As usual these days she wasn’t focused on her surroundings but kept inside her head. Until she felt the uncomfortable sensation of being watched. She looked around, but nobody seemed to pay any attention to her.
Elizabeth shrugged and walked on, blaming the heat for slowly cooking her brain to mush.
Then she walked past someone and for a short moment she felt she knew this person.
But when she looked around, and he had turned as well to look at her over his shoulder, she did not recognize him. Not even as she kept thinking about it. She was even rather certain that this man hadn’t been a patient though; she saw so many people each day that it was hard to memorize faces and even harder to recall names if she remembered a particular face in the crowd. Maybe he lived around here and she’d seen him on her way to work some time.
And there it was again, the prickling sensation in her neck, suggesting her mind that someone watched her. Uneasily she turned around to find the strange guy had stopped halfway across the bridge and watched her.

After a while River shrugged and turned to leave. She grabbed the book off the console and took a few steps.
She felt a rush of air and heard quick footsteps behind her on the glass floor. River had trained herself to let her guard down around the Doctor; so he could take her by surprise when he grabbed her arm and twisted it to hold it against her back. She let out a small grunt more surprise but partly pained.
“So, what’s this about?” she asked half amused half annoyed.
The Doctor did not answer.

- Part 1 of Be My Companion
Suddenly a well known sound broke through the silence and River bit onto her lip. The screeching breaks of the TARDIS made the lump in her throat grow until she felt it was choking her. Like a sleepwalker she got up from her bed and slipped a bathrobe on, when she looked up from loosely tying the knot there he was – the Doctor.
Within a second Kai felt strong hands grab him and stop the fall. “Be careful,” Ice hissed at him.
“Why do you lie to me?!” Kai accused the other, bringing his fists up to hit the other’s broad shoulders. “Sora would never leave me behind. What did you do to him?” Kai exclaimed.
“Stop trying to hurt me.” Ice grabbed Kai’s wrists firmly.
They kept silent for a moment, Kai was breathing heavily.
