Hermes knew that there had to be some sort of catch, something terrible about the place to justify the suspiciously low rent.
He had assumed (correctly) that it would be a wreck, in desperate need of renovations and probably chock full of asbestos and lead and who knows what else. He was also unfazed by the fact that the walls were paper thin and the ceiling closer to a leaky sieve than anything else, as well as the fact that his front door refused to shut or lock properly.
And yet—even with all the things Hermes had anticipated about the apartment—the ghost was a complete surprise.

Summary
Hermes is a selkie who has fallen in love with a human.
After spending almost an entire year getting to know Charon in his seal form, Hermes decides that he wants to spend time with the reclusive boatman as a human as well.
With the bare minimum of plans he ends up half naked and freezing on Charon's doorstep. Ready to start their new life together.
