Summary
Dedue knows two things about Faerghus: it is cursed, and he should never go there.
He never intended to, either. But when a strange figure shows up on his doorstep, badly injured and barely clinging to life, he takes him in. When the man asks Dedue to go on a quest with him to save his Kingdom from a shadowy tyrant known only as the Dusk King, he accepts.
Their task is to free Dimitri's friends from the curse that traps them in an eternal dusk; it begins an adventure Dedue can never turn back from.

Jin Ling is flustered with shock; embarrassment at his uncle’s behavior and pure irritation at himself. Can’t help it, just lashes out wildly; hears the words flooding out of his mouth before he immediately regrets them. Hears himself groaning, “god, now I’m in trouble, can’t you guys just be normal for one fucking night?” But it’s too late. He reads the tautness in Sizhui’s face, the anger that’s begun unfurling from Jingyi.
And worst of all, before he turns away—not certain how to fix this or what’s going on with Jiujiu, or anything really—he catches Zizhen’s eyes. How they’re filling with stricken disappointment. Feels his heart take a guilty nosedive in response.
