Summary
A dark night. Heartbreak. Edward and Izzy, and all that is and isn't between them. Holding on and letting go.
Some things can't be fixed because they aren't broken: they're just not meant to fit together.

Summary
Edward Teach adjusts to life as The Kraken very easily. Really. He doesn't spend his nights getting drunk and ugly-crying. He doesn't stare wistfully at a lighthouse painting. He doesn't rub his dark paint-covered face into soft fabrics in the secret closet as Lucius watches him judgmentally from his commandeered armchair. He's doing great. Absolutely peachy, Izzy, thanks for asking, now go away.
And then Stede Bonnet dies, which sets off a chain of events that might, in fact, fix everything - but only if everyone learns to communicate like adults just this once.

Summary
The King County Christmas Fair is a great place if you're looking for last minute gifts, imported chocolate, witchcraft supplies and holiday cheer. For Daryl Dixon, it's just a place he works the waffle stall at. At least until he meets a lost little girl who sings him nursery rhymes about artichokes. He can't just keep her, though, no matter how cute she is.
Turns out, her father is also very cute.

Summary
Stede seems to understand intuitively that Ed needs to be held, is practically shaking apart with the need for Stede to press them close everywhere that they can. He pulls Ed’s thigh over his own waist with strong hands and smooths his fingers along the hard muscle that runs its length, making a little gasping noise – ‘Oh, Ed, you’re incredible.’ Ed wants to scoff, because it’s just a leg, but the way Stede’s hand is stroking it, Ed believes – he believes in this moment, this reverent moment, that Stede wants him the way he wants Stede.

Summary
Blackbeard was still bleeding, which meant he was still alive, right? Stede had to lean in close several times to feel him breathing. Finally, Roach sat back from his body. “That’s it, sir. That’s all I can do.”
Stede shook his hand. They were both covered in blood. “Thank you, Roach.”
Stede looked around him, dizzily. The men were cleaning up the deck. Oluwande was at the helm. Buttons had a spyglass, keeping an eye on their pursuit. “Could we, erm—”
“Way ahead of you, Captain,” Ivan said, and he and Fang gingerly lifted Blackbeard’s body and carried him below deck to the captain's cabin. Stede was glad to see them, too.
Stede barely noticed that all his books were gone. Most of his clothes, too, and his chandeliers, and much of his finery, except for Mary’s painting of the lighthouse. Later, when he had washed up and changed, and even taken a little tea, and had been sitting with the unconscious Blackbeard for several hours, he considered whether Ed had kept it in memory of him, or as a warning against him.
This was not how he had wanted to apologize to Ed.

Summary
“Yeah, Captain, about that,” Oluwande said, taking Stede aside. “Isn’t this kind of…deeply fucked up? Like, the Kraken is the only thing Blackbeard’s afraid of. You sure you’re not going to traumatize him or something? Make him freak out? Make things worse?”
Stede sighed, looking back at the Revenge, and at Edward. “It is fighting dirty, I'll give you that,” Stede said. “But we need an edge. They’ll catch up to us eventually. The fuckery Kraken will, I hope, give us a bit of breathing room to make a clean escape.” Stede swallowed, and Oluwande got the idea that he was revealing something he hadn't admitted to anyone else, possibly even himself before. "Chauncey said I had brought history's greatest pirate to ruin, and that's not true. Not yet.”
Oluwande’s eyes grew wide.
“I would do anything to save Edward,” Stede continued. “Up to and including destroying Blackbeard."
