“Will?”
The animal’s breath catches, and for a very long, very excruciating moment, the only sound is the wind whistling through the forest.
On the verge of desperation, Hannibal leans closer to the animal, and it remains frighteningly still. His heart is pounding and his blood is thrumming with powerful interest in this strange creature, burning him right up.
“Will?” He tries again, much clearer than the first time.
The wolf’s startling blue eyes flutter closed with a resigned sigh, and when he—because it certainly is a he—opens them again, Hannibal is met with a piercing stare that sends a shiver down his spine and liquid fire flowing through his body. He looks into the wolf and Will Graham stares back, and even though nothing about this makes sense, Hannibal Lecter is enthralled. He would never let this opportunity go to waste.

“Hannibal.” Alana says, her voice breaking on his name. It brings his attention back to her, and now he finds grief so powerful it hits him right against his ribcage. “Hannibal… It’s been days. I don’t think they’re going to find Will’s…” She pauses to swallow against the tears. “You didn’t kill him. I know you didn’t. But I don’t think he’s alive.”
“Will Graham is resilient.” He bites back, though the first strings of doubt are starting to creep across his senses, no matter how hard he tries to push them down. He looks away, not wanting to see her heartbroken expression. “He is resourceful and clever, and stronger than you believe.”
There’s another pregnant pause before she speaks again. “You were a psychiatrist, Hannibal. You know what the stages of grief are. You’re in denial.”

Hannibal wakes up in the hospital after the fall and finds out that Will has disappeared, and is thought to be dead. Hannibal knows better though, he knows Will is alive. He isn't grieving. He just... isn't. -

It’s not like Hannibal didn’t know that Will was hiding something. It was after the third body drop a week ago that it became clear that Will had a secret that somehow involved the case, one he wasn’t willing to share yet, not even with Hannibal.
At 6:43 AM, Will had texted Hannibal that a fourth body had been found and that he was on his way to the scene with Jack.
At 8:06 PM, Will had stepped into Hannibal’s office, thirty-six minutes past his appointment time, and practically shouted “I used to be a stripper!” as loudly as his hoarse voice would allow him to.
Hannibal Lecter, though not phased by much in life, has never been entirely able to predict Will Graham, but this is just… getting out of control.

Alternatively, the FBI is hunting a serial killer targeting male strippers, and Will decides to throw himself into the fray. Hannibal is beyond pleased.

I want to see you crawling to me on your knees.”Dr. Lecter asks an overworked, stressed and infatuated Will Graham to be his very good boy and let Daddy take care of simply everything. This causes new awakenings in the younger man even as Hannibal's own vulnerability surprises him. Their new bond slowly builds to obsession as they become insatiable for each other, but Hannibal's keeping secrets and a lock on his heart.
