You’ll have everything you will ever need.” He’d said it with so much confidence that Satoru had believed him, mirroring the smug look on his father’s face and the greedy way his eyes glinted. He’d loved his father before this, but he stopped loving him after it.
His father had never been more wrong when he said those words, and it made Satoru want to kill him. He would loathe his entire family until the day he died simply because they taught him how to exist being perfect, but not how that existence would affect him. They had painted fine china in white and blue, intricate designs of spider lilies and doves, but had forgot to check for cracks.
