Summary
There was nothing to do but keep going. Keep fighting. But he was so tired. That sense of fighting spirit was harder for him to find than it had been when he was a Young Lion. It was like it was as tied up with SHO as he had been and his own sense of it had faded at that betrayal. YOH tried to not think of it like that - betrayal sounded so cruel - but a part of him knew that was what it had been. Or maybe he had been the betrayer by letting SHO down so many times.
But tonight, there was nobody to let down except himself.

Summary
It took only the slightest bit of pressure to encourage Jay to roll onto his back, pressing him into the mattress with his own weight. Tetsuya didn't want to hurt him - didn't want to be too much - but Jay's hands were insistent. Pulling him closer and closer, pleading with his fingers to have Tetsuya's body on top of his. And they kept kissing - lips certain to be swollen and red. But it wasn't forceful - simply needy and full of desire. It was as if Jay knew exactly how to kiss him by some sort of instinctual and silent communication between their bodies.
Was that what longing did?
Was that what happened when you kissed the person you had yearned to hold and cherish?
Did everything feel good like this?

Or maybe it wasn't just YOH's existence that his mind kept reminding him of. It was his smile. YOH was pretty - Desperado had acknowledged that years ago. A pretty face and a body that made his hands curious about what it would be like to touch. But such mellow thoughts could easily be ignored when he was trying to make something of himself. To finally become the man - the champion - he wanted to be. Set to the side for louder and more insistent things… and people.
But it was quiet now.

"Jay… what's that smile for?"
Those beautiful eyes widened as Jay realized that he could see a difference between his smiles and it only made that ache deepen.
"You… um…" The sound of his voice faltering made Tetsuya shift a little closer to him. "... you keep finding me…"
There was awe there as if Jay couldn't quite believe that he was looking for him in the first place. And this time, Tetsuya was the one holding back words. It would be too much to promise that he would always keep looking. He knew that but his heart swiftly took the weight of that unspoken promise upon itself.
"I hope so." It wasn't exactly what he wanted to say but even those words were so much for Jay. His eyes darted to the floor and Tetsuya missed his gaze immediately. "Don't be scared, leóncito."
