Summary
Some days, Hizashi can live as if he were anchored to the here and now. On others—many, many others—his heart pangs as he watches Shouta locked in the past, expelling student after student to keep them from their graves—all to make up for the one that was filled fourteen years ago. He has his back turned to it still, refuses to read the tombstone, and Hizashi is so tired of the void left behind that haunts Shouta even now—resurfacing in the form of a certain problem child.

Inko eyes brighten as she snorts, a little bitterly at the mention of their past, but it’s a lot lighter than when they’d first arrived—she sets her teacup down gently and walks around to Shouta, ruffling his hair—fuck, NO, his hair—and plops down next to him to squeeze him, rocking back and forth a little. Something deep inside Shouta settles as he, hesitantly, returns the tight hug. Inko’s detergent-and-lilies scent brings his emotions uncomfortably close to the surface.
God, he’s—he’s actually hugging his sister. He hasn't seen her in so long.

Run away, as far as your legs can take you. Megumi would do that. Itadori pads over and sits close to him. Mirrors Megumi’s crossed legs, their knees touching. He tools a hand, laying hold of the antiseptic-soaked cotton ball in Megumi’s grasp.
