It wasn’t even the worst of Jaskier’s habits, but. It was the one that Geralt could perhaps do something about.
(Of course, he’d noticed Jaskier’s lingering attention, his fluttering pulse when Geralt stood near. He’d noticed the heated glances he shot Geralt when he thought he wasn’t watching, and his nervous restlessness when they were forced to share an inn bed.)
If Jaskier simply needed a warm body to vent his frustrations upon, well. It might as well be Geralt’s.

Jaskier knew the expression that Geralt wore. It was the expression he wore after being on the Path too long between villages. The look he wore after killing a monster and needing an outlet for his energy. It was the expression that often led him to hole up in a brothel for days straight, fucking himself to exhaustion or satiation whichever came first.
And that look was now firmly focused on Jaskier.

After facing off against a werewolf in the forest, both Jaskier and Geralt need an outlet for their pent up energy and emotions. So, why wouldn't they help each other out?

That’s what started it – a comment from the bard after an exhausting hunt. Most things did tend to start by Jaskier commenting on something or other. And Geralt might not have thought much of it, if the bard’s fingers weren’t curled through his hair and warm bathwater lapped against his chin. Jaskier always tended to poke the fire when he had the Witcher on the right side of pliable.

Geralt has a Praise Kink™ and just needs people to be soft with him for once and Jaskier likes to indulge him.
