Noctis is given a second chance. It's drives a pit in his stomach - the overwhelming weight on his shoulders - because how do you rebuild the world?
His sole crutch is his friends, because at the very least, he's not alone.
But he spots the wedding rings on their fingers, and he's never felt so left behind.
“Are you listening to me? We have a problem.”
Noctis focused on the shape above him. As his vision cleared, his confusion grew. A boy stood over him, young, probably ten or so, dark blue eyes staring down at him sharply and black hair flopping over his forehead in a curly, untamed mess.
“Who are—” Noctis started, then froze.
Why was his voice so high pitched?
After finding themselves transformed into children, Noctis and Ardyn are forced to work together if they want any chance of getting their adult bodies back.
“Wait, wait wait. Wait. So you helped! Him go out!” Prompto fell forward onto his stomach and jabbed the carpet with a pointed finger for extreme emphasis. Ignis looked down his nose at him. Prompto scowled back.
“You let him go out with a guy named Dino. That’s the stupidest name ever. We can’t let Noct date a guy named Dino, what’s wrong with us?”
“Fear of rejection.”
“Obsessive dedication to my closest and oldest friend.”
“You guys suck.” Prompto focused on sending a flurry of emojis to Noct for the tenth time in five minutes. “If he doesn’t respond soon I’m calling.”
“You’ll do no such thing.”
Noctis goes out on a date. They have no idea just how much that will change everything.
