Summary
They're sending him a communications expert. He’d honestly never expected them to agree.
Now that they have, he’s no longer quite so sure he wanted them to. Someone from Starfleet will be joining him on Khana station, at least for a time. When they arrive, there will suddenly be three people with access to his lab, and one of them will be an unknown. He’ll have to get to know them, figure out how they work. He’ll need to find their tells and quirks, what conversation topics to avoid and how to speak to them to ensure smooth relations.
It sounds exhausting. He distantly wonders if it’s too late to tell Command that he’s changed his mind. He would never be able to live it down, and his reputation is already about as bad as it can get without him being thrown out of Starfleet entirely. The thought is nonetheless tempting.

Summary
Curious, Fordo flicks his gaze back over just as the vod’s trails up to his face, right on time to make solid eye contact. The flush on the vod’s face deepens, spreading down his neck and up to the tips of his ears, and his breath catches in his throat just enough to see in the hitch of his chest as he looks away. Fordo’s lips curl just a bit, his eyes going half-lidded as he hums, a breath of a note that nearly doesn’t make it out of his throat, almost more vibration than sound.
Even in the noisy, crowded club, the two of them are close enough to each other, the corner secluded enough, that the vod manages to catch the sound. His eyes dart back to Fordo’s face, catching lightly on Fordo’s lips, then away again as he swallows roughly, fidgeting on his seat.
Maybe this foray won’t be quite so pointless after all. There’s no better way to learn a vod’s base material composition than to take him apart, after all, and Seventeen is still AWOL so Fordo has no reason to linger in this crowd. Observations of a group can only hold his attention for so long, especially when he has a more interesting option close at hand.

Summary
Founded 287 years ago by the galaxy-revered ithorian botanist Tando Gauntee, the Sankalita Gardens Herd-ship boasts the largest and most comprehensive collection of flora and fauna in the Republic. Visited by scholars, researchers, and tourists from all over known space, it's a bustling hub of learning and entertainment like few others. It travels a regular route, visiting even the most distant planets from the core, offering the rare opportunity to experience a wealth of biomes that most republic citizens would never be able to see. Though most of the people on the ship are visitors at any given time there is also a large crew of permanent residents, both employees of the gardens and researchers making use of the facilities for their own scholastic pursuits. For the past century there has also been a small but well-regarded university of botany and biology that sprung up almost organically, with how many well-regarded scholars decided to make the ship their home. Summary
In the six months they haven’t seen each other, Rex has received a crash course in the Force and how it works. He knows he will never be as skilled as Master Windu or Skywalker, but Master Plo Koon has taught him enough. Enough to be useful, to have his own platoon.
Cody seems wary, guarded, even from him, but Rex has learned enough to be able to pick up on his old friend’s energy; clear as a light in the middle of the night, something sharp and acidic, ready to sting.
Cody is still at attention, but his eyes betray him—he is curious about Rex.

Summary
It had been Rex’s idea, he’d wanted to play commander to Cody’s captain. Something about Cody calling him ‘sir’ sent shivers up his spine, but as was usual with any role play idea he put to Cody, Cody did most of the legwork; Rex joked that Cody enjoyed the prep more than the actual scene.

Summary
In a world where the Name of your soulmate is something you intrinsically know but cannot say or even think of directly unless you’re addressing the person in question, it’s easier and safer to call everyone by rank, or by serial number when that gets confusing. It’s protocol in the GAR to use the impersonal address until someone introduces themself, but plenty of vode know and use each others’ names.
