Work Text:

Yoongi is sitting on a stool, perfectly positioned in front of the lens to leave room for Taehyung right next to him.  A little bit of shuffling is heard out of view of the camera as Yoongi watches whatever is making said noise.

Tae: OW!

Yoongi, who looked momentarily worried, is now laughing breathlessly as footsteps approach, head facing the floor.

Tae: Stop laughing at me, meanie!

Yoongi: I wouldn’t laugh if it wasn’t funny!

Taehyung has now shown up in frame and sat in his seat next to Yoongi.  He immediately shoves the elder, causing him to kilter off balance, but not nearly enough for him to fall over.

Yoongi: Okay, okay! I’ll stop laughing.

Yoongi let out a couple more chuckles before it ceased, leaving him with a small smile on his face. He took a moment and turned to look at Taehyung.

Yoongi: Is it on?

Taehyung: Yup, turned it on a minute ago.

Yoongi: Okay, we should start now, shouldn’t we?

Taehyung: Yeah, we’ll get started.  But don’t forget that if there’s anything you say that you don’t want to be in the video, just say so.  I won’t be offended and Jungkook can work his magic, isn’t that right Jungkook?

Taehyung looked into the camera lens.

Jungkook chuckled and nodded at the video.

Yoongi: I know how this works, Tae.  We have been doing these for over a year now.

Taehyung: Yeah, but today we’re gonna be uncovering secrets and addressing things that you may or may not want to address.  Jungkook is going to assume everything is okay, unless you say otherwise. If you decide after, we can write it down.

Jungkook looked at the paper left for him.  All that was written on it was, “Yoongi said everything’s fair game.  Make us look good. ;)”. He chuckled.

They both looked toward the camera for a moment before Taehyung turned to Yoongi once more.

Taehyung: Do you want to do the intro?

Yoongi looked at Taehyung with a teasing gaze

Yoongi: Oh, you mean your non-existent one?

Taehyung looked at the elder with shock.  Yoongi’s cheeky smile grew larger at the look.

Taehyung: That hurt, Yoongs.

Yoongi shrugged.

Taehyung: Do you want to do AN intro or should I?

Yoongi: What do you mean? That was the intro.

Taehyung: You making fun of me?

Yoongi: No, me making fun of your lack of an intro.  Jungkook will work his magic, right?

Yoongi looked into the camera

Jungkook laughed with a thumbs up to the video.  He took out his notepad and made a note saying “Make Yoongi’s intro overdramatic”

Taehyung huffed.

Taehyung: Fine. I guess it works. But we have to say hi to the people first.

Yoongi: Well, you kinda just did.

Taehyung: Hyung! I mean both of us saying hello!

Yoongi: Why do we both have to say hello if you already did.

Yoongi was very insistent in the teasing today.

Taehyung: Hyung!

Taehyung whined and pouted, looking at Yoongi with big puppy-like eyes. Yoongi simply stared back for a second before sighing and looking into the camera with a small smile

Yoongi: Hi, everyone.

Taehyung smiled wide and big, looking into the camera as well.

Taehyung: Hello people of the interwebernet!

Taehyung spoke with an overly cheery voice, which Yoongi couldn’t help but smile more at, turning to face the younger.

Yoongi: Interwebernet?

Taehyung looked proud of himself as he turned to Yoongi.

Taehyung: Yup.

Yoongi: And you’re sticking with it?

Taehyung: Yup.

Yoongi: Alright, interwebernet it is, I guess

Taehyung: Anyways.

Taehyung looked back at the camera.

Taehyung: Welcome back to my channel everybody! As you can see we have a special guest in the video today! You all probably know him, but if, for some reason, you’ve been living under a rock, or stumbled upon this video by accident, this-

Taehyung gestured toward Yoongi.

Taehyung: -is Agust D, or as I know him, Yoongi hyung!

Yoongi waved his hands normally in front of the camera before starting to pull silly poses. Taehyung laughed.

Taehyung: You know Jungkook is gonna put those in, right?

Yoongi shrugged and Taehyung chuckled.

Taehyung: So, would you care to do the honors of explaining what we’ll be doing today, Yoongi hyung?

Yoongi nodded looking at Taehyung.

Yoongi: Sure.

Yoongi turned back to the camera.

Yoongi: Recently, there have been a lot of different rumors going around about me, and even a couple about Tae.  Some are harmless, but it’s starting to get a bit out of hand, so I asked Tae if we could work this into a video, hence what we’re doing right now.

Yoongi turned to Tae, giving him a silent clue to take over the explanation.

Taehyung: So, today, we’ve got a list of questions, along with a few other fun questions thrown in there and we’ll be taking turns answering them.  I thought it would be fun to kind of make this feel a bit lighter than it is and paint each other’s faces while we do it.  We both have our arts, his obviously being music and mine being photography mostly, so we thought it might be fun if we try another art. And since we know each other pretty damn well now, I’ll be painting Yoongi how I see him and Yoongi will paint me how he sees me.  At the end, after all of our questions, we’ll explain what our masterpiece means.

Yoongi: If you don’t want to hear the truth about us or you just don’t care, feel free to click off of the video.  Some of you might not like what you hear, but we will be telling the full truth in this video.  It’s going to be much longer than a lot of Tae’s other videos, so get a snack and settle in.

Taehyung: Oh, Jungkook, before you post this, we aren’t monetizing it. I’ll probably forget to tell you later.

Jungkook wrote on his notebook a won symbol crossed out.

Yoongi and Taehyung each turned toward each other situating themselves before looking up at each other. They both smiled wide, a slight red tint crawling up their cheeks, unnoticeable to the camera unless looking closely.

Taehyung: Hi.

Yoongi: Hi.

They stared at each other for a moment before Yoongi cleared his throat, both of them snapping back into themselves.

Taehyung: I ordered some of these water-based face paints online.

Taehyung held up one color at a time in quick succession.

Taehyung: Got some make-up brushes.

Taehyung held all of them up at once.

Taehyung: And a couple other things that we can use if we need them. Obviously, this isn’t going to be a tutorial or anything, but I’ll leave the links to the products below in case you want to buy them, too. And, so all of you know, we tested them out on ourselves before this and they were safe to use.  I read somewhere that some paints can affect people differently, but we did try them on both of us just to make sure.

Yoongi: He actually tried every color. Very thorough

Taehyung: Safe.  I think the word you mean is safe.

Yoongi chuckled.

Taehyung: Do you want to paint me first or do you want me to paint you first?

Yoongi: I’ll do you first.

Taehyung smirked.

Taehyung: Oh, will you now.

Yoongi rolled his eyes.

Yoongi: I’ll PAINT you first, pervert.

Taehyung laughed before leaning forward, Yoongi picking up the white paint and one of the brushes.  He wet the brush and dipped it in the paint, before starting.

Yoongi: Close your eyes

Taehyung did as Yoongi said, Yoongi immediately painting over his eyelids as soon as they were shut.

Taehyung: So, question number one.  How do your collaborations happen?

Yoongi: Well, it’s surprisingly a very complicated process to be honest. You can open your eyes now.

Taehyung opened his eyes, looking at Yoongi as he continued painting his face.

Yoongi: Whichever person wants the collaboration to happen usually has the harder job to begin with.  Their team has to get a meeting with the other artist.  Usually that’s when the other person’s job starts.  If I don’t know someone who approaches me, that’s when I’ll look into their work and see what they’ve made before to see if there’s a way I could see us working together.  If I already know them, that part is basically skipped, because I already have an idea.  For the most part, I like to try to see if there is a way, even if it’s a small chance.  Then, we book a meeting.  Talk over the concept.  Usually the person who has asked for the meeting already has an idea of what they want from the other, so that’s when I hear what they have for me to be in or vice versa. Then, unless the person already knows they want to be on the track, that’s usually when we think about it and decide if it’s what we want.

Yoongi finishes painting Taehyung’s face in a base coat of white and picks up the light blue along with a smaller brush.

Yoongi: I think the thing that people don’t realize is that I don’t do collabs I don’t want to.  With other companies, it is probably a much different process, but I try to take part in all parts of the process.  As you all know, the company I’m in is very small.  In one way, it’s a blessing, because I get to be a little freer with myself and my albums and such.  There are still restrictions on certain things, but I kind of made my way by doing what I wanted to.  Even before I was in a company, I refused to release something that I didn’t like.  I just want the best for everyone that likes my music.  When I started I never thought I would make it to where I am.  I don’t want to change things just because I’ve gone up in the music industry. I’m getting sidetracked, but basically, all of the collabs I’ve done with others I’ve been proud of. I don’t regret any of them and I wasn’t forced to do any of them. Also, there aren’t really ever any hard feelings if we don’t end up collaborating for any reason.  Just because one of us decides against it, doesn’t mean we automatically hate each other.

Yoongi looked down at the paper that Taehyung had set up next to him, pausing his painting for a moment while he read the question before returning to what he was doing.

Yoongi: Alright, Taehyung, your channel doesn’t really fit into one category, you jump from vlog, to streaming games, to skits, and so on.  Why did you choose to run your channel this way?

Taehyung: Ahh, I remember a lot of people were wondering about this one. I think it’s the most talked about one on my list.

Yoongi: Really?

Taehyung: Yeah. Even since I started the channel people have been talking about it.

Yoongi nodded grabbing another one of the small brushes and using the lilac color this time.

Taehyung: There isn’t really a crazy explanation for it or anything.  I’ve always had a scattered brain.  My thoughts are always jumping from one place to another and I guess my channel reflects that.  I love trying new things and involving other people when I can.  If I have an idea that I like, but it happens to be a gaming video, or a tutorial, or anything, I don’t have any reason not to.  I’m not confined to one specific box.  I don’t do this thing for views, I mean I started this channel because I was bored one day, and it sounded fun.  It’s kind of like your music in a way.  I make videos that I like. Things that are fun.  Yeah, it’s a lot of work to keep it up and going, but I’m still having fun with it and others seem to enjoy it for the most part, too. I don’t really worry about it too much to be honest with you.

Yoongi: Good. You shouldn’t.

Yoongi put down his brush and looked into the camera.

Yoongi: Let this be a lesson to all of you out there.  Do something you like and something you’re proud of and you won’t have to have regrets. No matter what other people think.

Taehyung turned to the camera, smile big and wide.

Taehyung: Yeah!

Yoongi smiled, shaking his head and rolling his eyes at the younger’s cute antics.  Then, they proceeded to turn back toward each other once more.  Yoongi cleaned off the brush he was using in the water cup that was set up and picked up the light green color, continuing to paint.

Taehyung: Alright, Yoongi.  We have a lot of heavier things that involve the both of us in the next questions, so, before we get too into that part, tell us a little bit about what you’re currently working on.

Yoongi smiled.

Yoongi: Well, of course I’ve been working with a lot of other artists recently on the production side of everything.  The ones that have been released have been pretty well-received, so thank you to everyone who has been supporting us. There are more collaborations to come, so stay tuned for those.  But I know that’s not really what people are wondering about.

Taehyung smiled at Yoongi as the elder switched brushes and paints, now picking up a magenta color and using that.

Yoongi: My fourth mixtape will be coming out very soon.  There are a couple of surprises on there that you might not expect.  I’m really proud of everything going into it.  That being said, it might be one of my most controversial projects I’ve worked on.  I’ll just be talking about some things that aren’t usually said.  Things people may be too scared to say.  I’m sure there will be a lot of backlash.  On one or two songs that I’m thinking of in particular, but I hope, even with all of that being said, you’ll give it a chance.  But, I’ve grown a lot since I started in music and this is a good reflection of that.

Taehyung: And when does that come out?

Yoongi: It’ll be out about a month from now.

Taehyung: And I am positive people will love it. From what I’ve heard, it’s gonna be amazing hyung.

Yoongi smiled.

Yoongi: Thanks, Tae.

Taehyung: Hey, I’m only speaking the truth.

Yoongi shook his head as he continued smiling, moving onto the yellow color.

Yoongi: Okay, I know this one already, but how did you decide to make your YouTube channel and when did Jungkook and Jimin become a part of it?

Taehyung: Oh, this one wasn’t really a rumor or anything, but a lot of people wonder how it all started and honestly, it’s a boring story.  Basically, I was in my media class and the teacher assigned us a project.  We just had to do something out of the ordinary and write up a little report on how people reacted to it.  It was kinda dumb and most people just faked it, but for mine, I decided to post a bunch of crazy videos and see what kind of comments I would get and then I used it in my presentation.  I’ve deleted those videos now, but you can probably find them somewhere if you’re really curious.  So, that’s how it all started.

Yoongi: And what about Jimin and Jungkook?

Taehyung smiled.

Taehyung: It’s funny seeing you ask that when you already know the answer.

Yoongi: Yes, but the people don’t know it now, do they?

Taehyung chuckled.

Taehyung: Well, I’ve already told everyone how I met them, so that’s not a secret, but they’ve actually been a part of it from the beginning. Jungkook just refused to be on the camera, so he stayed behind it.  Still does, isn’t that right, Jungkook?

Jungkook laughed and jotted down a note to keep that part in and reply to it in text.

Taehyung: And Jimin was always there helping with ideas, but he had the same issue.  He just didn’t want to be on camera.  They were both camera shy to begin with, which is kind of surprising when you see them on camera.  Especially Jimin.  They still get a bit shy sometimes, but Jungkook is always in his element in the gaming videos we do, and it only takes a couple of minutes for Jimin to get used to the camera again.  It’s been the three amigos from the beginning, and it will be until the end.  They have no choice in the matter.

Taehyung smiled at his hyung, a softness in his eyes as the elder chuckled quietly.  Yoongi’s chuckles slowed to a stop and he looked back up at Taehyung.

Yoongi: Okay, what’s next?

Taehyung: So, the next questions have to do with both of us.  Either we both have the same question, or it has to do with the both of us.  So, we can still take turns asking the questions, but we can both answer them.

Yoongi nodded his head.

Taehyung: This one is for you, though, so we’ll start off with it. Why did you refuse to do any sort of interview before doing these?

Yoongi picked up the lilac color with a slightly larger brush.

Yoongi: I guess, I was kind of afraid that people would see me and be disappointed.  More than that, I didn’t want people to hate me and automatically write off my music, because I don’t necessarily look or sound like I do in my music.  I’m Min Yoongi first and foremost.  Agust D is this persona of what I am on the inside.  All of my fears, doubts, thoughts on the world we live in, that comes out in my lyrics.  But, that’s not all I am, and I think people forget that, so I guess I was just scared.

Yoongi picked up the vibrant orange color and cleaned off one of the smaller brushes he was using previously.

Yoongi: My company wanted me to do more things like interviews and attending award shows and such, which is understandable.  That’s what you do when you’re in this industry.  They weren’t necessarily pushing me to do it, because it was well overdue, and I know that.  There was a point where the whole mystery persona thing was growing old and they needed to do something to make it fresh again, so I agreed. And now, here we are.

Yoongi put down the paint and brush that he was using and looked Taehyung over.

Taehyung: Done?

Yoongi: I’m not sure.

He looked at the bag that Taehyung had next to the paints.

Yoongi: What other kinds of things do you have over here?

Yoongi didn’t wait for a reply as he started looking through the bag of goodies.  A few moments passed before he pulled out a little container filled with glitter.

Taehyung: Really? Glitter?

Yoongi: What do you mean? Of course, I’m going to use glitter.

He picked up the white paint and two small brushes and started applying the glitter on the other’s face, using the fresh white paint as an adhesive for the glitter to sit on. A few moments later, Yoongi leaned back and looked at Tae once more before smiling.

Yoongi: Done.

Taehyung: You sure?

Yoongi: Yep, you look perfect.

Taehyung giggled and got in position to start painting Yoongi’s face.  He picked up the white paint and started.

Yoongi: Next question- Who was the one who suggested doing the interviews between us?

Taehyung chuckled as Yoongi shyly put a hand up.

Taehyung: Yoongi was the one who first suggested doing the interviews and such.  And let me tell you, when Jimin got the call, none of us believed anything his manager was saying.

Yoongi: If I recall correctly, you hung up on him and told him to “stop playing games with your heart”.

Taehyung: Well, how would you feel if you got a call from your idol out of the blue saying they wanted to meet you?

Yoongi smirked cheekily.

Yoongi: Your idol?

Taehyung scoffed.

Taehyung: I think that it’s common knowledge that I basically worshipped at your feet. Now close your eyes for a second.

Yoongi chuckled and smiled, doing as the younger said. Taehyung took the brush and covered one eye, extending past the lid to create a large splotch of white in that area.

Taehyung: Okay you can open.

Yoongi opened his eyes with a questioning face

Yoongi: Only one?

Taehyung: Yep, I’ll do the other one in a little bit.

Yoongi: Okay.

Taehyung picked up a different brush and the light brown color and started painting once again.

Yoongi: Where were we?

Taehyung: I was just about to ask you why you chose me of all people to do the interviews.

Yoongi gave a small, fleeting smile.

Yoongi: Were you?

Taehyung simply nodded his head, still engrossed in his current masterpiece.

Taehyung: I mean, I was a small time YouTuber doing this just for the fun of it.  I never did any interviews beforehand, even though my channel had every other type of video you could imagine. Why did you randomly decide that I was the one you wanted to do the interview when you could have had someone better and much more qualified?

Yoongi: Well, for one, nobody is better.

Although you couldn’t see it with the face paint, Taehyung was flustered.  He stopped painting the portion he was working on and just looked at Yoongi’s honest smile for a moment.

Yoongi: But, the reason I ultimately chose you was because of one specific video of yours.

Taehyung looked at him questioningly.

Taehyung: Really? Which one?

Yoongi: “You Need to Listen”

Taehyung: Hyung that was like a few years ago.

Yoongi: Yes, it was.  You can tell by the title.

Yoongi smirked playfully and Taehyung smiled before returning to painting.

Taehyung: How did you come across it?

Yoongi: Oh, I already knew about it before they wanted me to find an interviewee.

Taehyung: What?

Yoongi: Right after you posted that video, I was in a time where I just felt extremely homesick.  So, I went on YouTube and searched Daegu and your “Daegu Story” video came up on the screen, so I clicked on it.  I saw the beautiful clips of all of the familiar places and then I heard your voice, and it reminded me so much of home.  I binged a lot of your videos until my homesickness went away and I became busier.

Taehyung his hand to his lap as he looked at the elder in awe.

Taehyung: Wait, so you’re saying-

Yoongi: I was a fan of yours, too, Tae.  I even watched some of your other videos whenever they popped up in my feed.

Taehyung was now gaping at Yoongi, eyes wide as saucers as he took in the information.

Jungkook made sure to write down that this moment was a must have in the final cut of the video.

Yoongi: Anyways, I remembered a little bit of that video when they asked me to find someone, so I went back and re-watched it and I knew it had to be you. Then I watched a couple of your more current videos to catch up a little.

It was silent for a moment, Taehyung still just staring. Yoongi looked down at the face paint and brush still in the other’s hand.

Yoongi: Are you gonna-

Taehyung: I’m dreaming, aren’t I?

Yoongi: What?

Taehyung: There’s no way in hell you knew about me in my cringey times. I’m either dreaming or dead.

Yoongi smirked at the other before grabbing his wrist that was holding the paint brush and gesturing it toward his face.

Yoongi: You can’t just leave it unfinished, Tae.

Taehyung glared at Yoongi for a moment, upset that he was changing the subject so quickly, but conceding nevertheless.

Taehyung: Okay, saying I did believe you, what part of that video made you choose me?

Yoongi: You were very passionate about the things you were talking about.  For those who don’t know, that video was during the time that a certain celebrity was having troubles within their fan base.  You all probably know who it is, because it was all over everywhere.  Anyways, that was a huge time in their fandom.  There were a lot of rumors going around at the time about this person and other people in the industry.  Then, the saesangs decided to take it upon themselves and try and find out if the rumors were true.  They were being stalked and harassed, scarily it was from overly curious fans.  That’s another reason why it took me so long to come into the public eye, because everything happening at that time was terrifying.

Taehyung nodded, remembering that time as he switched brushes and grabbed the orange color.

Yoongi: Anyways, everything was getting out of hand and then you made that video.  It was kind of like this one in the way that it was much longer than your typical video, but you were just so passionate about giving them privacy and demanding people to realize they were still people too.  I was kind of proud of you when I first watched it, because people kept downplaying everything in the media and you weren’t sugar-coating anything.  It was pure and raw.  After that, I remember, in your videos, you would sometimes throw shade when people were being overly nosey.  I don’t know.  I just felt like after that moment I could trust you.

Taehyung put his hand in his lap as he listened to what the elder had to say, now fully enthralled in his words.

Yoongi: You were so adamant about people needing privacy and saying all celebrities are humans first.  That paired with your attitude.  You know, the whole I-don’t-care-as-long-as-we’re-all-happy thing.  Those two things made me think that if I trusted, you wouldn’t take advantage of me, and I’m glad that I was right.

Taehyung looked at Yoongi and without a second thought, he surged forward, hugging the elder tight as a smile grew on his face. He was startled for a moment before he relaxed into the hug, careful to keep the wet paint away from Taehyung, but relishing in the comfort.  It was silent for a moment, neither of them letting go of each other until Taehyung finally pulled back, smile on his face.

Taehyung: I’m glad you gave me the chance, hyung.

Yoongi couldn’t stop the shy smile from adorning his features.

Taehyung: So, what next?

Taehyung picked up the orange color to put the finishing touches of that color and Yoongi snapped back to himself before looking at the list of questions.

Yoongi: I think we’re on the last questions already, which are the big ones that people have been talking about, especially recently.

Taehyung: Ahh, those ones.

Yoongi: Yep.  First one is- What is your sexuality?

Taehyung set down the orange and picked up his last color, along with a slightly larger brush.

Taehyung: Well, it’s not really a secret, but I don’t think I’ve ever said it on camera, but I am actually bisexual.  Now, I know what you’re all thinking… He likes girls?

Yoongi started chuckling, which made Taehyung smile.

Taehyung: But, yes.  I do like girls… and I like boys.  To be fair, you guys weren’t that far off thinking I was fully gay.  I’ve been attracted to both men and women in the past.  It wasn’t really ever a question for me.  I’ve been with both, as well.  But, I do tend to be slightly more attracted to men.  It’s like a 70-30 balance in my mind toward men.  That’s kind of a misconception some people have about bisexuality.  A lot of people think it’s like an even balance of attraction, but it’s different for everyone.  Some people may be like that, but most people I know that are bisexual, including myself, are usually a bit more attracted to one gender.

Yoongi: And this has been a lesson in bisexuality brought to you by Kim Taehyung.

Taehyung smiled.

Taehyung: Okay, close your eyes again.

Yoongi did as Taehyung said and the younger took his paint brush, covering the unpainted eye with the black color.

Taehyung: Okay, you’re good.

Yoongi opened his eyes.

Taehyung: Okay, I’m sure people didn’t care nearly as much about me answering that question, but if you don’t want to hyung, that’s okay.  You don’t have to.

Yoongi: Don’t worry so much, Tae. I’m fine with people knowing.

Taehyung nodded with an encouraging smile.

Yoongi: I’m actually pansexual. For those of you, who may not be familiar with what that is, basically, gender doesn’t matter to me.  I have been attracted to people of different genders.  I haven’t actually been with very many people in my life.  Only two in total, actually, and that’s since I was a teenager.  The reason for that is I’m actually demisexual, as well.  Sounds confusing- saying I’m pansexual and demisexual.  I don’t know if there’s a word for that or not, but basically, it means that I like people of different genders, but I have to like them in a romantic way before I am sexually attracted to them.  I can find people physically attractive, but not be attracted to them, if that makes sense.  Like I can see that they are beautiful or handsome but not really feel anything.  And crushes aren’t ever a little thing for me.  I don’t get crushes easily, because of how I am, so if I do, it’s a big deal. I feel like I just keep saying the same thing over and over to be honest.

Taehyung: You’re doing great, hyung.  It’s hard to explain something that’s just who we are.  The fact that you can explain it, when it’s something so complicated, is pretty amazing.  Sexuality is a hard subject to tackle and talk about.  And demisexuality isn’t overly common.  A lot of people don’t know what it is and to be honest, I think you’re explaining it well.

Yoongi smiled.

Yoongi: Thanks, Tae.

Taehyung smiled back and put down the brush for the face paint.

Taehyung: Okay, I’m finished painting, so we will explain our designs in a minute, but the last thing the people want to know is what our relationship is.

Yoongi: You know, I’ve seen a couple of our ship videos.  We look cute together.

Taehyung chuckled.

Taehyung: We do, don’t we?

Yoongi nodded, smirk on his face.  They both turned toward the camera.

Yoongi: The two of us- we’re just really good friends.

Taehyung: We became friends really quickly after our first interview together.  We just kind of clicked. Now, we see each other at least a couple of times a week, even if we’re really busy.  He’s made his way right up there next to Jimin and Jungkook in the people most important to me list.

Yoongi: Well, you already know you’re on mine too.

Taehyung smiled and nodded.

Taehyung: I know.  You don’t just give anyone your studio password.

Yoongi: I don’t give anyone my studio password ever! You should be grateful.

Taehyung: Oh, come on, you love when I bring you food and we cuddle on the couch.

Yoongi looked down in embarrassment. Taehyung took the opportunity to lean over and put an arm around his hyung. A few seconds later, Taehyung sat back up in his chair, letting go of Yoongi in the process.

Taehyung: Okay, now it’s time for the big reveal. Oh, just one second.

Taehyung stood up, walking off screen for a moment and coming back with a mirror in hand.

Taehyung: I’ll look at mine first and then you can explain why you chose to do it.

Taehyung looked into the mirror finally seeing Yoongi’s masterpiece and given the huge smile that broke out on his face, he was pleased with it.  Yoongi had painted a beautiful butterfly, one wing on each side of his face, both of them meeting at his nose.  The beautiful pastel colors contrasted beautifully with the white base Yoongi had painted first. Taehyung was impressed with the skill that Yoongi showed.  The elder gave it a moment before he started explaining why he did what he did.

Yoongi: So, I made a butterfly… Obviously.

Yoongi fidgeted slightly nervous, before looking at the younger who was patiently waiting with comforting eyes.

Yoongi: I used the pastels to kind of show that soft side.  You’re kind and warm-hearted.  It’s always comforting being around you, which is kind of how pastels feel in my opinion.  I did the white background to make them stand out more, because of how outgoing you are and just to kind of represent your personality.  I used white because you are always so bright.  No matter how dull things seem, you can always lighten a mood.  That’s also why I put on the glitter in a few little places.  I chose a butterfly, because, well they’re one of the most beautiful creatures, which someone would have to be blind not to see about you.  But, I’m not talking about physical beauty, even though, we all know you are physically beautiful.  You probably have one of the most beautiful souls of anyone I’ve ever met in my life.  When things bring you down, you get up and use your wings to fly even higher.  So, yeah.  That’s why I did it.

Taehyung smiled wide, a couple of tears escaping his eyes and messing up his painted face a little bit.

Taehyung: Dang it, hyung!  You weren’t supposed to make me cry! Now I’m messing it up!

Yoongi: It’s okay, Tae.  It’ll still be there always.

Taehyung hit Yoongi slightly on the shoulder.

Yoongi: Ow!

Taehyung: Stop saying things that are gonna make me cry more!

Yoongi: Okay! Fine! Jeez!

Taehyung wiped his eyes carefully trying not to ruin any more of the face paint than necessary.

Yoongi: Should I look at mine now?

Taehyung nodded handing the mirror over to the elder. Yoongi looked into it and couldn’t help the chuckle that bubbled up.

Yoongi: A cat?

Taehyung was smiling and laughing, as well.  There was a large splotch of white around one of Yoongi’s eyes as well as another around a little bit of his mouth area.  There were a couple of tan and orange spots around in a couple of other little patches, including a tan splotch over the eyebrow that was on the opposite side of the white splotched eye.  The rest of his face was in a base coat of black with a couple of very faint whiskers able to be seen and at the tip of his nose sat a little tan-ish orange cat nose.

Taehyung: Yes, but I actually have an explanation for it!

Yoongi let his chuckles die down.

Yoongi: Okay, go ahead, then.

Taehyung: Okay, well, first thing is that cats are kind of known to be grumpy, which reminds me of you in a way.

Yoongi looked at Taehyung with mouth wide, about to complain.

Taehyung: And before you say something, no I’m not calling you grumpy! But when I first saw you and such, I was very intimidated, because you did kind of look grumpy.  But the thing about cats and about you, hyung, is that you are actually the opposite.  I grew up with a cat in my house and there were some things I learned from him.  Cats are pretty misunderstood.  People take them being more introverted and warier of people as being grumpy, while in reality, they are just like any one of us and they’re afraid of being hurt. But as soon as a cat trust you, you really get to see them for who they are.  They’re extremely loyal and smart.  They might get annoyed with you, but that doesn’t mean they love you any less.  While they’re guarded around most people, if they trust you, they’ll show you a side to them you may not have known.  Like how affectionate they are and how they just want to be loved.

Yoongi looked down at his hands for a moment, a lot of this sinking in before he looked back up at Taehyung.

Taehyung: You are like a cat, hyung.  And that’s not in any way a bad thing.  I made your cat different colors for a reason. The colors around the black represents the way you care.  You do it subtly, by helping people so much with those people sometimes being none the wiser. You hide it, because you don’t care if people know it’s you that’s helping them, the only thing that matters is that they’re happy.  The white over your eye is because of the way you open people’s eyes and minds to different things.  Make people think through your music and your lyrics.  The tan, on your eyebrow is your sarcastic humor, which never fails to make me laugh like an idiot.  The orange is for your dreams, full of color and always shining bright. The white on your lips is because there is nothing more amazing than getting to see you smile and just be happy.  So, to be honest… I understand the lil meow meow thing.

Yoongi chuckled at the last statement, feeling on the verge of tears himself, but able to hold them back just barely.  That doesn’t mean his voice didn’t sound watery when he spoke again.

Yoongi:  I don’t even know what to say to that.

Taehyung: You don’t have to say anything.

Yoongi smiled and the two leaned over and gave each other hugs, hearts full as they held each other for a minute. When they pulled back, they both smiled before facing the camera once again.

Taehyung: So, that concludes today’s video. If you want to check out other videos we’ve done before, I’ll leave the playlist in the description below and I’ll also leave a link to where you can preorder hyung’s album, which you should all definitely check out.  And I think that’s it.  Do you have anything else to say?

Yoongi shook his head.

Yoongi: Nope, I think you pretty much covered it.

Taehyung: Okay, then we’ll see you in the next video.

They sat there for a moment before Taehyung got up and walked closer to the camera, stopping the recording for a brief moment before it turned back on.

Jungkook looked at the video for a second, a bit confused.  It took him only a second to realize that Taehyung must’ve pressed the stop button twice, not even realizing that it started recording again.  He was going to stop the video and cut off the rest of the accidentally recorded video, but after a bit of thought and deciding that he wouldn’t actually use any of this in the final cut, his curiosity got the best of him.

Taehyung went off screen for a moment, coming back with his phone in hand.  Yoongi looked at him skeptically as the younger tapped at his screen, before sitting back down next to him.

Yoongi: What are you doing?

Taehyung: I’m turning on my camera, so I can take pictures of us.

Taehyung smiled and Yoongi couldn’t stop himself from agreeing.  After a few smiles and normal-faced pictures, the two of them started trying to make each other laugh with their silliness.  If it was a competition, Yoongi would be winning, because Taehyung’s giggles only increased with each new pose.  Yoongi looked extremely endeared at the younger.  When Taehyung was satisfied at the amount of pictures they got, he put his phone in his pocket, both of them still giggling slightly, with wide smiles.

Yoongi: Should we take all of this off now?

Taehyung: Yeah.

Taehyung reached out to a table off camera, almost falling off his chair if it wasn’t for Yoongi’s quick reflexes kicking in and balancing him until he grabbed whatever he needed. Taehyung looked guiltily at the elder who had wide eyes and worry written all over his face.

Yoongi: You need to be more careful, Taehyung-ah!

Taehyung: Sorry, hyung… But I got the make-up wipes.

Taehyung smiled nervously, Yoongi chuckling as he put his head in his hand.

Yoongi: You really are something, Tae.

Taehyung: Yeah, but you love me.

Yoongi: Never said I didn’t.

Taehyung smiled shyly for a moment before turning to face Yoongi, who did the same.  He opened up the package of make up wipes and grabbed one out before leaning in towards the elder.  Gently, but still firm enough to get the face paint off, Taehyung started wiping down the elder’s face with the wipe.  When the wipe was completely full of color, he looked at the elder’s face to see only a small spot of skin uncovered.

Taehyung: We’re gonna need a lot of these.

Yoongi smiled as Taehyung got back to work, clearing his face of as much paint as he possibly could.  It was pretty quiet as he did it, Taehyung focusing on the task at hand and making sure he didn’t rub too hard or anything and Yoongi staring at the concentrated face the younger was making. Taehyung made one last swipe, before looking over the elder’s now clean face before putting the wipe in the trash with the rest of them.

Taehyung: Done. Now me.

Yoongi grabbed the wipes from Taehyung and started doing the same as the younger did.  He was about halfway through removing the paint before Taehyung noticed how silent he was.

Taehyung: You’re awfully quiet.  You okay?

Yoongi: Yeah, I’m fine, just got something on my mind.

Taehyung: Is it about the video? Cause I don’t have to put it up if you don’t want to.

Yoongi smiled at Taehyung being so caring.

Yoongi: No, it’s not about the video, Tae.  I’m fine with that and you know it.

Taehyung: Okay… But you know you can talk to me if something’s on your mind.  I’ll always be here for you no matter what, hyung.

Yoongi: I know, Tae.  It’s just- I don’t want to make anything awkward.

Taehyung: You won’t make anything awkward, hyung.

Yoongi sighed and looked down, grabbing one last wipe and getting the rest of the paint off the younger’s face.

Yoongi: You don’t know that, Tae.

Taehyung: I do. I won’t let it get awkward. I want to help you if I can, hyung.

Yoongi finished off wiping Taehyung’s face and put the wipe in the trash, not saying anything.  Taehyung waited for a moment to see if he would and when there was still silence, he reached over and grabbed one of Yoongi’s hands.  Yoongi just stared at their intertwined hands for a moment before he felt Taehyung’s other one cup his cheek, guiding his face up until the elder was looking at him.  Yoongi looked into Taehyung’s eyes and got lost for a moment until Taehyung dropped his hand to land firmly on top of their hands, successfully sandwiching Yoongi’s in between both of his.

Taehyung: You don’t have to be afraid to tell me anything, hyung.

It was said in such a soft and comforting voice, Yoongi gathered all of the courage he could muster and asked him what had been on his mind.

Yoongi: Have you ever thought about it?

Taehyung looked confused.

Taehyung: Thought about what, hyung?

Yoongi: Me… and you... Like, being more than just-

Yoongi stopped, knowing that Taehyung would understand what he was trying to say. Taehyung looked slightly shocked, both hand squeezing the elder’s a miniscule amount more as his heart sped up.

Taehyung: Have you, hyung?

Yoongi looked into is eyes, full of something he couldn’t quite put his finger on. The elder’s eyes were full of sincerity as he replied.

Yoongi: Yeah. I- I have.

Taehyung knew how much it meant for Yoongi to feel anything even close to that, so his breath was completely stolen the moment he heard those words.  When he recovered enough, he spoke in almost a whisper.

Taehyung: Me?

Yoongi: Yeah. You.

Taehyung started looking around trying to make sense of everything.

Taehyung: But how? I’m just- well, I’m just me. And you- when?

Yoongi: 5 months.

Taehyung: 5! 5? That’s- how?

Yoongi: You are seriously one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, Tae.  I think it might have started earlier than I remember, but that’s when I really realized something was changing. It took me a while to realize what it was, but I haven’t felt anything close to it in a long time.

Taehyung: Really? For me?

Yoongi: Yes, for you… It’s not that hard to believe.

Taehyung: It is, though, hyung! I’m just me.  And you are the epitome of amazing.  This is like giving your heart to me.  I don’t deserve it hyung. I don’t deserve you.

Taehyung started to unclasp his hands from around Yoongi’s when the elder’s eyes shot up and he grabbed onto them holding them in place.  Yoongi’s eyes were full of sincerity as Taehyung’s ones met them, a few tears escaping them.

Yoongi: You deserve everything, Tae.  Absolutely everything.  You are the most amazing thing to happen to me. Yeah, I didn’t understand what was happening at first. But when I realized, it wasn’t a shock at all.  Things made sense when I figured it all out.  You are so much more than you think.  I know you might not feel the same way, and I’ll respect that, but you should know that I think you are everything.  It wasn’t a surprise that I fell in love with you.

Taehyung’s eyes widened for a mere moment before he propelled forward, hands untangling from the elder’s to grab his face as he pressed their lips together. Yoongi was in shock for a moment before it settled in and he started kissing the younger back, hands wrapping around his waist to bring them closer together.  This continued for several moments, Taehyung basically ending up sitting in Yoongi’s lap before they parted. Yoongi looked at the younger’s smiling, tear-streaked face, before he brought one hand up to wipe them. Taehyung gave a little giggle, happiness pouring out in the sound before he looked at the elder.

Taehyung: You love me?

Yoongi: Yeah… I do.

Taehyung: Well, that’s good, then, because I think I love you, too.

Yoongi smiled wide.

Yoongi: Really?

Taehyung nodded enthusiastically.

Yoongi: You’re not just saying that-

Taehyung cut him off with another kiss, this one short and sweet, and filled with love.

Taehyung: I would never.  I have for a while now.

Yoongi: How long?

Taehyung: Since that day we went to the zoo together.  You were so stressed the night before and I hated seeing you hurt.  It ripped me apart.  When you fell asleep in my arms, I texted your mom and asked her what made you happy and she told me you always loved the zoo, which I didn’t know if I believed until we got there.  I saw your beautiful smile and you were just shining so bright that day.  That’s when I knew.

Yoongi looked in awe at the younger.

Yoongi: That was last year!

Taehyung: Yeah, well, I didn’t want to ruin everything.  It’s the highest honor in my book for someone to win your heart and I was sure I would never be able to. It definitely would have changed things and I was satisfied with being your friend. If I told you when I knew, you would have felt bad about not loving me and you would have pulled away.  I didn’t want to lose you, hyung.

Yoongi thought about that, knowing that it was probably true.

Yoongi: I’m sorry you had to wait so long for me.

Taehyung smiled, giving the elder a peck before leaning their foreheads together.

Taehyung: I didn’t even think it was possible, so this is perfect.

Taehyung leaned back looking in Yoongi’s eyes.

Taehyung: For the record, though, I would wait forever for you, hyung.

Yoongi smiled bright and wide, Taehyung following right behind him.

Jungkook took a deep breath and rolled his eyes as he blinked away the wetness in his eyes, careful not to let even a single tear drop.

He was extremely happy though.  Seeing the way Taehyung loved Yoongi, was a rollercoaster of emotions.  Taehyung never had any hope when it came to the elder, insisting that he wasn’t enough.  Yoongi deserved the best.  No matter how many times he and Jimin tried to convince him that he was enough, he wouldn’t believe them.  Now, hearing it from Yoongi himself, maybe Taehyung would start to believe.

And becoming friends with Yoongi, it was always harder to decipher what he was feeling, he was good at hiding those things, but not with Taehyung.  Taehyung always knew every single little thing.  It wasn’t that you couldn’t see anything.  He was just much better at hiding what he wanted to.  So, he and Jimin truly didn’t know that Yoongi was feeling more for Taehyung.  But boy was he happy for his hyungs.

They both deserved love and happiness and the fact that they found it within each other was more than anything he could have asked for them.

Jungkook reached into the drawer next to him and picked up an empty flash drive, inserting it into the computer.  He then went to the editing software he was using and highlighted the accidentally recorded footage.  Instead of deleting it like he planned to, he took that portion and clicked the save button.  He then clicked on the flash drive and clicked on the ‘New Folder’ button near the top of the screen.  He changed the name of the folder to ‘In case of emergencies’ and saved the video as ‘Tae + Yoongi’.  As soon as that was finished, he ejected the flash drive, and, with a sharpie, he wrote ‘T+Y’ on it before placing it back where it was.

He looked at the screen once again, smiling at the picture of those two looking so happy. Once again, he highlighted the accidentally recorded footage, but this time he deleted it, the beautiful picture of happiness now being replaced by the two of them facing the camera.

Jungkook decided that he would let Taehyung tell them about the two of them, not wanting to ruin something like this. So, he went back to working on the video.

It was only a few minutes later when he heard Taehyung and Jimin enter their apartment that they all share.  He couldn’t hear what they were saying exactly, but he could very vaguely hear the sound of talking.  He looked back at the video and, for a second, he wondered when Taehyung would decide to tell them-

Jungkook smiled.
