“Or the freakin’ pity glances one gets when people see ya don’t have a visible soul mark. My skin’s pretty, Bokkun! What do they care?’’ Atsumu sneered, “They don’t, ‘cause makin’ freakin’ theories about my personal life suits ‘em best!’’
Kiyoomi’s movements lost momentum, not having expected Miya Atsumu of all people to have an opinion about soulmates so similar to his own. What struck him the most was the fact Atsumu didn’t have one.
To not be the only one on his team without a soul mark—not that Atsumu could tell Kiyoomi didn’t have one at first sight—felt like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
His world shifts when his mark surfaces in the most unexpected of places upon a chance encounter.
Sanji stumbled in surprise, dropping his cigarette. "You're—" He realized he was yelling and dropped his voice into a whisper-yell. "You're fucking Luffy?!"
Zoro rolled his eyes. "Nah, he's not into that."
Sanji slid down to the deck and fumbled a new cigarette out of his pocket. "So you, what, go on dates?"
Zoro shook his head. "I'm not into that. We just—" He heaved a sigh, rubbing a hand over the back of his head. "I suck at explaining this." He raised his voice a little. "Hey, Luffy? You been listening?"
"Nah." Luffy's voice drifted down from the tangerine grove, and Sanji nearly dropped his cigarette again. How long had he been there? "You're talking about boring stuff." Which meant he had been listening, while Sanji was down here asking his boyfriend for a fuck. Shit.
Atsumu's hands are tied. He's one day away from sleeping on park benches before an impulsive decision lands him in a relationship with a mysterious man.
"The car drove away, engine smooth and silent, as Atsumu was left standing on the side of the street blushing profusely.
He allowed himself a single muffled scream into his hands before walking into the hotel.
Sakusa was right. The hotel was much nicer. "
Once upon a time, there lived a lonely man on a house upon a hill.
Sakusa Kiyoomi made his choice to be alone, but once a month—like a werewolf upon a full moon—he emerged from his self-imposed isolation to revel in everything the city had to offer.
Miya Atsumu happened to talk to him on one of those days.
