Would you take a second chance on a first love?
In 1986, Jamie Fraser met Claire Beauchamp while on a skiing holiday in Switzerland. After a whirlwind week together, they head back to their separate lives with a promise to keep in touch. Through circumstances beyond their control, neither could fulfill that promise. Both move on with their lives, but their hearts remain connected, and neither can ever truly let go of their feelings.
Thirty-two years later in 2018, Claire buys a property in Scotland, only to discover that her next door neighbor is Jamie. Can they look beyond the past and forge a new future together?
Now and Then offers readers two very different versions of our favorite characters. We see them as young college students, and again as mature adults. I wanted to write a fic with Jamie and Claire at the approximate age that they are now on the show. There are lots of excellent fics showing younger versions of Claire and Jamie, but precious few showing them over forty. You’ll find plenty of spice, moderate angst, no sexual violence or non-con, and as always, a happy ending. The world needs happy endings!!
