He watches as the foolish Ghost Hunters, here for thrill, glory, money, or a mix of the three, explore the haunted mansion that he remembers ever so long ago— -no no it wasn’t that long it was barely two years ago when he came here for a dare, he was stupid and regarded very little for the life he experienced but he graciously died for the three who accompanied him because they were his world-— the same mansion he had been tied to until he was set free from the spirit world, he vaguely remembers movies and buttered popcorn and ridiculous notions of being freed by the final feeling of contentment.
But he is so tired, and he wants to say goodbye to those he left behind but he will not apologize for the way he ended up like this.

He doesn’t meet the dragon so much as it is that he smacks right into it while he’s trying to prune the errant rose bush located in the right side of the royal garden into obedience.
“Wow,” the dragon says drily, peering down at where Dream is sprawled on the ground, “you’re not very bright are you?”
Dream responds by fainting.
