“Why do you keep that thing in your car?” Billy had asked and Steve’s eye pulled away from the forest ledge to look him in the face, a slight quirk in his eyebrow.
“Keep what?” he asked, shifting his weight to his right arm.
“The bat, with those fuckin nails or whatever,” Billy said, briefly gesturing to Steve's car parked further down.
Steve briefly looked surprised, hand coming up to rest on the back of his neck,
“oh,” he said before giving a somewhat halfhearted shrug. “Ya know, just in case,”or: Billy spends 8,000 words trying to figure out why the fuck Steve carries a deadly weapon with him at all times.

Summary
“Hey,” Steve’s smile is soft, tentative. “Heard you were having a party over here.”
“What are you…” Eddie swallows hard, mouth dry. He wishes every teacher that ever told him he talked too much could see him now.
“I was hoping that invitation still stood,” his eyes are drilling into Eddie’s and he can’t explain why he needs this so much, but he does. Every beat of his heart is begging Eddie to open the door, to let him in.
There’s a beat, a catch of their eyes and Eddie shifts, pushes the door open wide, whispers, “of course,” whispers, “always.” His heart is in his throat, he can’t pull his eyes away as Steve steps in, crowding him so close they share a breath. He can feel Steve’s gravity pulling him in and he’s never wanted to collapse so badly.
OR: Eddie gets to have a good life because that's what he deserves.

Summary
Soul flowers aren’t a ticket to true love, he knows that well enough, but they do mean importance, significance, permanence. And so far no one has ever loved Steve significantly or permanently enough to leave some. Maybe that means he’s broken. Maybe that’s why he can’t leave any for her.
So Steve lets Jonathan take Nancy home that night, and tries not to feel too bitter about the matching bracelet of roses on Jonathan’s hand.

Eddies discovers that the cherry on the top of his already weird day comes in the form of Steve Harrington agreeing to sub into a game of D&D and being surprisingly good at it.

An AU where the party has forced Steve to play DnD a few times in the past so that he has some knowledge of the game, and in which Dustin convinces him to sub in for Lucas in ep1 instead of Erica. And it kinda blows Eddie's mind.
