After the death of father, Vi inherits the Atlas Enterprises “The Dreams of tomorrow Come to life” a simulation to relive memories, or create new ones from an empty slate. Vi plugs herself into the world of pain and a reminder she was never good enough for the woman of her ‘dreams’.

"Don't keep doing this to yourself, Vi." Jinx’s simulated voice echoed the hallways from her closet to the bathroom.
She pulled on her expensive button down and reached for her cufflinks.
"One day you won't wake up."
Counting on it.
Vi washed her face, not caring her collar was getting soaked with her out of order routine. This reminded her what was real and what wasn't. Maybe she was lying to herself in the memories.
"She was never real."
Vi gripped the sink. "Deactivate, you piece of shit!"

Summary
‘I promise you, Vi: she’s the real deal.’
Vi rocks back in her chair, folding her arms and pursing her lips. Her gut is normally trustworthy, and her gut is yelling at her to run the fuck away from this one.
But the tour is only days away. Tickets aren't selling, and from what she can see on social media it's because people are worried they're just going to cancel from the lack of a bass guitarist. Her options have been dwindling rapidly, and the only one she has left now is on her producer's desk, peering up at her from glossy stock paper, looking as unimpressed by the situation as Vi feels.
She rocks forwards again, staring hard at the image. This woman — this Caitlyn — is holding the guitar comfortably between her hands, her fingers are positioned correctly along its strings, and Vi supposes that perhaps it's not all carefully-styled bluster.
This is gonna be nothing but trouble, she thinks bitterly.
