Dolores’s voice finally filters into her brain, through the pounding of her heart and shaky staccato of her breath.
“I’m sorry,” Mirabel says. She doesn’t really mean it and she can tell by the way Dolores huffs that her prima doesn’t believe her either. Her entire body aches but the fear on the boy’s face is etched into her mind and it’s enough to make the entire thing worth it.

With the magic restored to the Encanto and the family learning how to heal together, Mirabel watches from the centre of it all as they continue on their long journey into finding peace. With Bruno being welcomed back into the family with open arms and her relationship with her sisters being stronger than ever, Mirabel allows herself to hope, hope that her family are changing for the better and the people are growing as a community to support eachother. Though she's soon forced to learn a hard lesson as she realises there are certain members of their thriving community who ache for things to go back to how they were before the candle went out. As the next in line to take over the Madrigal family, she is forced to learn that though her family recognise her as their miracle, not everybody will accept her and her estranged uncle the way they do.
