Summary
There was a moment a long time ago when a decision was made, by creatures holy and divine and nearly clinical in their uncaring, that lead to the creation of two perfect vessels. Made for the purpose of fulfilling a prophecy that they would spend two decades of their lives unaware of. This creation of perfection, this destiny bestowed upon an unsuspecting bloodline, killed the existence of free will in Sam Winchester’s life before he was even born.
Everything since has been out of his control. Even the moments he thought were his own.

Summary
There is this house, and the people who live in it and turn it into a home, and there is this salt of the earth life that somehow Cas has been worthy enough to earn. Every day it teaches him something new.
It could overwhelm him, if he dared let it. This, the irrefutable truth that he is human now and that his days consist of habitual things. Sometimes it does, he thinks, on the days where there’s a pressure that makes his head ache and his eyes hurt. Sometimes it startles him how much everything could have changed in the span of just one ordinary, human year. But those are also the days, it seems, when Claire knows to laugh a little more brightly, or where Sam looks at him with a happy glint in his eye, or where Dean kisses his temple in the exact spot where the pressure is the worst, and Cas forgets about the headaches at all.
It does overwhelm him. But it also liberates him, and that’s a far more powerful feeling.

Summary
Cas said he was worthy. And what the hell does that count for, now that he’s gone? Now that he's left the weight of his heavy confession in the palms of Dean’s hands and in the bloody print on the jacket Dean still hasn’t washed. All that Dean has is the echoing words of Cas’s dying confession to haunt him better than any damn ghost ever could. And what’s it fucking count for, anyway?
Jack tells him, “It counts for everything.”

Summary
Richie lets out a slow, controlled breath. Like he’s pacing himself. Or preparing himself. Maybe both. Maybe the same fire that’s been burning underneath Eddie’s skin ever since he realized it has been burning under Richie’s, too. That kind of fever pitch asks for patience. Eddie and Richie have given patience everything they have.
There’s another beat, before Richie decides they’ve waited long enough.
“So, are you gonna kiss me now?” Richie asks.

Summary
They saw some dinosaurs in the fly-over the day before, so Dean knew he was really, actually, truly going to see real, actual, true dinosaurs, but he still almost drops his camera in the mud when the first stegosaurus comes out of the trees.
Stunned, Dean says, “I’m going to win a Pulitzer.”
Equally stunned, Cas says, “How do I go back to bones after this?”

Summary
The dark forest edge blinks back at him and he knows it's not the eyes of monsters, but rather the twinkling of lightning bugs.
It had been hard moving out here at first; God abandoned, Castiel with grace he no longer wanted, Jack free of his responsibilities and wriggling in a soft swaddle of blankets in Sam’s arms. Cas didn’t need to think of that now, he was just glad for the towering Black Walnut tree, glad that it might finally bear fruit this year and that they might roast them in the fire pit out back.

Summary
They’ve won, and they’re together, and everything’s over, and sometimes Sam can still feel the walls closing in over his head.
“The problem with the bunker is that it’s a bunker,” he says to Dean on their way back from Idaho. “It’s underground, it’s heavily fortified, there’s an alarming number of esoteric weapons. Frankly it’s just…overkill.”
“Alright, so what do you want?” Dean asks, impatient. “You want to go back to motel-hopping?”
Sam shakes his head in dismissal. “No,” he says. “I don’t know, man. I miss Bobby’s.”

Summary
A week ago, Dean was pulled out of Hell. Now, he’s apparently woken up in 2018, and the angel that a mere twenty-four hours beforehand had threatened to chuck him back into the pit is sleepily pouring himself coffee and wearing Dean’s second-favourite Zeppelin shirt. It all seems like a perfect happy ending, but with Hell’s scars still so fresh, Dean can’t imagine how he could have possibly gotten there.
At the same time, the Dean who went to sleep in the bunker, right next to Cas, wakes up on Bobby’s couch in 2008. He’s instantly bombarded with questions by a Lilith-obsessed brother and a man who’s been dead for years, and must decide between keeping his finally-perfect life intact, and the lives he could save by re-writing history.
Regardless of these choices, both Deans are trapped in the wrong decade, and their only way back lies with a Castiel still very much under Heaven’s thumb – one who might find the future Dean describes difficult to believe.
