Summary
Decay Day is coming to the Boiling Isles, and everyone is excited and eager to celebrate. Everyone except Hunter, it seems, who'd much rather spend this once-every-ten-years celebration curled up in his room with a book, pretending the outside world doesn't exist. But when he decides to step in and help Willow, suddenly Hunter finds himself as the plus one of the coolest and cutest witch he knows and everything is weird and scary and new. But Hunter is nothing if not adaptive, so even though he has no idea what he's doing, he's sure he can figure this 'date' stuff out and NOT embarrass himself or Willow at one of the biggest Festivals on the Boiling Isles!
...Maybe?

Summary
“anne told me you were mostly robotic now,” she whispers, her voice barely loud enough for him to catch her words. even here, she is timid; the confidence and boldness he had initially admired about her is gone now, and he can’t even mourn the loss because it was destroyed by his own hands.
“it kept me alive,” he answers– truthfully, because despite the times he had to lie to her to keep up his ruse and play to the core’s games, he never really enjoyed lying. “hello, marcy.”

Summary
Saying that Hunter was worried for Luz would be an overstatement. He wasn't worried, he was just...vaguely curious. He knew that she'd take some time in the human realm, to be with her mother, but...well, it'd been almost two weeks, and nobody had heard a single thing from her.
So, really, breaking and entering was an entirely reasonable reaction.- Language:
