Summary
According to Patrick’s mom, ‘when you know, you know.’
It’s vague, potentially completely unhelpful, but Patrick thinks he can get that. He thinks that’s something he can understand.
He thinks maybe he’s always known.

Summary
Patrick laughs, the neck of his beer pushing against his bottom lip. "What, like, you want to put me on my knees? Want to hear me beg?" He can't help it, can't stop himself when his tongue traces along the rim of the glass bottle. "You want me to call you daddy, Jon?"
Jonny shrugs, eyes dark. "If you want."
Patrick doesn't know what he wants, but he thinks Jonny's going to teach him.
(patrick just wants to learn)

Summary
Patrick’s begging for something he doesn’t know how to want. He doesn’t know how to want Jonny, how to even begin to try.
But Jonny’s holding him so tightly, like he’s afraid Patrick will slip from his grasp if he doesn’t, like Patrick’s water he has to cup in his palm at the fear it’ll spill.
Patrick’s spilling, all over the edges.

Summary
He wants Jonny to know that he means this, he means them. Everything. All of it. Because there might be so many things they can’t do, so many things they wish they could say or be but -- here, now, on a rink in Winnipeg, Patrick wants Jonny to know.
Jonny’s the love of his life, simple and plain. And he wants that to mean everything.
(or: jonny and patrick go home to winnipeg for the holidays and go ice skating, naturally.)

Summary
“I don’t - shit - I don’t want to fuck Dylan.”
Jonny's voice is amused and dark. “You sure about that?”
Patrick nods against the pillow, bracing himself to be hit again. He feels pulled tight, stretched, like the skin of a drum. It’s intense, when he feels like this, like he’s floating; disconnected and untethered. Come on, he thinks, just one more time. Just one more.
(or: dylan asks patrick, loudly, if he'd fuck him. for scientific purposes, obviously. no one is more interested in the answer than jonny. he's dying to know, actually.)

Summary
Robb clears his throat and Jon turns to look at him, their eyes catching one another in a steely gaze that Jon doesn't understand. Robb's lips are gentle, soft, parted slightly and redder than Jon had noticed the night before. Here, in the light of day, Jon sees the way the sun makes Robb's hair look almost amber. He wants to run his fingers through the soft curls. He tries to imagine that life again; that life where he grew up with Robb by his side. Jon pictures a life where all his Sunday mornings were like this; with Robb, coffee and oversized woollen jumpers. It makes Jon sick, to think that all he really wants, is Sunday mornings filled with Robb, coffee and sex.
(or: A life - and a family - that Jon has never known is brought crashing down on him with one, short phone call.)

Summary
Richie catches Eddie's eye and smiles at him, just for a second. Smiles at the boy who has his legs tucked up to his chest where he sits between Mike and Bill, wearing a sweater that's a size too big. Maybe two. He has it rolled up at the sleeves because his tiny wrists are drowning in it. Eddie smiles back, in that small way he does, like he doesn't want to let on that he actually tolerates Richie Tozier at all.

Summary
Someone used to tell Albus that the life you lead on Earth was dictated by who you chose to spend it with. That’s not true. Albus thinks, maybe, that the life he leads on Earth is dictated by himself. All his happiness, his sadness, his joy and his guilt and his worth have only ever been determined by himself. Albus chose for his own heart to break, in the end.
(or: it's okay to sleep with your brother if it's only physical, right?)
