“That’s right,” she brushed his nose with hers, breathing hot air on his face. A scoff. “Yeah, like I would ever-” he cut off, startled as delicate fingers gingerly took his hand up to her eyes for examination.
“Was it because of me?” A quiet, insecure question. Vulnerable.
Who was he to squander the little bit of light she’d bestowed upon him? “Yeah.”
A flutter of the heart, a flip of the stomach, a glance to check for sincerity. A genuine thoughtfulness met her and she smiled, really truly smiled at him.
“You didn’t have to do that.”
He waited until her gaze returned to his own. He’d do it a million times over if she’d just look at him like that again. “I know.”
“Then why?” An almost whisper. His hand was nearly fully healed.
“He made you cry.”

Summary
One of the - potentially a bit silly - things that Hermione had insisted on was having a bride reveal with the groomsmen. She remembered a wedding she had gone to over her Christmas break in third year with her parents. It was one of her cousin’s weddings, and she’d heard about how the older girl had stepped in with the groomsmen before the actual ceremony for the purpose of getting a reaction to her all perfectly ready to walk down the aisle. She had clung fondly to the stories of how sweet the men had been, how warmly they had reminded her that her groom was going to die when he saw her.
Draco’s two best friends as groomsmen were likely to be a touch different, but she supposed there was still some fun in that.
