Sometimes Caitlyn was genuinely baffled at how much of a useless lesbian she could be.
Here she was, standing right against the barricade in the pit at the Progress Promenade awaiting Seraphine’s entrance on stage after enduring weeks of yearning and hours of standing in line in front of the venue for this moment–the moment she finally got to see her idol perform LIVE before her very eyes–and what was Caitlyn doing?
She was ogling the person beside her, somewhere around her age, with the handsome, freckled face and shaggy, pink hair that cut off at their chin and was buzzed on the right side.

Summary
“Vi?” she murmured.
“Mm?” Vi prompted.
Caitlyn took a moment to seemingly collect herself before meeting Vi’s tired eyes and shuffling just the tiniest bit forward. Their noses were touching, their breaths mingling. Vi swore she could hear both their hearts thudding against their chests, so close but not close enough; so far, but not far enough, either.
“It might be… unprofessional, unethical even, for me to be saying this as the enforcer who released you from prison,” Caitlyn started. “But, as the…ally, if not friend that I hope you see me as now, I hope its ok for me to ask…”
When she didn’t continue, Vi wiggled her fingers and gave the enforcer a prompting eyebrow raise.
“Yeah, Cupcake?”
Caitlyn shuddered, eyes closing shut for just a moment, before snapping open and locking onto the undercity woman before her.
“I want so dearly to kiss you right now.”
(Or: my take on what happened in Act III s1e8 before the council meeting and after Vi made big fat heart eyes at Caitlyn on her bed)

Summary
His cis passing body, in addition to his being white (and Jewish, but still, a white Jew), fortunately prevented transphobic encounters or dysphoric periods more than if he was more visibly trans and/or a person of color. He saw how much Allison struggled as a biracial trans woman, how Renee constantly had to fight for people to respect their pronouns and not police how they presented as an enby.
He was lucky and privileged in these regards and he was very thankful for it.
Neil was especially grateful for how much his lack of body dysphoria lended to the variety of sexual endeavors Andrew and he had to explore.

“Kevin Day, keyboardist and producer” he said, then turned slightly to point to his companions. “Andrew is our drummer, Aaron our bassist, and Nicky our lead guitarist and current vocalist.” Kevin turned back to Neil at this point, question in his eyes. “Though, we’ve been meaning to find a replacement for the vocals. You’re the best we’ve encountered thus far.”
Neil gave him a skeptical look. “Was that your invitation?” he asked sarcastically.
“No,” Andrew spoke up. “This is: join EXY as our vocalist and second guitarist?”
Neil took a deep breath, eyes closed, and then answered.
“Yeah, I think I could do that.”

Andrew jumped to his feet as soon as he heard the door to the apartment open. He’d been waiting on the couch for the past three hours, unable to focus on anything but Persey and Neil’s arrival home.
“Andrew,” Neil huffed, surprised by his boyfriend’s sudden appearance. “Hi. Everything ok? You look… not ok.”
“I want to get married,” Andrew said in response, Neil nearly toppling over where he was taking off his boots. “And I want a baby.”
Neil did topple over at this, falling flat on his ass and looking up at Andrew in absolute shock.
“What?”
Andrew crouched down in front of him, placing one hand on the back of his neck.
“I want a baby. And she needs us.”
(Or: Andrew and Neil foster an infant in desperate need of a family.)

Summary
Neil is used to the perpetual feeling of dread like a bruise in his gut, the impending feeling of doom at the slow glide of a door creaking open, or the heavy fall of footsteps on the stairs. From a very young age, Neil has taught himself to disappear. At the flip of a switch, he can be whoever he needs to be to survive.
For his father, he falls into the role of obedient son, cruel and quiet and bloodthirsty. For his mother, he is a perfect soldier, docile and moveable and easy to control.
