Summary
Alex had her arms around both Kelly and Kara, and Kara’s arms were in turn around Alex and Lena, and they had created what Kara thought was like a nice human chain, where 'Happy New Year!'s and kisses through laughter were passed from one to the next to the next. It was just as Alex pulled away with an overstated 'mwah' that Kara had, half laughing, turned to kiss Lena on the cheek.
Lena, who, in what she would later argue was a very normal thing to do at midnight on New Year’s Eve, was just in the midst of turning her head toward Kara to say “Happy New Year” to her best friend. And so Kara had turned to face Lena at the exact moment that Lena had turned to face Kara and by the time either of them had realized what was happening, they were kissing.

Summary
Lena hates the theatre.
Okay, maybe hate is a strong word, but honestly, it’s accurate. She’s hated theatre for nearly as long as she can remember, her distaste lasting from childhood and through her adolescence and sticking stubbornly all the way to adulthood. She hates plays and opera and symphonies and musical theatre, and she hates having to sit in one place for hours at a time, and she hates how unproductive the whole ordeal is, how it means she has to waste precious time she could be spending in the lab watching people play public make-believe.
Theatre is annoying. A waste of time. Everyone who knows anything about her knows how much she hates it.
Which is why she would currently rather be anywhere in the world than here, at the Royal National City Theatre’s latest production of whatever the fuck.

In which Kara is a Shakespeare actor (and also Supergirl), and Lena can’t stop going to see the same production of Twelfth Night over and over because the actor who plays Viola is hot.

Summary
Lena runs out of things to look at in the room. Her eyes flit back to the green chair in the corner.
“We’re just friends,” Kara says. Just.
“So neither of you holds any romantic feelings for the other.”
“No,” Kara confirms.
Lena looks back at the blue vase. She thinks if she looks at it long enough she might start feeling like the water inside- calm, content, accepting that its vessel is shoddy and imperfect.
She feels both their eyes on her. Molly’s is gentle, asking. Kara’s is insistent.
“Lena?” Kara asks, and Lena quickly looks away.
“It’s okay,” Molly says. “It looks like we have a lot to talk about.”
