He shook his head fervently. “Not entirely. When we—” he made a choked sound when I let a tendril of my magic brush against him. There was no spell involved, though I kept a thin line of power brushing against him through willpower alone. “When we worked together,” he started again, “I’ve never felt so powerful. So alive. Your words and mine shaping a single spell, it’s extraordinary. And it shouldn’t be possible with someone as unskilled in magic as you are.”
