After his time in the Black Lion's void, Shiro needs help connecting to his new body.
“Shiro, listen to me.” Keith’s commanding voice made Shiro fall still. “I want to give you everything, but if you’re in too much of a hurry it’s just going to turn out the same as before. You go too hard, too fast, and you burn out before your body can catch up. I know you can do it, but you have to give yourself enough time to re-learn how.”
Somewhere in his rational brain Shiro knew Keith was right, but the thought of denying himself any longer turned his words into a frustrated whine deep in his throat.
Unmoved by the pathetic noise, Keith took a handful of Shiro’s hair and squeezed gently, just enough for the tug against his scalp to focus him without hurting him. “Be good,” Keith demanded, “and let me take care of you.”

Time travel has not yet been invented. But thirty years from now, it will have been. It will be instantly outlawed, used only in secret by the largest criminal organizations when they need to make someone disappear. Future tagging and tracking systems will make it almost impossible to carry out a murder or dispose of a body in secret, so they will send their enemies back in time, into the waiting sights of specialized assassins called loopers.
Keith is one such looper, under contract to the Syndicate which runs the fallen city of Seattle. He’s accepted his role within their murderous ranks. Until they send him someone he can’t kill: Shiro. Keith’s best friend, but thirty years older and with all the scars of a lifetime spent in a failed fight against the Syndicate.
Now Keith and both Shiros must work together to escape the wrath of the Syndicate in his present, and to somehow prevent the terrible future that has locked Shiro in a deadly thirty-year loop.

Shiro’s life is kind of a mess. His job sucks and his best friends are moving across the country back to their hometown. All he really has is Star Trek until the Big Bang pairs him with an artist that just might change everything.
“Do you remember that event I told you about?” His voice came out barely above a whisper.
Laughing again, Matt sat his sandwich down. “You mean your totally-not-porn writing competition?”
Shiro groaned. “It's not porn,” he hissed out quietly, “and it's not a competition, it's just an event.” He said, looking up into Matt's judgmental eyes. “Look, you own 6 replica anime swords. It's literally illegal for you to judge me for anything, ” he pointed an accusing finger at Matt's chest.
Matt held up his hands in mock surrender. “Ok, ok. So what about your event thing?”
Shiro looked back down at his phone with an awed smile. “I got paired with my favorite artist…” He answered wistfully.
