What the hell, I'm writing House fic for the first time and it's HET? How did that happen?
Anyway, this is about a one night stand. Maybe this is how Cameron knows where the bedroom is in that episode with Dave Matthews? :3
Well, it's about more than a one night stand. It's sort of mystical, what with the mysterious old woman and all. Um, I think Cameron's been having dreams about her dead husband and goes to a psychic in desperation? I don't really know. The fic sort of wafted into my brain from the ether.
(For the record, I totally ship House/Wilson. Die for our ship kind of thing. But this was fun to write anyway!)

The mystery begins on the first of November.
Mais, non; Poirot must not leap to conclusions. The mystery is first noticed on the first of November, and it is very likely that it began before this time.Bookmarked by jabez_dawes (polly_oliver)

Ugh, amazing! I love this! I love how much this suits my impressions of both of them, and I love Freddie, and I love the scenes where Hastings changes clothes or even just smiles and it discombobulates Poirot a bit, all very good

Summary
If a man was to feel anything as irrational as love (love, that was to say, of a person or something else suspect, not king and country which was only proper), then that man could express that love in two ways.
He could undertake acts of forthright and dashing heroism.
He could ask the object of his affections for her hand in marriage.
So much Arthur Hastings had learned, by osmosis as much as by explicit conversation, during his years at the finest schools and universities in the country.

"I wonder why Miss Lemon hasn't married," said Hastings presently.
"Indeed, Hastings?"
"I mean, she's not bad-looking!" said Hastings. "As a matter of fact, Poirot, she's a very attractive girl."
"Oui, mon ami, and she has also the filing system most excellent."
