, to the way he giggles loudly after having two beers. The world seems to fade away into white noise as Jeongguk stares at him. He quietly reaches over and brushes a finger down the side of Jimin’s face. Jimin doesn’t appear to be bothered by the touch as he takes another drink.
Jeongguk continues watching him and he plays with the fine strands of hair on the nape of Jimin’s neck. Jimin says something to Yoongi about university, but Jeongguk doesn’t care for the conversation.
This continues for a few minutes until Jimin turns to look at him. “What?” he asks.
Jeongguk notes with a smile how Jimin’s voice is huskier than usual. Probably from drinking. “Nothing.”
Jimin’s eyebrows furrow; his eyes flick to Jeongguk’s plate then back to Jeongguk. “Your food’s gonna get cold.”
“Mm,” Jeongguk hums, “feed me.”
Jimin scoffs. “Do that yourself.” He shoves Jeongguk off.
Jeongguk backs off with a laugh, thinking that he could get used to this—to Jimin being here with the people Jeongguk considers family.
A little later…
Jimin stumbles out of the restaurant and Jeongguk follows him with a soft smile. He swoops in just as Jimin is about to dive towards the concrete. “Woah, watch your step angel.”
Jimin giggles and bops Jeongguk across the nose. “I’m fine.” He drawls. “Jus a lil dithy.”
Jeongguk slides an arm around his waist and pulls Jimin in close. “How many drinks did you have?”
“A…couple.” Jimin mumbles. Upon noticing the look of disbelief on Jeongguk’s face, Jimin’s lips roll into a pout and he tilts his head. “I’m fiiiiiine.”
“Give him about an hour,” Taehyung says as he walks up from behind them. “he’ll sober up soon.”
Jeongguk flashes a worrisome smile as he helps Jimin towards Taehyung’s car. “I wish I could stay with you.” He whispers.
Jimin nods in agreement, “I wish you could stay too.” Suddenly he grabs the front of Jeongguk’s shirt and yanks him close. Jimin loses his footing causing them to stumble back first against Taehyung’s car.
Attempting to stop himself from falling against Jimin, Jeongguk slams his hands to the car windows, pinning Jimin between his arms. They stare at each other, their breaths heavy between them. Finally, Jimin breaks the silence.
“Thank you.” Jimin says softly. “For…everything.”
“A-anytime.” Jeongguk’s eyes flick to Jimin’s lips and he licks his own.
“I had a lot of fun, Jeongguk.”
Jeongguk’s gaze returns to Jimin’s eyes. “I did too.”
Jimin smiles as he brings his hands up to cup Jeongguk’s face. Still smiling, Jimin uses his thumb to stroke across the mole on Jeongguk’s bottom lip.
“Kiss me.” Jimin whispers.
Jeongguk does just that and the “I love you” that was on the tip of his tongue, silently spills from his lips as he kisses his angel.
