Wordlessly he went into the living room and sat in his corner of the chesterfield, hand falling to the remote, but he couldn’t bring himself to turn it on. Feeling, more than hearing, Eddie walk into the living room, he slid down the sofa a little to let Eddie sneak in behind him. Letting himself get pulled back and held by Eddie, he rubbed his cheek on the cushion, the tears starting, and he didn’t know why. Well. That wasn’t entirely true. He knew why. He just never understood completely why this always seemed to happen to him. Sniffing a bit, he relaxed more as Eddie rubbed his neck and shoulders. Letting his head drop forward, he whispered, half hoping that Eddie would hear him, half hoping he wouldn’t.
“Will I ever be good enough?”
