Summary
Nothing’s been the same since the Mountain.
Well, one thing, perhaps. He still sings, writes, plays. Music still comes easily to him, as easy as breathing. More easily than the breaths he takes right now (draped and bound over a saddle, chest bouncing painfully against the stirrup leathers, worse when the horses break into a trot). If anything, he makes more music than he did, with a frantic urgency, filling the quiet land around him with the notes whirling in his head that are more necessary to him than food.
Easier to come by, too, after a while.

Summary
It was a curtain-down, please-take-all-your-belongings-with-you-when-leaving-the-auditorium kind of moment, everybody milling around and saying awkward goodbyes and picking up the pieces, and all Crowley could think of was that he was in pieces, and the only belonging of his that had ever mattered was a burned-out skeleton on the road outside the airbase.
Well, except for Aziraphale. Who was standing beside him, fussing his hands against his waistcoat, smiling nervously at everybody. Not burned out. Not dead, or even discorporated now. But here, alive, ridiculous, beautiful. Not a belonging, though. Not belonging to anyone now. Whatever Crowley’s – ha! English was an absurd language! – longing for him.
At the airbase, as the curtain comes down and the pieces are picked up, Adam gives Crowley and Aziraphale something very precious.

Summary
“But Orsino’s an arsehole!”
If they’d been sitting in the galleries, Aziraphale would have slid down out of sight to avoid the hundreds of pairs of eyes that were turned towards them. But today he and Crowley were groundlings, there was no seat to hide under, and instead there was a murmur of amusement, irritation, and, increasingly, agreement.
“Come on, Cesario!” shouted Crowley at the stage, “you’re better than him! He’s a moping, sadistic posh git who can’t even woo properly. You’re the real deal, boy, you know, it, she knows it, you all know it.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
A small and self-indulgent little story that I wrote today as my 41st birthday present to myself. Crowley's opinion of the end of "Twelfth Night" is one I've shared for around half my life, so. ;-)
Marked "Teen and Up" for a bit of swearing and some allusions to what a terrible person Orsino is, but probably some below that age would be fine; use your judgement. :)

Summary
Bucky laughs and grins and feels giddiness spread through him, the loose leaves by the ground rising up in response to his magic. His wolf sees it and growls and runs to the leaves, leaping in the air, trying to catch them.
Bucky laughs until he’s breathless, his magic loose and bright and spinning through the woods.
“Come on,” Bucky calls out to his wolf, a grin still playing at his lips. “Let me show you the forest.”

Summary
Sure, Bucky was Shield’s top musician. He spent hours upon hours in front of the piano, playing for others, playing for himself, composing, singing, pouring his heart and soul into the keys day in and day out. It was a position he’d lost temporarily, after the accident. A position he’d fought for again as soon as his physiotherapist had agreed to let him play again. A position he was proud of, one that was pretty much his dream job.
But Shield wasn’t for musicians. Shield was a ballet company, and Steve? Steve was one of their principal dancers.
So Bucky could watch all he liked, when Steve stretched and his tights pulled thin across his ass, or he flexed and every muscle stood out in high relief. But he wasn’t going to get anywhere, because Steve was so far out of Bucky’s league that it was almost funny.

Summary
It's not a mark or a thread that distinguishes a soulmate; instead, it's a physical sensation, a bio-resonant connection—a rhythm to your breath, a cadence in your blood, the echo of an extra pulse inside your chest that proves your heart's not quite beating by itself, anymore; that it was always waiting for a matching set of notes to make a melody, and now it's singing, now it's soaring. Now you're whole.
But when what you've got is a pair of tricky lungs, faulty blood, and a bum ticker, it doesn't matter how strong your soul is: the harmony will barely rise above a whisper, the resonance will almost always strike too weak. So it's no one's fault, really, if a person misses the fact that his soulmate's standing right in front of him.
It's no one's fault if it takes the better part of a century to finally see.

Summary
‘I get flashes,’ Donna said, stirring her coffee. ‘Pictures, mostly. Of these – impossible things. Aliens in London. Shadows that move. A giant wasp, of all things. And there’s someone I need to find. A man, I think. I don’t remember what he looks like.’ She prodded at her pie morosely. ‘What about you?’
‘Fragments,’ he said. He had refused her offer of food or drink and was sitting opposite her in the booth of the little café outside the museum, staring a little blankly, hood pushed back to reveal unkempt dark hair that fell to his shoulders and bright blue eyes, ringed by shadow. ‘Like when you know a word’s just on the tip of your tongue but you can’t quite find it.’
Bucky needs a friend. So does Donna. This is going to end well.
