Summary
"Joining the rebellion is a very, very risky choice, little boy. It could cost you your life."
The bard doesn't break eye contact, unfazed. "That doesn't matter. I'll fight even if it kills me."
He doesn't realize how literally the gods might have taken that, until his life is lost in the final battle. It's fine, this is fine, things are fine. He can see the blue sky, hear the birds chirping carefree, and feel the gentle winds blowing against his cheek. His cheek, stained and blooded with dirt and red from a devastating battle.
His cheek, now clean and dotted with freckles instead. He doesn't have freckles. His reflection says otherwise.
This is not fine.

Summary
Paimon has seen many, many things.
She's travelled across Teyvat before, with a traveler not too different from the one she does now. He was bright, goofy, and the most cheerful individual she had ever met.
This new traveler, Lumine, is more reserved than he was. She's more polite, more caring. Not to say that Aether wasn't, but she notices the little things that he never did.
In spite of all their differences, Paimon still finds them to be very similar. Far too much for her liking.

Summary
In the months afterwards, she will find herself thinking about how she will tell the full story. What metaphors to use, what poignant contrasts and ironies; what parallels, what symbols, what wonderful details to poetically describe a foolish, silly truth:
That Amos, the sharpest eye in all of Mondstadt, had been perfectly blind.
(or: a tale of fate, human agency, and a love doomed to fail.)

Bookmarker's Notes
Probably one of the best fics I have ever read- It's focused on Amos.
