Summary
The worst part was, Philipp would never know what Beckenbauer had been thinking, calling up ten forwards and a keeper to determine the fate of the planet.
[Galaxy11 AU: A team composed entirely of forwards does exactly as well as you'd expect against ten-foot-tall aliens. The Galaxy11 are annihilated, and Earth falls to the Hurakan. One year into the invasion, Philipp Lahm decides it's up to him, and the few footballers who remain, to make things right.]

The Romans called them genius loci, the gods that protected a place. Once in a generation, one pops up in a football team.
[Very loosely based on Rivers of London canon, but knowledge of the series isn't really necessary since it seems to be becoming its own thing lately.]

Summary
Xabi looks at him thoughtfully, as if weighing his words. “You have been getting along with Guardiola,” he says finally.
“I should hope so. A good relationship between captain and coach is very important,” recites Philipp like a schoolboy parroting dates, his annoyance with Xabi growing. Philipp is no stranger to talking around an issue, but he wishes Xabi would just spit it out.

Summary
In which Philipp Lahm is the perfect Slytherin, Pep Guardiola is intense and vaguely tragic, La Masia is a magical school and Johan Cruyff is a passionate madman.
This is an AU only in that we're in the Harry Potter 'verse. Everything else is more or less the same.

Summary
It’s snowing in Liverpool a few days later, which is quite unusual. The city glows white and everyone is sleepy. James is fresh out of the shower, hair still dripping, jumper and track pants sticking to him as he couldn’t be bothered to wait until he was dry to bundle up. Kettle going, laundry going, chores done, shopping done. The place is spotless. Training through for the day. He finds that he is very productive when call Charlie is on the to-do list because he always puts it off until the very end. Because of how nervous it makes him since he left Manchester.
